Voted PS3 Attitude's favorite Staff Writer 15 minutes in a row, this undisputed and unrelenting Trophy King is among the weirdest individuals you will ever read from. Or about. Aboot if you're Canadian. Entertainment is the game and you already know his name. It's Danny_D by the way.
It’s all about the PSPgo and PSP minis all over the world. But for the PSPgo-less crowd (the lot of you we hope) there’s a ton of games for you to sample on your PS3 Phat or Slim. Brütal Legend is the one we have all been waiting for, but there’s also Star Wars, Need for Speed, TMNT (which you can buy) and Up.
Up is a pretty fun coop game for the family. And speaking of family, LittleBigPlanet has a new costume pack featuring characters of a movie that the kids are not allowed to watch. They sure do look cute in sackperson form though. FIFA 10 and NBA 10 get DLC as well, one of which is free.
The wait for this one was brutal, but well worth the wait. Brutal Legend: The Demo is upon us. We all rocked to Tenacious D with Rock Band, but now you can be the man himself. Jack Black rocks out with his rooster out in the open in Tim “Freakin” Schafer’s Brutal Legend.
But that is not all Digger HD: The Downloadable Game is available for all you digging enthusiasts. We just hope that the multiplayer modes are not full of virtual teamsters slowing everything down. Qore, PSone classics, LBP’s Watchmen costumes, and two Fallout 3 packs round up this very awesome update.
Activision may not have enough cash lying around for another not really well put together Guitar Hero: Insert Band Name game. Or maybe they came up with this special offer out of the goodness of their hearts. Yeah, we didn’t think so either. At any rate, this week we have a butt-load of Guitar Hero World Tour songs at a discounted price.
But there is something for the rest of the gaming world that moved on from the Guitar Hero franchise. Heavy Weapon makes its European debut and a whopping three demos including Punisher: No Mercy and Lost Planet 2. The latter has some PS3 exclusive content, so indulge yourselves (that’s Lost Planet 2 for the slow and/or inebriated out there).
It’s official. It is now time to grab your pitchforks and torches. Trine is nowhere to be found in this update. Perhaps this would be a good time to move to the old country if you are that into Trine. While we reckon that getting your hands on a European PSN card would also work, we’ll stick to the most extreme solution aforementioned.
Get your brain in shape; it will only cost you five bucks. Brain Challenge gets a price drop along with Droplitz and 25 Guitar Hero World Tour songs. Even Brain Challenge’s expansion pack is on sale. Moving out of the ‘on sale’ bin, we have Zombie Apocalypse and C&C Commander’s Challenge. As we make our way to the ‘five finger discount’ bin, we find five demos ripe for the picking. Which one will you get?
US_PSNSad but true. Us gun toting, Whopper eating folk are still Trine-less. Maple syrup chugging, poutine eating folk hadthe same fate. So we would like to ask: where the (radio edit) is Trine? Not in NA,that’s for sure.
The options? Switch your ball or Interpol. Embrace your inner Sporty Spice and give FIFA and NBA 10 the good college try, or go down memory lane with two more PSone Classics.
We can’t believe it’s time to say TGIT. Hmm, that almost reads something cheeky. We won’t say what though, our mums could be reading this (love ya, send cookies and PSN vouchers).
Trine is the reason for the season, and that reason is pleasing. Pleasing all of us that have waited a long ( looooong) time for Trine. Well here it is ladies and gents; better get buying after all that moaning.
We haven’t done one of these in a long time. The very first ‘Beat The Team’ column debuted about six months ago to highlight our very first Killzone 2 clan match. Back then we scored a perfect 7-0 score, securing our first clan win. Since that glorious evening we built a 2-2 Killzone 2 online record.
Now is the time for a PS3A Killzone comeback. A reboot of the clan if you will. Our first match of the new season was upon us, and the opposing clan was primed and ready to go. Will history repeat itself?
One new game! Three, no four new demos! Three new PSone classics! A crapload of ‘not so premium anymore huh?’ themes with no dynamic ones whatsoever! Turtle power! The Juggernaut b*tch!
Although lacking in the dynamic themes department (especially the free ones), North Americans can’t really complain about this update like Europeans are repeatedly forced to every other week.
One new game! Four new demos! Three free good ‘ole themes! Three dynamic themes and one of them free! Freezepop! George Takei!
Good one SCEE, you set us up the bomb for this update just right. You gave us an atrocious one last week, only to sweeten this one that much more.
We are not quite sure what to make of this update. We got Qore, NBA 2K10 Draft Combine (game and demo), Battle Tanks, Cool Boarders 3 for the PSone, Guitar Hero tracks (no EU love?) and whatever Europe got (see: not much more).
