Bad news today as Sony’s Network Product and Services Division – which is home to the PlayStation operation – has posted a massive $889m loss despite seeing the PS3 sell three million more units than the previous year.
So how are they losing money?
UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has dismissed claims that the TV advert for PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain is offensive.
If you ask us there are plenty of more patronising, ridiculous adverts out there to get worked up about than this one.
EA continue to impress with the introduction of a co-op mode to its multi million selling game – Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Call of Duty – you are dismissed!
Over the past decade Bungie and Microsoft have been inseparable. In Microsoft, Bungie found the perfect partner with limitless resources to fund their epic Halo brand.
So surely the 360 would be the automatic choice as lead console for their new IP?
Sony has been awfully quiet regarding certain aspects of the PlayStation Move. We don’t blame them, as revealing their cards too early could be a crucial mistake in this years battle of the motion peripherals.
The most we’ve heard is mutterings of a sub $100 price tag, but nothing concrete. Unfortunately somebody forgot to tell GameStop Canada not to spill the beans, as they posted the Move’s price on their website.
So – what’s the magic number?
It’s a well known fact that – by and large – games are awesome. However, there’s nothing quite like sitting down and reading a good book.
If only someone would combine our love of gaming with our love of reading…
EA has caused an uproar with the announcement that – from next month – if you purchase an EA Sports title second hand you will be required to pay an additional fee, or be locked out of playing online.
But are they really the bad guy in all of this?
The PS3 has been sadly lacking in Apes over the past few years. Sure we’ve had Super Monkey Ball characters in Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, and that freaky little wrinkled cola addict from Metal Gear Solid 4 – but wouldn’t it be nice to have a whole game dedicated to them?
Well good news – the PS3 is set to be invaded!
You’ve all seen the announcement trailer by now right? Plus the wealth of information we reported on earlier? Awesome – but it seems that LittleBigPlanet 2 is set to offer even more in the form of Move support.
Sackboy – we heart you!
Much has been written about Demon’s Souls, but sometimes seeing a game in action can make or break a day one purchase.
If a picture is worth 1000 words, then surely this trailer is equal to a whole book?
On Saturday we brought you the news that Media Molecule had confirmed the existence of LittleBigPlanet 2 – well now the June issue of Game Informer has reached the hands of subscribers featuring a look at the game.
We are simply stunned.
The waters of E3 have been choppy as of late. The convention was well known for its size and grandeur, but it was this that led to its eventual reduction in size as companies struggled to foot the bill for large and lavish stands.
The new look E3 tanked though – as it equated to nothing more than a few boring looking meetings. Last year saw a partial return to the E3 of old, but apparently that was nothing to what we can expect this year.
Excited? Us? Well, maybe a little (lot).
Every gamer worth their salt recognises Pac-Man. The icon and his trademark ‘wakka-wakka-wakka’ sound effects are known all over the world, and have even been parodied in modern animations and remixed into songs.
But at thirty years old, should he munch his last pill?
Those with OCD better back away, as Team Attitudes weekly FirstPlay rundown is moving from Friday to Thursday to coincide with the new PSN store updates.
Well it’s finally here. We’ve waited, gone through BETA tests and waited some more – now FirstPlay is upon us.
But is it worth your money?
EA Play has announced that MySims SkyHeroes – a new flying action-adventure and the next instalment from the MySims franchise – is heading to the PS3.
The world of Ultimate Fighting is set to return to consoles later this month with UFC Undisputed 2010.
Can this game fix last year’s problems and deliver a knockout blow to both the WWE and Fight Night games, as well as fending off EA’s upcoming MMA game?
Crytek has a lot to prove when it comes to Crysis 2. It seems lately all they have done is rubbish other franchises in a bid to get their hype machine started – it’s lucky Crysis 2 has us so interested!
So what can they tell us about the aliens in the game?
Big sunglasses, leather jackets and dodgy call signs are set to come back into fashion as SEGA brings 2006 arcade hit ‘After Burner Climax’ to the PSN.
But is this more Goose than Maverick?
The official GameStation Twitter account has sent out a cautionary message today regarding another GameStation account that is claiming to be selling BETA codes to desperate gamers.
