The Star Wars game time line is one that is crammed full of ups and downs. Unfortunately 2008s ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ was a mediocre affair, and didn’t really live up to the hype that surrounded it.
However- the potential was there. Can Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 up the ante?

Well it’s finally here. We’ve waited, gone through BETA tests and waited some more – now FirstPlay is upon us.
But is it worth your money?

SEGA has cut a total of 73 jobs in its North American and European studios in a major reshuffle that will focus more on the digital sector.
Is this the death of the boxed product at SEGA?

Sony is in the process of signing a deal which will bring Major League Baseball’s live streaming service to the PS3 – further cementing the tagline ‘it only does everything.’
The deal should be done by the end of the week – so prepare yourselves!

The Transformer concept is one that should be ideal for creating a fantastic video game. Giant robots smacking seven bells out of each other, whilst morphing into vehicles – how could it possibly go wrong?
Well it has gone wrong in the past, several times in fact – but High Moon Studios upcoming ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron’ looks set to put all the bad stuff behind it.
Let’s roll out!

Today has been quite a GAME focused news day, with announcements of volcano related game delays and profit drops (non volcano related!).
Now they have unveiled their plans for the future – with a focus on digital business.

To be honest, for many of us gamers the headline won’t be very surprising. Brain training games have been big business over the last couple of years, with Nintendo’s platforms in particular being flooded with them.
Well we hope everyone kept their receipts – because the claim that you can “train your brain in minutes a day” seems to be a false one.

OK so maybe that’s a bit dramatic – but there is no doubt that the erupting volcano in Iceland has been causing havoc all over the world. Writing the volcano’s proper name gives us wrist ache, so from here on in we shall refer to it as ‘Volcano M.Bision’.
GAME has now commented that Volcano M.Bison may cause delay to some of the releases coming out over the next few weeks.

Tony Hawk has been a bit of a naughty chap today and leaked the name of his next game via Twitter.
Activision is not going to be happy – in fact they have most likely summoned the Acti-ninjas.

There’s no doubt SOCOM 4 was announced to a mixed reception – but the revelation that it would come with Move support has certainly grabbed people’s attention.
But can such a focused shooter work with motion controls? Can Zipper Interactive get to grips with the Move to do the series justice? CEO Brian Soderberg certainly thinks so.

A new trailer has emerged for Namco’s smash-em-up, Splatterhouse – featuring a combination of blood, head smashing and opera. What – what?

Remember Activision’s statement a while ago regarding a new action adventure Call of Duty game is in the works? Nothing much has been released about it so far other than it’s being developed by Sledgehammer Games.
Activision …

We feel that demons get a lot of bad press sometimes, and if Freekscape: Escape from Hell’s protagonist – Freek – is anything to go by, it’s all unjustified as the little red dude has a heart of gold – or at the very least, stainless steel.
But does this side scrolling platformer make us want to get our Freek on? Sorry – someone had to say it.

Zipper’s support of MAG continues as they announce patch V1.05 coming this Monday, 19th April at 1am Pacific/ 4am Eastern/ 9am GMT.
Normal rules apply – just boot up the game and follow the download instructions. The patch weighs in at about 40mb.
Oh Zipper you do spoil us.

Ever wondered what SingStar would be like if it got drunk and a little angry? Well wonder no more as Konami has announced it has agreed an exclusive distribution agreement with Autumn Games, 4mm Games and Def Jam Interactive for the upcoming music videogame Def Jam Rapstar.

At long last Demon’s Souls has been confirmed for Europe – albeit in very limited stock. Our saviour is none other than Namco, who has decided to pick up the distribution rights – go and sit in the naughty corner Sony!
If you want our advice you should go and pre-order right now!

Crytek’s CEO – Cervat Yerli – has been speaking to OXM regarding the difference between PC and console gamers.
His comments are bound to split opinion.

Sony has confirmed that it is set to release its 3D TV range this June – which will coincide nicely with the World Cup and the twenty five games that will be filmed and broadcast in 3D.
Early adopters will be getting some nice goodies to go with their shiny new TV – if you have a PS3 that is.
