Eurogamer Expo 2011; More Q&A with Richard Lemarchand and Nolan North

As well as the main Uncharted 3 conference, PS3 Attitude was also invited to a more private developer session with Richard Lemarchand and Nolan North, on Saturday afternoon. Sadly, we weren’t allowed to film some of it, but we were at least able to shoot the Q&A that rounded off the meeting.

Of the dozens of games at the Eurogamer Expo, the title PS3 Attitude was most interested in hearing about was Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. We’ve already shown you arguably the highlight of the entire event, but the rest of it was pretty good too!…

Resistance 3 – The PS3 Attitude Review (Part 1: Singleplayer)

When it comes to exclusive franchises on the PlayStation 3, everyone has their favourites, but only one can claim to have been there from day one – Resistance. If you purchased a PS3 in the early days, the chances are you also bought Resistance: Fall of Man, Insomniac’s first venture into the next-generation, and the stand-out title during the console’s slow start.

Two years later, this was followed up by Resistance 2, which was equally well received by critics, but greeted with disdain by many fans, due to Insomniac’s change of direction with the series, and the toning down of aspects that made the first game unique. So, does Resistance 3 stand tall as its own game or descend into the bottomless pit of ‘me too’ shooters?

PSN release for awesome RPG Bastion is ‘possible’

Upon its release in July, Bastion was met with near universal acclaim, due to its deep story, satisfying gameplay, and incredible presentation. Unfortunately for PS3 users, Bastion is currently only available on Xbox Live and Steam. However, PS3 Attitude contacted the developer, and they revealed that a PSN release for their awesome debut title isn’t out of the question…

PS3 Attitude’s 20 Days of PSN: #8 – Beyond Good & Evil HD

If you were a fan of action/adventure or platformer games on the PS2, the chances are you played Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank. However, one game you probably didn’t play was 2003’s Beyond Good & Evil, which despite being very well received by critics, was a commercial failure.

Luckily, Ubisoft has given all of us who missed it the first time around a second chance to experience it, in the form of Beyond Good & Evil HD, which features updated visuals and PSN trophies, and is available for a ridiculously low price.

Welcome to PS3 Attitude’s 20 Days of PSN! [Updated with full list]

The PlayStation Network has come a very long way in the last five years.

Believe it or not, there was a time when merely a handful of games were available on the PlayStation Store, and only a fraction of those were actually worth playing. However, nowadays, Sony’s online service is full to bursting with quality titles that have no doubt had your virtual wallet begging for mercy on more than one occasion.

White Knight Chronicles II – The PS3 Attitude Review

White Knight Chronicles II – The PS3 Attitude Review

In February 2010, the international version of the PS3-exclusive JRPG White Knight Chronicles was released, over a year after the game first appeared on store shelves in Japan. Despite selling well in its native country, the title failed to truly strike a chord with critics and gamers in the West, due to its lacklustre story, disappointing online mode, and several other issues.

White Knight Chronicles II came out a few weeks ago in Europe, this time only eleven months after it originally released in Japan (unfortunately North America is still waiting for a firm release date, but the title is finally expected to arrive in September). So, the question is, has developer Level-5 improved upon the shortcomings of the game’s predecessor?

Limbo – The PS3 Attitude Review

Every so often, a PSN game will come along that rivals most full-retail titles in terms of its scope, innovation and presentation. Braid and Flower are two such games, and now you can add Limbo to that list, which is a definite contender for our favourite PSN game of the year.

Limbo comes from the disturbed mind of Danish developer Arnt Jensen, and is the first title released by the independent Copenhagen-based studio, Playdead. The title was originally released last year, but finally made its way to the PS Store last week, complete with an exclusive new area.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer beta impressions

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer beta impressions

The Uncharted series is one of the highest rated franchises on PlayStation 3, and is arguably the most popular, due to its engaging story and characters, entertaining and fluid gameplay, and the best graphics on Sony’s console.

However, as good as it was, the online multiplayer component of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was often overlooked by many gamers when compared to the impressive single player campaign, which is real shame considering the game’s high quality.

This is something that Naughty Dog is keen to address in the series’ upcoming release, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Therefore, the team is pulling out all the stops to make Uncharted 3 the killer online app on PlayStation 3.

E3 11; Half a million people visit PlayStation Home

E3 11; Half a million people visit PlayStation Home

When it first launched over two and a half years ago, PlayStation Home was seen as a bold experiment by Sony, which, if marketed well, had massive potential. Unfortunately, despite a huge increase in the amount of content available in Home since then, most gamers have ignored the service, as there is arguably no real incentive to keep logging in.

However, it seems that Home isn’t quite as dead as many of us thought, because half a million gamers have logged into the service over E3 and visited Sony’s dedicated E3 space, which included a live stream of the company’s press conference. Last year’s similar Home event only attracted a quarter of a million users, although it did not include a live stream.
