PS3 Attitude is pleased to welcome on board three new writers. Like the rest of our team, they are giving up their time free of charge to deliver the news to you and help us raise more money for charity.

In addition to our new writers, we’re further expanding our operation to include a number of back-office volunteers who will be helping to maintain our presence across social networks, such as Facebook for example.

Sony pleased with PS3 Slim sales, “ahead of expectations”

The first details of the reception that the new PS3 Slim has received are starting to crawl in, and it’s good news.

According to Chart-Track, sales in the UK are eleven times higher last week than the one before. Granted, stock for the original PS3 was small and many gamers were waiting for the Slimmer console, but this is still a massive achievement.

Sony has been showing off what they could have in store for the PS3’s PlayStation Home at Japan’s CESA Developers Conference.

Although they were just demos, they did demonstrate what sort of content the company are looking at for the service in the future.

Sony has launched a brand new website as part of their PlayStation 3 advertising campaign in Europe.

Previously, when entering start-ps3.com, which can be seen at the end of every commercial, you would be just directed to the full PlayStation website.

Sony has been speaking to Edge magazine where they have made some interesting comments regarding the PlayStation 3.

Game companies and analysts in the past have predicted that the current generation of consoles will last longer than previously, and Andrew House, head of SCEE shares this view, at least for the PS3 anyway.

PlayStation Store enhanced further with new “View Modes”

Last year, after the complete PlayStation Store revamp, Sony allowed gamers to change the view mode of the items displayed on the PlayStation Store from just pictures to a list format.

We have now discovered that recently, most likely in 3.0, they have added a further two modes that you can see in the video.

Shuhei Yoshida, president of worldwide studios for Sony Computer Entertainment, believes that the company was “late” in bringing a proper integrated online experience for the PlayStation brand.

The one feature that the PS3 Slim lacks but all of its bigger and fatter brothers do have is the support for ‘Other OS’, in other words the ability to install Linux on the system.
