I have been an avid gamer since I learned how to hold a controller. My favorite games include Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, Ratchet & Clank, Resident Evil; the list could probably go on forever. I am also a big movie and television junkie. Pretty much anything technological or entertainment-related will satisfy my curiosity.

We’ve always spoken highly of SpecialEffect, the UK-based charity that helps disabled people play video games through inovative methods. As you’re well aware, our very own DolphGB is tackling the toughest 10k in the country in an effort to raise money for GamesAid, a UK charity which supports companies like SpecialEffect.
Check out the following video to see just exactly what they do and why you should support this wonderful cause.

This week’s North American PS Store update brings Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD to join its Resident Evil 4 HD brethren from last week. There’s also the PSN exclusive Rochard from Sony Online Entertainment and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair if zombies don’t suit your fancy.

Journey is a game that has been on everybody’s radar since it was announced way back at E3 2010 by thatgamecompany. Since then we’ve seen plenty of screenshots and gameplay videos and have even had the opportunity to play the game in its closed beta most recently. Even so, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the title, one of which being its release date.
Wonder no longer because Journey will be coming in spring 2012, announced thatgamecompany on the PlayStation.Blog.

On the first day of Eurogamer Expo 2011, thousands of gamers packed into Earls Court to sample the biggest upcoming games and listen to some of the biggest developers in the world. We were only able to see a glimpse of what the expo has to offer but we did get some time with PS Vita, Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3.
Here are some thoughts from today’s conferences.

THQ has announced today that award winning studio Crytek will be developing the next installment of the commercially successful Homefront franchise.
Crytek is no small name to the FPS genre, having devloped such gems as Far Cry and the Crysis series. No doubt it’ll be interesting to see the studio’s new direction for Homefront.

The WipEout series has been a PlayStation stable since its initial release in 1995 and has appeared on every platform in some form. Released in 2008, WipEout HD marked the series’ debut on the PS3 with 1080p graphics, 60 frames per second visuals, and 5.1 surround sound. In essence, it was one of the biggest downloadable titles at its time, with a $19.99 price tag to prove it.
It was worth every penny though as the game featured five game modes, online play, split screen multiplayer and an optional SIXAXIS control scheme. For these reasons and more, WipEout HD is #3 on PS3 Attitude’s Top 20 PSN titles.

When it comes to pinball games, Zen Studios is the champion. First the development studio brought us creative tables that delved into the depths of our imagination with Zen Pinball. What originally started as four tables soon evolved to 11, including tribute tables to popular franchises such as Street Fighter and Ninja Gaiden.
Then in 2010, they kicked it up a notch and released Marvel Pinball; a collection of tables devoted solely to our favorite superheroes. Who doesn’t like Blade, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Wolverine? Marvel Pinball essentially revitalized the pinball genre and brought it to a whole new audience.
For this reason, we have selected Marvel Pinball as our #14 pick in PS3 Attitude’s Top 20 PSN titles.

This weeks PlayStation Store update is the first one this month, meaning PlayStation Plus members will see a whole slew of new content, both for free and at a discounted price. Don’t worry if you’re not a PS+ member as there is still plenty of content available for download. Rayne is back in an all new vampire adventure with Bloodrayne: Betrayal. There’s also the God of War: Origins demo for you to try out. See below for the full list of content.

Released in late 2010, players all over the globe have yet to take a break from slaying zombie hordes in Dead Nation. 3.8 million players as a matter of fact. The support for the PSN exclusive title has yet to dwindle as the game has reached an amazing milestone; 11,700,000,000 zombies killed! That’s a lot of rotting flesh.
As a reward for our dedication to decapitation, Housemarque has announced that the studio is busy developing a new chapter for Dead Nation called Road to Devastation.

Frankly, we don’t really have to tell you much about Shatter in that you already know it’s a fantastic game. It should come as no surprise then that it makes #17 on our Top 20 PSN titles.

While zombies and a haunted village are good and all, they pale in comparison to knights in shining armor, four knights as a matter of fact. Castle Crashers invaded the PlayStation Network nearly two years after their Xbox 360 counterpart but it was definitely worth the wait for fans The Behemoth.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is set in the year 2027 and features biomechanical augmentations that allow humans to essentially transcend their physical bodies and execute tasks that would otherwise seem impossible. While Deus Ex may take place in a fictional world, the technology present in it isn’t as far fetched as you might think.

Deus Ex Machina literally means ‘god out of machine,’ referring to ancient Greek dramas in which a god would be introduced into a play in order resolve some improbable plot. In Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the player takes on the role of Adam Jensen, a man turned mostly machine after a deadly attack at Sarif Industries. In an effort to discover who is behind the attack, Adam becomes entangled in a mess of conspiracies, lies, and deception. The choices you make throughout the game determine the fate of humanity.
Will you strive to do what is right, regardless of the situation, or will you embrace the machine in you and live as a god?
