I have been an avid gamer since I learned how to hold a controller. My favorite games include Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, Ratchet & Clank, Resident Evil; the list could probably go on forever. I am also a big movie and television junkie. Pretty much anything technological or entertainment-related will satisfy my curiosity.
Remember the classic Combat2600 on your old school Atari? No? Well, two players would navigate their blocks (tanks) around a board filled with walls and attempt to destroy each other. Back in the day, it was a blast!
Gameloft has decided to bring that classic gameplay back with Battle Tanks, a rocket filled playground where the last tank standing is victorious.
Infinity Ward have updated their YouTube page with a new video showcasing a multiplayer match of Capture the Flag. Watch as two soldiers use teamwork to completely dominate the map and successfully deliver the flag to their base.
Gunfire, explosions, rockets; Modern Warfare 2 appears to have everything of a AAA game. Be sure to watch through the entire video to see some that the gun is not always mightier than the sword…
If you ever felt like you were destined for something more than rocking out in the comfort of your own living room, the Rock Band Bar Nights is the thing for you. Now you can take your show on the road to your local watering hole and perform in front of a roaring crowd.
Bars across the U.S. can now host their own Rock Band parties; complete with everything needed to throw the ultimate rock out.
Gameplay, graphics, storyline; these have always been the defining element in video games. Not to be outdone, the score of a game is becoming equally important.
Below are some of the games that have left lasting impressions, sometimes even more so than the gameplay itself. Rhythm games, such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, are not included as they revolve around music, and let’s face it, we already know how awesome their soundtracks are.
The Ratchet & Clank series have always been about exploration and collecting. Up until now, this feature has been targeted at the various worlds that the duo explore. Space has always been seen as just a glimpse from the cockpit of your ship or as a brief shooter style level in which you are hindered to a set path.
With A Crack in Time, you’ll be able to take full control over your spacecraft and travel wherever you wish to go; exploring moons, asteroid belts, and whatever other surprises you might find.
This weeks new arrivals to the PSN Video Store include action, comedy, magic, and a little bit of mystery. To top off the list is Zach Snyder’s amazing adaptation of the graphic novel 300. Watching it will make you think why is this just now making it to the PSN?
Also near the top of our suggestion list is I Love You, Man staring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. If you’re a Harry Potter fan then The Order of the Phoenix is the choice for you. If you can’t seem to find a film to your liking, then perhaps one of the hundreds of television shows will catch your eye.
While Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao was supposed to hit the North American PSN yesterday, a little hiccup has caused a delay in the update. In case you couldn’t wait any longer for the game, Blitz Games have kindly put the entire soundtrack up online for everyone to enjoy.
The latest issue of Famitsu brings us details of two new characters to the Final Fantasy XIII universe; Jill Nabato and Yaag Rosch. Despite appearing in the latest trailer at E3 this year, up until now, we have had no details on these two antagonists of Lightning.
We all know that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is going to be huge. First came the announcement of the massive Prestige Edition, complete with night vision goggles, and now we have Mad Catz, the accessory guru, bringing us official MW2 themed merchandise.
From controllers to faceplates, Mad Catz has all your areas covered. Below are the different accessories and their descriptions along with suggested retail prices.
Before the Street Fighter IVs and the BlazBlues, there was a little game on the Dreamcast called Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.
Even to this day, MvC2 is still played in tournaments across the country, and copies are sold on eBay for ridiculous amounts.
Thankfully you no longer have to give an arm and a leg to play this wonderful game…
We knew that Nathan Drake would be tracking through snow and ice in his latest adventure. We saw him run across a crowded city only to be shot at by ground troops and helicopters.
Now, witness Nate taverse a labyrinthine cavern high in the Tibetan mountains. He’ll need all the parkour skills he can muster up if he is to stay alive in this puzzling challenge level entitled Heart of Ice…
What looks like a trip to Blockoland gone horribly wrong is actually the latest creation of From Software. The simply titled 3D Dot Game Heroes is an upcoming 3D RPG made entirely from tiny square blocks.
And when we say entirely, we mean everything. The characters, the environment, and even the little treasure chests are comprised of these cubes.
Gravity Crash somehow eluded us when it debuted back in June at E3 but while at Gamescom, we were treated to the announcement that not only would the game be coming to the PS3 but the PSP as well via the PSN Store.
Players will pilot their spaceship through labyrinth style caverns shooting lasers at almost anything that moves. It’s a fun little shooter that packs a big punch…
Let’s admit it, Heaven is where we all want to end up but Hell is where the party is. Come February, everyone will get their chance to follow Dante through the nine circles of Hell as he attempts to rescue his lady love from the grasp of Beelzebub.
The release date has been set for February 9th for North Americans with Europeans joining them shortly after on the 12th. While Hell is reserved for the worst of the worst, that doesn’t mean you have to be one of them. Featured in Dante’s Inferno will be a new Morality System to test your faith…
No, we are not refering to the next new and exciting product from Apple but the official BBC media player. The iPlayer allows users to stream/download clips, shows, and other features from the BBC. Up until now, the service has only been available on PS3 consoles through the integrated web browser.
Announced at Gamescom, Sony will be partnering with BBC to bring an official version of the streaming service to the PS3…
It’s been quite a successful day for Sony. With the announcement of the PS3 Slim along with a new lower price and the Video Store making it’s way to the UK, people are going to have a lot of extra cash on hand. What better way to spend it than on a prepaid PSN card!
Remember when we showed you the box art for the upcoming Game of the Year edition of LittleBigPlanet and also told you of it’s $30 worth of extra goodies? Well we now we have the exclusive BACK of the boxart for your viewing pleasure. Oh, and what’ll be included in this edition as well, but that’s not important, right?
Randy Couture is probably the most known name in the Mixed Martial Arts community. At 6’1” and 220 pounds, this tank of a man is a force you don’t want to reckon with. His 16-9 record and five time MMA Champion reinforces that fact.
He will be joining the likes of fellow headliner, Fedor Emelianenko, and Jay “The Thoroughbred” Hieron in fighting for the MMA title.
This weeks PSN Video Store update brings another truck load of movies and television shows but nothing really catches our eye. There is a hodgepodge of content from Babe to Carlito’s Way to Big Trouble in Little China.
The top downloads are still being dominated by less than mediocre films. Why? We have no clue but perhaps something this week will knock them out of the top spot.
Personally, we would recommend Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or Garden State if you’re not in the mood for something as depressing.