SCEA managed to get a handful of themes available, three of them of the dynamic persuasion. Better than Europe’s update, sure. But is it a good update? We can’t reach an agreement, so you tell us.
Speaking of themes, we hope those premium prices get dynamic too. $3.99? Come on! No wonder the zebras are taking over. While there’s no BZB! theme for NA (doesn’t that burn you?), NA gets away with PixelJunk, High Velocity Bowling and PAIN dynamic themes. How fitting that PAIN gets a premium theme, those prices hurt.
Really? Is this how SCEE capitalizes on the popularity of firmware 3.0? A re-hashed demo (not even a good one at that) and a smattering of DLC? Except for you Rock Band, you have always come through for us every time but Christmas (when you crushed our hearts).
The saying goes beggars can’t be choosers, which is true, but beggars can be really grumpy if they don’t get what they want. Then again, we are not beggars; we paid a pretty penny pence for this newfangled computer entertainment system and we want cool games and content for it. Now.
Unless you’ve been waiting for the F.E.A.R. 2 pack or the Summer blockbuster Buzz! Junior: Monster Rumble, this update sucks. We guess you’ll have to do with the one plain old boring Burn Zombie Burn! theme. Wait a minute…£1.19/€1.49?! It’s not even free?! Really?
We don’t know how it happened (honestly*) but Afrikan zebras have been spotted in America. The sound of hooves are driving us insane. One of the cooler additions of firmware 3.0 were dynamic themes, one of which we saw in motion already (we’ve called it ‘Globetrotting Sackboy’) and was available for purchase since September 1st for a price.
However, ‘Afrika Theme Zebra’ was also available on the 1st in Japan for free. That may explain the penetration of these black and white equids to American soil. This week a third theme is available, PixelJunk Monsters, but you already know all about it. Other than that, Japan’s Store offerings are slim this week. Not even a PSone classic for crying out loud!
Hong Kong will be getting getting their burnination on (I made a rhyme, again) this week with a Burn Zombie Burn promotion to write home about. Make that to wear Home around. Buy Burn Zombie Burn and get a free BZB tee for PlayStation Home, available in his and hers. Does that make you want to look for a Hong Kong PSN card?
This week, the HK Store is your destination if you missed all those deliciously new (by then) Gamescom videos. Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, EyePet, Modnation, Savage Moon, Hustle Kings, Gravity Crash; all available for download and HD ogling. Well come on! Start ogling!
And that dear readers is what’s up in Hong Kong, stay tuned for what’s going on in your neck of the woods. PS3 Attitude, highlighting what’s up in the Hong Kong PlayStation Store since last week.
Europe, stop giggling. Yeah it took longer than usual, but thanks to some expert help the North American PS Store update is up and running. It also took us a little bit longer to post it but hey, we were a little busy.
Invincible Tiger debuts in super-duper 3D. Finally! We can use those Rad Racer glasses again. This week’s PSone classics are brought to you by the number two: CoolBoarders Two, Tomb Raider Two and SimCity Two…thousand. There are four demos this time around, all of them previously available elsewhere, if you happen to own a ‘summer home’ abroad that is.
Sadly something went bananas over at PlayStation Network HQ and the weekly store update is running a bit late. No worries, top men are working on it with the aid of their feline counterparts (pictured). Someone give that cat an HDMI cable or this could take all night.
That’s right, Disgaea 3 has dumped a massive amount of DLC into today’s Europe’s PS Store. EA style. But today’s update is much more than that.
Crash Commando gets a price drop, Smash Cars and Battle …
It’s been a while since we checked out what is going on in Japan. Since the Japanese PS Store does have some gems to offer us even if we are not fluent in Japan’s lingua franca.
Zany preview videos or exclusive Japanese demos have been known to pop out here and there, so we have decided just to give you the highlights so you don’t miss anything worth checking out .
It’s been a while since we checked out what is going on in Hong Kong. heh, that kind of rhymes. Since The Hong Kong PS Store is usually light in content (only often), we have decided just to give you the highlights so you don’t miss anything worth checking out for us English speaking folk.
An English version of topatoi is hovering around Hong Kong, could that mean that a North American version could soon follow? Not necessarily, taken into consideration the vague official ‘fall release date’ and the fact that it technically isn’t fall yet. You can also grab three topatoi wallpapers to make the waiting a bit more palatable.
Well don’t look so shocked former Geico Guy turned PlayStation’s new VP of Enough is Enough/Director of Rumor Confirmation, these ads are just too awesome for one site to host and we think you knew that.
That’s right, the US PlayStation.Blog favorite video service Viddler has buckled under the awesomeness of Sony’s new PlayStation 3 ad campaign. YouTube must be giggling right now.
