We are well into the second half of 2012 and feel the need to look back on some of the best releases the first two quarters of 2012 had. The year is usually so heavily packed with AAA releases during the holiday months that it’s easy to forget about the gems that came before them.
Each member of the PS3 Attitude team has assigned a point value of 5, 3, and 1 to their top three games of 2012 thus far, allowing us to create a list of the top five games. In the end we had a list well over 10 games. Here are our top five.
Alongside Sonic, and the recently announced Danica Patrick and Joe Musashi, comes Wreck-It Ralph ready to transform his video game based movie presence into a real video game appearance. Wreck-It Ralph is the starring antagonist of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ next full length animated theatrical release of which bears the same name in both the movie and the fictional video game. Is Sega overdoing it a little with all the cross advertising of video game characters?

The official Need For Speed site shows no listing or pre-order option for any Vita version, but three of the largest online gaming retailers in the world beg to differ. Advertised as having exclusive Vita functionality and gameplay, Need For Speed: Most Wanted will get a PS Vita version on or around 30 October, 2012. How much would you pay for a portable version of Burnout Paradise 2?
This seems to be the year of the Canadian indie developer for PlayStation 3, as DrinkBox Studios showcases their newest SCEA “Pub Fund” baby with Guacamelee! DrinkBox describes the game as a co-op multiplayer “Metroid-vania style action-platformer set in a magical Mexican inspired world.”
The E3 2012 Sony press conference was definitely the highlight of the day for us. There was a considerable about of clarity and new reveals to satisfy the palette for a little while. We can’t help it knowing that there is more to be revealed for PS3 and Vita from both Sony and the amazing developers at E3 in the days to come.
