Articles by Danny D
Voted PS3 Attitude's favorite Staff Writer 15 minutes in a row, this undisputed and unrelenting Trophy King is among the weirdest individuals you will ever read from. Or about. Aboot if you're Canadian. Entertainment is the game and you already know his name. It's Danny_D by the way.
Did you enjoy PURE? It would appear that most of you did. Are you ready to enjoy it again? Oh, so you are done with it. How about a bunch of trophies? Will that change your mind?
We thought so. The Black Rock Studio developed, Disney Interactive Studios published ATV racer is getting patched with trophies after almost eight months of being trophy-less in the rain.
We had a divided crowd last week for the top downloaded movie. The top SD movie was The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke, while the top HD movie was Quantum of Solace with Daniel Craig.
We went with The Wrestler for the picture (and thus declaring it the winner) because we have a soft spot for underdogs making a comeback. So there you have it The Wrestler, a winner is you.
With the impending North American release of Sacred 2 May 12th (5th June for Europe, sorry Phreaky), we are treated to a video of one of our favorite game modes as of late: cooperative game play.
Sacred 2 offers two player offline coop for social butterflies and four player online coop for PS3 hermits.
Welcome back, This Week in Rock Band brings you all the tracks, packs or albums available for your favorite band simulator this Thursday (groupies not included but highly recommended).
Two tracks may be instantly recognizable in this bunch; they were hits not so long ago: Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out” and Alien Ant Farm’s “Smooth Criminal”.
Most fighting games have you beating the crap of your opponent, some may even have you beating the crap of two or three opponents, but Tekken 6 not only wants you to break your opponent’s body and will; it wants you to break the stage too while you’re at it.
Walls and floors are fair game, as long as you use your enemy’s body to break them.
If you are a fan of the site (and honestly how could you not be?) you should know by now that Brütal Legend is looking fine and that it is going to rock your PlayStation 3 this Rocktober.
So you know that Brütal Legend rocks, Jack Black is awesome and that Tim ‘Freakin’ Schaffer is a video game genius. But what do you know about the story of Brütal Legend?
We all had a different reaction to the recent news of Batman’s delay, but we can all still agree that we want to play Batman: Arkham Asylum as soon as it hits the streets.
In a good news/bad news scenario, Eidos and Warner Bros. released a new video showcasing Batman’s ‘freeflow combat’ to ease the pain and/or whet the appetite even further. We have to be frank for a minute, the bad news totally overshadow the good news.
Evil may have a new face, but your old minion friends are back just as you remember them. Only harder, better, faster, stronger and funnier.
Overlord II is coming sooner than you may have expected with new features and surprises that fans of the original Overlord: Raising Hell (guilty) hoped for.
We are liking this Army of Two trailer. Anarchy? Chaos? Civil unrest? Throwing people off a building that may or may not look like the Attitude Towers after a New Year party? Petting zoos!? Sing us up!
Ever since the shut down of Michael Jackson’s Neverland zoo we have been on the market for a substitute. Do we have a winner?
An ill feeling haunted him from Budapest to Miami. He felt as he was not alone. He was right. There it was. Lurking in the shadows waiting to strike yet again.
And so it did. Ladies and gentlemen, our humble protagonist fell to the beast once more. Powereless against such a mighty foe, he fell into a spiral of anger and self loathing.
Europe was a different story. The return of the familiar add-ons of LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band and Guitar Hero comforted him, but the lack of any demos made him ponder. “Maybe they are all still playing those two demos from last week” he reasoned, “I sure am.”
Hong Kong is on the horizon, so is an eerie feeling that he cannot fully understand nor describe. As he sets foot on the once bustling city he knew things were not right. Our humble yet brave staff writer is met with nothingness, something he did not expect to find this day. “This cannot be” he thought to himself, “there must be something. Anything.”
Out of the caves a staff writer emerges, freeing himself from a ghastly spell. Once out of that dark and awful place, his senses come back to him ever so slowly. Finally realizing just how long he was imprisoned away from the Tower, his colleagues, friends and his public; he bows his head in shame. “I have failed them all” he mutters, clinching his fist in anger. He knows what must be done. He knows only he can do it. And so begins his quest for redemption, first stop: Japan.
And you thought sinking pirate ships was as weird as it was going to get. How about fending off hungry crocodiles (or alligators depending on your region) with a tennis ball? Virtua Tennis 2009 is bringing your old favorite Virtua Tennis 3 mini games back for another spin.
See ‘Meat Defender’ and other favorite Virtua Tennis mini games in action for today’s lesson: you can thwart an alien invasion with nothing more than tennis balls and a good arm.
The first time we heard about Fat Princess back in 2008 we were already sold on the idea. This was good for Titan Studios because it would be months since we saw the adorably plump monarch in motion.
Skip ahead to April 2009 and the free Episode 11 of Qore featured a developer interview with the creators. It was then where we saw her in motion for the first time. We were already sold on the game, now we were in love…
Sorry mates, this update takes the cake. We share the same demos, most of the add-on features and videos; but North America edges out Europe thanks to Sonic, Disgaea, Naruto, and a couple of Alpha Protocol dev videos. Oh yeah, let’s not forget a crazy little thing called Pulse. But today, the demos take the center stage.
Now this is more like it. A more hefty PS Store update complete with demos, PSone and PSN games, on top of a ton of downloadable content. Europe is such a big place; some games take a little bit of time to make it all over the place. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two (big title, let me catch my breath) makes it to Europe today.
Help us lay the hammer down in Mars with the public release of the Red Faction demo, throw fisticuffs with UFC 2009 Undisputed, get them HAWX up in the air, or refuse (or not) to give your money to The Godfather.
Not a very eventful Hong Kong update today either. We got the motley crew of Linger in Shadows loose in the streets of Hong Kong spreading tons of free MLB PS3 themes. Nite Owl and Rorschach are promoting physical pain to the criminal element in that region. Naruto is keeping up the free storm packs, but this time in Japanese.
We are waiting for more robust European and North American updates.
Our Japanese friends sure love their PS One classics; five more are here to get your Yen like a greedy Meowth. Somebody enlighten us on these four Godfather II DLC items before we make EA an offer they cannot refuse. Civilization Revolution extends its grasp on the world by offering Japanese DLC to the Japanese people. Look out for that Bayonetta trailer, we surely will.
