With PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale fast approaching and its roster fully revealed, talk has turned to who may be introduced at a later date as DLC.

Keeping up with the current strong selection, Kat and Emmett will be joining the fight as free DLC early next year.

Developer Giant Sparrow’s arty paint-throwing title is coming exclusively to PSN on 24 October 2012 in Europe, so we assume North America gets it a day earlier. But better yet, if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you get it an entire week earlier!

Despite the title of the game, it actually will be finished when it goes up on the PlayStation store and you won’t need to spend extra to unlock missing parts, etc.

Escape Plan gets new DLC; direct controls

Escape Plan, an artistic puzzler on the Vita, has received another bunch of DLC as well as a patch – 1.04 – which allows you to use the handhelds buttons rather than the touch controls.

We imagine this will be a Godsend to those who find the touch controls to be too temperamental, especially when playing on a train or in a car where the any form of jolt can send Lil and Laarg plummeting to their deaths.

Sony has revealed the release dates for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and shockingly, there’s a huge gap of 1 month where North America receives the title on 5 February, 2012 whilst Europe will see it early March.

Deep Silver has released a trailer for upcoming Techland developed game Dead Island: Riptide titled ‘When all hope is lost.’

Square-Enix have announced the latest installment in the Final Fantasy XIII saga dubbed Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Judging by the title, we assume we’re going to play as a Chocobo but it’s all up in the air, really.

Motomu Toriyama, the series director, has said that the game will be the conclusion of Lightning’s saga.

Hideo Kojima revealed a new title in the Metal Gear series, Ground Zeroes, during a Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event. We assume it made its glorious debut by flying out from a battered cardboard box.

It will be open-world and feature Big Boss rather than Solid Snake if the first promotional artwork is anything to go by.

Don’t you hate it when you call in a care package and all that is to be found inside is banana skins, underwear and, well, a really cool flying drone that you take control of and when spotted, you say, “this is not the droid you are looking for” and escape?
