The sequel to the highly popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just been confirmed. Announced as part Activision’s forth quarter earnings call for 2009, Modern Warfare 2 is sure to impress. While we have no details on what Infinity Ward is up to this time around, an executive from the company stated that the game will be the most anticipated for the end of 2009.
Once again, it is that time of year when the video game industry gathers together to find out who has been nominated for a glittering prize.
This year’s GAME British Academy Video Games Awards offer up a real smorgasbord of titles, with CoD4 raking in a massive seven nominations closely followed by six for GTA: IV…
Straight from the annals of “We could have told you that ages ago” zombie frag-fest Dead Rising has been confirmed as a multiplatform title with the PS3 now being shown some undead love. Eww … that didn’t come out right.
Following the incredible work Brodiesan put into the Games of 2009 series, we have now consolidated everything into a single 2009 PS3 Games Database so you can keep tabs on what is on the horizon for our favourite console.
We’ll be constantly updating the database as the year progresses to ensure it is the one place you can visit to find out what is going on with your favourite games. It’ll also be a good place to hang out if you want to impress your friends with some of the more obscure titles (“What do you mean you haven’t heard of Islands of Wakfu”).

Leave no game behind. That’s our motto. The Games of 2009 series may be over but the list is most definitely incomplete. Read on to find out what we’ve decided to do to remedy the situation.
Despite all the negative press about Sony’s profits (or lack of) recently, it appears that they do understand that in a down economy you need to flash some marketing cash to help pull yourself up.
And that is precisely what Sony have planned for Killzone 2 – a £2m spending spree that will see, amongst other things, the neatest sounding web-based game we’ve heard of for some time.
We haven’t heard of Matt Hazard in a really, really long time. We almost completely forgot about him here at PS3 Attitude. You may remember the original “The Adventures of Matt in Hazard Land”, the ground breaking “Matt Hazard 3D” or the wildly successful and now legendary console game “You Only Live 1,317 Times”.

In the meantime, look at what the best game character you’ve never heard of has been up to all these years. Consider yourself warned though, it’s not all good.

Our ‘Best DLC’ award winners for 2008 are at it again. Criterion are about to release yet another free update for Burnout Paradise.
Arriving on February 6th, the latest update brings a whole raft of changes and is timed to coincide with their first paid-for DLC, the Burnout Paradise Party Pack.
So what can you expect from this latest downloadable delectation?
The last in our four part series (and flagrantly late – sorry about that) we take a look at the Games of 2009 from the end of the alphabet. Team Ico’s project, Uncharted 2, The Witcher – there’s some good ones in here people.
Dylan Jobe, director of Warhawk, reveals in a Twitter post that he has presented his new game to Sony. Could it be the fabled Warhawk sequel or was it something completely new? And did Sony like it? Read on for our impressions.
Our beloved PS3 is about to gain another upgrade through Firmware v2.60.
The evergreen Eric Lempel of SCEA has been detailing the latest features in the video below, which include some excellent new photo management capabilities though the new Photo Gallery software as well as a DivX upgrade and guest access to the PS Store.

One thing is for sure; when it comes to creating LittleBigPlanet content, I’m a newbie.
And when I see levels like Ultimate Pinball Challenge – created by the obviously talented UrbanDevil – it makes me wonder if I will ever generate anything that even comes close to ‘downright average’, let alone ‘ultimate’.
The best thing to do? Let everyone else keep coming up with awesome levels like this one and then play the field…

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin demo will be available to all PSN users next week. The demo features the city of Auburn now laid waste after Alma’s little hissy fit in the first game. The full game launches in just over three weeks so the demo should convince those on the fence whether or not F.E.A.R. is worthy of a purcahse. Or not.

The PS3 browser has always done a pretty good job of showing YouTube videos, especially since YouTube themselves started supporting 720p resolution.
But that is all about to get a lot better.
