Articles by Danny D
Voted PS3 Attitude's favorite Staff Writer 15 minutes in a row, this undisputed and unrelenting Trophy King is among the weirdest individuals you will ever read from. Or about. Aboot if you're Canadian. Entertainment is the game and you already know his name. It's Danny_D by the way.
You may be greeted by this message the next time you log in to the SOCOM blog:
“I’m David “Point Man†Brothers, your senior drill instructor, from now on you will speak only when spoken to, and the first and the last word out of your filthy sewers will be “Sir”. Do you maggots understand that? Bull$#!% I can’t hear you. Sound off like you got a pair!”
The SOCOM team are through messing around as they say. Read on to findout how they plan to make men out of you, in a strictly military sense of course. Wait, that still sounds weird…
After a brief hiatus This Week in Rock Band brings you all the tracks, packs or albums that you will be able to purchase for your favorite band simulator this Thursday (groupies not included but highly recommended).
Come Thursday we will have two packs for our rockin’ delight. Three tracks from Jimmy Eat World (where’s ‘The Middle’ you ask? In the game already, that’s where) and a whopping five different alternative country artists laying down their best least-known tracks. If you are wondering how the hell you are supposed to rock to country music then you must see the movie Crank. Awesome stuff.
And now for something completely different (than Killzone 2), we bring you Guitar Hero Metallica news. Forget about the fearsome foursome, it’s all about the king. No not the one who thanked profusely, probably too much; nor the one who creeps into your home, watches you sleep and then offers you a burger; or the wrestler turned commentator turned plastic surgery freak.
No my friends, King Diamond is the only king we bow down around these parts. Well him and the one we dare not speak of. We are not worthy.
Not even its creator can explain it; he only wants you to play it. At $4.99 how can you say no Noby Noby Boy? Except for the first two letters in ‘noby’; we can’t. Zuma is another game that we could recommend, at least the demo. We know of a certain PS3A Staff Writer that sneaks a round or two with the PC version. Speaking of demos, the foul mouthed Afro Samurai has a demo for you (I wonder if it was toned down for the demo). The legends are in Paradise; go get your favorite one or all four (you know you want to). Your Guitar Rock Hero Band DLC is here despite someone forgetting to tell you it was coming (sorry). Get yours while they last, full details after the break.
The headline could have easily read “Resident Evil 5 – The Visa Card” as well as “Bionic commando – The Visa Card”, you can choose from any of these major franchises if you decide to sign up for the first ever Capcom Unity Prepaid VISA Card.
Capcom is the first video game company to offer a co-branded Visa rewards card program specifically designed for gamers. ‘Did they just say rewards?’ Yes they did, read on for the juicy bits.
Flower power! You can tell we have been waiting for this PSN exclusive for a while and now here it is. The usual Guitar Rock Hero Band DLC is here along with February’s Qore amore.
Disgaea …
Our good friends at ThreeSpeech are hard at work on a multi-part feature on gaming and advertising and part one is out now. Capcom’s latest viral marketing campaign, and Ubisoft’s past big budget advertising endeavors are put under the microscope today. Is viral the way to reach gamers? Do big budget campaigns are more suited for us? Or are there ‘smarter’ options available out there?
Phase two-point-oh is a go. The SOCOM servers have been updated to give us a new online look and experience. The website servers that is, the game servers are still a bit wobbly for our taste. Here’s hoping that they are in fighting shape come SOCOM Confrontation’s European release. But I digress (again).
SEGA is back on the court with another Virtua Tennis for your PS3. The third SEGA tennis game to grace the PS3 (Virtua Tennis 3 and SEGA Superstars Tennis being the other two), Virtua Tennis 2009 will return with major enhancements and additions this year.
Street Fighter IV is mere days away from being released and we cannot wait to get our ↓, ↘, → on. Again. Today is about the main bad guys Bison and Seth. Most of us have our money on M. Bison, ass we never underestimate pure evil. That smile at the end of the video? Pure evil my friends, pure evil.
A demo for MLB 09: The Show was released last week and I decided to take it for a spin over the weekend. Being away from the game for so long meant there were some cobwebs to shake off, a lot of them. But I managed to hold my own at the ballpark. How many times must you hit a batter with a fastball to the head for a fight to occur in demo you ask? Read on thrill seekers, read on.
This week in Rock Band brings you all the tracks, packs or albums that you will be able to purchase for your favorite band simulator this Thursday (groupies not included but highly recommended).
This week is a Fratellis love-fest. Greetings from The Fratellis: Jon, Barry and Mince Fratelli (if those are their real names) are willing to be emulated in Rock Band. The boys from Glasgow, Scotland are lending three tracks from their 2006 album CostelloMusic.
Are you the ultimate Sega Mega Drive fan? This is your chance to prove it. Later in the month there will be a Europe only contest for some SEGA Mega Drive Vinyls, but you can get yours earlier thanks to SEGA Australia.
They are auctioning vinyl #0001 up on eBay for people all over the world to bid on and all proceeds will be donated to charity, to be specific the Cancer Council of Australia.
Read on for more information on this truly one of a kind collector’s item.
Today we get to know more about our personal favorite feature of MLB 09: The Show; what they have lovingly called The Sounds Of The Show. Find out how to add your favorite chants, your most irate yells, or how to add that hot new Ricky Martin song as your player’s home run celebration. Yeah, you can do that now.
It took a while to get the PS3′s Burnout Paradise Network Open Beta up and running but here it is. The official announcement of the latest Burnout Paradise premium DLC pack is online.
Get ready for the chase of your life.
We are in Paradise. The Ultimate Bundle of Burnout Paradise may be one the the best deals you’ll see all year. But the real heartbreaker this week is the cold hard truth that love not only hurts, it costs money. $2.99 to be exact. The LittleBigPlanet Valentine’s Day Mini-Pack is breaking fan’s hearts everywhere; and not in a good way.
Enjoying the demo are you? Are you really mad that you can’t run like a mad man firing your gun all willy-nilly or it doesn’t even matter? If you haven’t yet experienced the demo like some of us here at PS3 Attitude (me), Capcom would like to give you a peek with these brand new screens sans that star at the center of our Solar System.
So you bought the collector’s edition of Resistance 2 only to covet the regular edition’s cover art. Or maybe you picked the standard edition and quietly loathe the fact that the higher priced collector’s edition has the cooler box art. Maybe you just grew tired of looking at the same cover and want to spice your case’s life and want to slip the old case a new one.
Boy do I have good news for you.
Capcom have announced their plans for Street Fighter IV downloadable content in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. The content will be released January 12 in Japan and continue with weekly release for a month. The DLC has been confirmed for the Japanese PS Store only but we expect that the North American and European offerings will be very, very similar.
Get on with the content already? Ok, if you insist.
