I've been gaming since I was just a wee lad but it wasn't until about 5-6 years ago that video games really started to grab ahold of me. Now, I play pretty much every day. I enjoy games from just about every genre, although fighting games and JRPG's have yet to really grab me. I'm a particular fan of on-line and co-op game modes, and I really enjoy the social aspects of those kinds of games. I'm always up for talking about games and technology so if you ever see me around, don't be afraid to strike up a conversation.
After a long and grueling month of reading through comment after comment, we’ve finally come to a decision and are ready to reveal the winners for the Platinum Community Member Contest for the month of November. We had a record breaking nine games to give away as part of this contest, so why not see if you’re one of the lucky talented readers that won?
Another month is in the books and in case you missed our November recap, it was a big one. We saw the launch of a couple of goliath games, such as Gran Turismo 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. So which of those did we play the most? Come inside to find out.
My oh my, what an insanely awesome month just passed. November is always known for being a big one in the gaming world but both the amount and quality of the games that just hit shelves is staggering. In case you missed any of them, we’ve got them all right here in one place. To go along with it, we’ve also got the latest news on several new streaming movie/tv apps in both Europe and North America.
It was pretty early in the planning stages of the review that we realized it was going to take more than a single article to go over everything Gran Turismo 5 has to offer. We brought you part one earlier this week and now we’re ready to bring you part two.
Greetings readers, it’s time once again for the PS3 Attitude Platinum Community Member of the month. Per usual, it will still be a few days before we reveal the winners from our elephantine November contest but that’s not going to stop us from showing you what we’re giving away for December.
Fresh off the heals of one of the biggest shopping days of the year and immediately after a similar report out of the Microsoft camp, Sony has announced how many units the Move has sold worldwide so far. Seeing a number this large has to please Sony, as they went on record a while back saying that they expect Move to sell like the Eye Toy did back in the PlayStation 2 days. If it keeps up at this pace, it will shatter those figures.
Zombies are all the rage right now in gaming. It seems like just about every store update has something that involves the undead, and this week is no different. Dead Nation has finally hit the PlayStation Store and you can go grab it right now for only $14.99. Also available is the cute platformer we showed you yesterday, called Funky Lab Rat.
PlayStation Plus members get a decent haul this week as they have access to a free mini, a 20% discount on Dead Nation, and a 50% discount on Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and three PSone titles.
Other than a couple of items that pack a big punch, this is actually kind of a small update. There’s not a ton of game videos or add-ons that hold a lot of weight but hopefully everyone will find something that floats their boat. Take a look at the complete list and let us know what you’ll be picking up.
Shooting zombies in the face. Roasting the dead with a flame thrower. Blowing up monsters with explosives. Creating ultimate carnage with just about any weapon you can imagine. If any of those lines piqued your interest, then you may want to check out the new Dead Nation launch trailer.
E3 is probably the largest gaming event of the year. Regardless of which country you live in or which platform you prefer, it’s pretty likely that you pay attention to E3. If you live in the U.S. and you’re the kind of gamer that likes to see it all happen live, you’re in luck.
While trolling through the suddenly small list of news and press releases today, we stumbled across a rat. A Funky Lab Rat, to be exact. No, we didn’t squeal like little girls and jump on the nearest chair, but rather we watched with intrigue. So what is Funky Lab rat?
Here at PS3 Attitude, there are few things that please us more than seeing a very good game boast very good sales. As you no doubt read from our review, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was indeed a very good game. So far, it looks like it’s also selling very well.
I can’t speak for the rest of the crew but if you’re anything like me, you love Netflix instant streaming. The problem I’ve always had with it is the disc portion. I always feel like I’m paying for something I don’t use because most of the time, whatever disc I have at home usually stays there for the majority of the month. Netflix now has a solution.
The yearly Call of Duty release is upon us again, which can only mean one thing – it’s time for us all to start questioning whether this is finally the year that people start getting sick of Call of Duty. We can’t speak for everyone but after putting a hefty amount of time in to Call of Duty: Black Ops, we can at least share our opinion. So what do we think?
It seems like a lifetime ago when L.A. Noire was announced. The only thing worse than a game taking so long to develop is not hearing any information about it for months at a time. That’s exactly what has happened with L.A. Noire. Luckily, we’re finally starting to see some very good news and media come out of hiding.
Last month we brought you some very extensive gameplay impressions from our time with Deus Ex: Human Revolution at the Eurogamer Expo. To quote Seanoc, “To say that it pleased the crowd would be an understatement.” Now we’ve got a small gameplay video straight from Eidos, which is something that has been quite rare up until now. Sure, there’s those low quality craptastic ‘leaked’ videos but they look like sewage water compared to what we’ve got here. This one comes straight from the source.
Just as we’ve stated a million times before, we’re huge LittleBigPlanet fans here at PS3 Attitude. Even the smallest news out of the Media Molecule camp is usually enough to send us prancing around the office. Then there’s announcements like the one we got today, when they roll out so much awesomeness all at once that it makes our heads explode… as we’re prancing.
There are a fair amount of folks out there that aren’t big fans of HD remakes. We personally don’t understand it; you get full games in HD, they usually come with their own full set of trophies and they cost a fraction of what new full games cost. What’s not to love? Today, Sony announced that another classic franchise is coming to the PSN along with its own remake treatment. Click the title to see the full story.
Delays are never something we like to see here at PS3 Attitude. Sure, if a game is not finished and needs a few more months in the oven, we’re all for it but ideally we would like to see them hit their launch windows every time. That has not been the case with both Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Driver: San Fransisco, and unfortunately we’ll be waiting even longer than expected for both them to hit shelves.
Dead Nation has been a scorching hot topic around the Attitude Towers as of late and with good reason. Call us zombie fanboys all you want but this game is looking good and anything that comes from the studio that gave us Stardust HD is certainly worth a look. Today we finally got a solid launch date for both North America and Europe. Come inside to see what it is.
