So who is this new recruit?

At PS3 Attitude, we’re celebrating the PlayStation Network with our ’20 Days of PSN’ feature. First up; Siren: Blood Curse.

From the very moment we saw the ‘blood lake’ teaser website and worked out that a Siren title was coming to the PS3, we were excited about this game. When it released during the latter part of July 2008 as an episodic PSN download, we weren’t disappointed.

So who are these two new recruits, helping to keep you informed about daily PS3 happenings?

FIFA 11 is truly a “game of two halves”, a phrase that has summed up the topsy-turvy nature of this beautiful game we call football since it was coined, probably by either Jimmy Greaves or Ian St. Clair, in the early ’90s.

The problem with FIFA 11 is this. On one hand you have the slickest and best feeling football game to ever arrive on the PS3. Then on the other hand you have a game mode so maddening you hope and pray that, just for some light relief, Sir Alex Ferguson would walk into your room and kick a boot in your face.

PlayStation Move is the most anticipated PS3 product of the year. Forget all your AAA titles and firmware updates; nothing comes close to changing the game like the PS Move does.

The all important question, therefore, is this – is the PlayStation Move actually any good?

The Madden videogame franchise really all started with some cards and a dice.

Back in the day Trip Hawkins copied the Strat-o-Matic sports simulation game he was so fond of, where players were represented by cards and a roll of the dice determined what happened next, and put the concept into a computer program on a PDP-11 computer at Harvard.

From that slightly plagiaristic and humble beginning Electronic Arts was born and after a couple of false starts, he and Joe Ybarra eventually landed a suitable icon for the American Football game they had created. His name was John Madden.
