We don’t often write reviews for minis at PS3 Attitude, but we make an exception for titles as fun as The Marbians, a physics-based puzzler developed by Denmark-based developer OASO, which is the company’s first venture into the world of PlayStation.
You probably spotted the Netflix logo on your XMB this week. Well. The service went live today, and in doing so it introduced some much needed competition to the UK streaming market. Do you need proof? Just look at the reaction of rival LOVEFiLM, who responded to the launch with a new cheaper contract of its own.
We’ve moved on from 2011, but what a fine year it was. It was a year packed with many highlights: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Portal 2, Skyrim, L.A. Noire and Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City, to name just a few.
But we now turn our collective eyes towards the gems 2012 will bestow on us, and it looks set to be another fantastic year.
Over two articles, the PS3 Attitude’s writers are selecting their three most anticipated games of 2012. Staff writers Stefhutch20 and Ryanmoto3 put their votes forward in part 1 and editors DolphGB, Majiesto and Seanoc are following up now.
So without further ado, here are the hottest PS3 games of 2012, selected by Team Attitude.

Over two articles, PS3 Attitude’s writers are each selecting their three most anticipated games of 2012. Staff writers Stefhutch20 and Ryanmoto3 will put their votes forward in part 1 and editors DolphGB, Majiesto and Seanoc will follow up later with part 2.

Another year over. A new one just begun.
2011 was a real corker for the PlayStation 3. And for PS3 Attitude too. We got up to all sorts of shenanigans over the last twelve months, and some of us still have the bruises to prove it.
But this isn’t going to be one of those lame retrospective list articles that counts down our favourite moments from the last year. Oh no. This is 2012. This is about what comes next.
So strap yourselves in and get ready for the ride.
2011 was a superb year for video games with titles such as Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Killzone 3, Modern Warfare 3, and a slew of other games, both with and without 3 in the title. With so many great contenders out there, it’s been difficult to pick just one to crown as Game of the Year.
I’ll admit that narrowing down my list of top games was a difficult task, but there was always one game that stuck out most; one game that managed to satisfy every criteria in my head; one game that excelled in all aspects. As a result, I’ve chosen Deus Ex: Human Revolution as the best game of 2011.
Now that I’ve had some time to look back at the year that was 2011 (technically still is in fact), it’s no longer hyperbole to declare it one of the industry’s best since the dawn of Pong. Nearly every highly-anticipated game made good on its potential (except for you, Dragon Age II), making it nearly impossible to widdle this embarrassment of riches down to a solitary game.
If I were to write about my favourite games of 2011, this article would be ten times longer, and no one would ever finish reading it. Therefore, to spare people from slowly losing the will to live, I’ve somehow managed to cut it down to just one amazing title.
Dear friends of PS3 Attitude,
Do you hear that sound? It’s the sound of PS3 games being unwrapped in houses across the world. People are waking up to Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3 and other things with 3 in the title. Some are even finally joining the club by getting their first PS3.
It’s also the sound of Team Attitude shouting out a loud and cheerful merry Christmas to our many friends out there. You all know who you are and we hope you are all having a tip-top day.
Check out EA’s new Tricky gameplay trailer for SSX. It has Melon grabs, Switch Indy grabs, Seatbelt grabs and other types of grabs – basically, it shows more grabs than we can realistically get a grip of.
So it all comes down to this; the final entry in PS3 Attitude’s Skyrim Journal.
It’s easy to be sniffy about Magic Pixel Games’ Move-using Carnival Island. Hey, I like to play hardcore games aimed at adults, and this is clearly not one of those. It’s also been so long since I was of the age that would — in theory — appreciate this, it’s hard to give a proper judgement without sounding patronising. So, now we’ve got that disclaimer out the way, let’s get on with the review.
As you’re well aware, our fearless leader will be running one of the toughest 10k obstacle courses in the country. Not only that, but he’ll be doing it all for charity. So far we’ve managed to raise a little more than £200 for GamesAid, PS3 Attitude’s charity of choice. We know we can do better than that, though. So, how about a little incentive to encourage donations?
We’ve scoured through the PS3 Attitude offices and contacted our loyal developer friends and have gathered up some awesome prizes that include video games, t-shirts, download codes, and a whole lot more.
Here’s what we have gathered so far and what you have to do for your chance to win…
Rumours that Rockstar North are working on a new Grand Theft Auto game have been flying around for a couple of years now. Finally, last week Rockstar confirmed what everyone already knew, and announced Grand Theft Auto V to the world.
Along with the game’s announcement came the news that the first trailer would be released on 2nd November. That just happens to be today, and the trailer is live right now!
BAFTA Games last week hosted a Game Writers Panel in London, during which experienced writers Edward Stern (Brink), Rhianna Pratchett (Mirror’s Edge) and James Swallow (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) covered a variety of topics on the subject of narrative design.
Rockstar Games quietly revealed what everyone practically already knew; Grand Theft Auto V is currently in the works. They did it by simply updating their www.rockstargames.com website with the logo of the upcoming game, continuing with the Roman numeral numbering of the sequel instead of a subtitle, ala San Andreas.
The website also reveals that the debut trailer for the game will be released next week on November 2nd.
In 2009 Rocksteady Studios rescued the superhero genre from the depths of mediocrity and disappointment with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Making it safe for fans everywhere to thrust themselves into Bruce Wayne’s cape and cowl without hesitation.
While in development, the narrative surrounding Batman: Arkham City (BAC) evolved to whether or not it could surpass the lauded achievements of the original. Having spent considerable time with Arkham City we can lay to rest any and all reservations concerning Rocksteady’s second tour with the Dark Knight with a decisive yes.
The Battlefield 3 launch trailer shows off Frostbyte 2′s superior ability to create impressive visuals, animations, tactical destruction, sound and scale.
That is, however, all stuff that we’ve seen before in previous trailers and gameplay footage. What makes this trailer interesting though is that it reveals fresh details about the singleplayer campaign.
Is it just me or is 1000 Tiny Claws a creepy name? It evokes horrible thoughts of dark places and thousands of little insect munching away at my tender flesh. Maybe I should have left that for the therapist…
