Smash Cars crashes on to the PSN next week

TikGames and Creat Studios, the nice people who brought you games like Cuboid and Magic Ball, have another PSN title ready to launch; Smash Cars is coming to the network on 20th August.

Naturally, since this is a follow-up of the original Smash Cars title launched back in 2003, this is a ‘no rules’ RC car racing game, and promises to be a lot of fun.

Yes, Man! Danny Wallace is in Assassin’s Creed 2

Assassin’s Creed 2 is lining up to be one of the biggest PS3 releases ever, which means anyone associated with the title is bound to either be a big name or become one quite soon.

Today, it has been announced that none other than Danny Wallace is playing the part of Shaun Cummings in the swords and sandals sequel. And if there’s one guy we love at PS3 Attitude, it’s Mr. Wallace.

Could Need For Speed Shift spoil GT5′s party?

Need for Speed Shift is the latest in the long-running franchise from EA. And whilst various versions of the game haven’t always hit the right spot, the new edition certainly seems to be rustling a few feathers.

Whilst much of the marketing for this game thus far has centred around the real-life drivers that helped shape the game, we now get to see some actual screenshots.

And we think GT5 might be feeling a little nervous…

So in addition to what you see here, you’ll find us all over the Internet, spreading the word.

Here’s a quick guide to how you can get more involved with the site, have some fun and win prizes along the way.

Oh, and then there’s the whole Killzone 2 Clan thing…

Assassin’s Creed 2 for under £30; have The Hut gone mad?

Assassin’s Creed 2 for under £30; have The Hut gone mad?

The Hut are a UK-based online retailer who have been making waves in the industry. Listed in last year’s Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table, they’re a company on the move.

But we think they may have gone slightly mad of late.

Yesterday they offered Batman: Arkham Asylum for pre-order at a ridiculous knock-down price, and today they’ve followed suit with Assassin’s Creed 2.

Website features update; the bunny boiler edition

Good day dear readers.

The swanky new login bar we implemented recently just didn’t work out. Once we’d got it home, it started re-arranging all our furniture and brought it’s pet bug collection along with it, so we had to be cruel to be kind and kick it out on the street.

But here’s the good news…

LucasArts have announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will see further expansion this Autumn through a new downloadable level that promises to take the story in a new direction.

In addition, they also announced Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, a special new version of the game that will show gamers the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself.

GTA ‘door-checking’ case prosecutor; “The blame lies entirely with Nathan Hartley”

GTA ‘door-checking’ case prosecutor; “The blame lies entirely with Nathan Hartley”

As is our want here at PS3 Attitude, we like to get involved with the politics of gaming every now and then.

On reading the report that Nathan Hartley, an 18-year-old from Maryland in the United States had been sentenced to seven years in prison for an act we’d never heard of before – ‘door-checking’ – what sparked our interest was the insistence that this activity is an integral part of Grand Theft Auto.

But rather than tow the sensationalist line, we asked the prosecutor in this case, John Mark McDonald, what really happened and why GTA was even brought into this courtroom, since we don’t remember seeing this activity in the game at all.

Castle Crashers coming to PSN

Castle Crashers has been a bit of a ‘diamond in the rough’ on Xbox Live Arcade since it became available for download last August.

The game, best described as a 2D sideways scrolling brawler, has even managed minor cult status, along with the obligatory ‘fan art’ movement, thanks to the quirky art style and characters.

Now, Castle Crashers is coming to the PSN and if you’re in San Diego at Comic-con, you can get your hands on the game at the event.
