Sony’s Gamescom press conference began with Shuhei Yoshida, President of SCE Worldwide Studios, walking out onto the stage, sitting down in an armchair, and playing on his PlayStation 4. It was a neat way to show off the PS4’s user interface, which as you’d imagine is slick, fast and oh so pretty.
Free-to-play games are all the rage these days, and now one of Sony’s most popular franchises is getting in on the action. That’s right; LittleBigPlanet Hub is coming to PS3 as a free-to-play title later this year.

In a surprise announcement during Sony’s Gamescom conference, it was been revealed that Gearbox Software’s critically acclaimed role-playing shooter, Borderlands 2, will be coming to PS Vita.
Mike Bithell, creator of the excellent Thomas Was Alone, has just announced his latest project. Volume is a top-down stealth game with an emphasis on user-created content, and it looks – in a word – awesome.
PlanetSide 2, Sony Online Entertainment’s long-awaited sequel to the popular MMOFPS, was originally released as a free-to-play game on PC last year. It was extremely well received by both critics and fans, and Sony has consequently announced a PS4 release for the title.
Without a doubt, the most welcome news to come out of Sony’s conference was that the PS4 will support used games, and won’t require an internet connection. But almost as good as that was the fact that PlayStation Plus subscriptions will incorporate PS4 games and features at no additional cost.

Telltale Games’ critically acclaimed The Walking Dead will be receiving a new DLC chapter entitled 400 Days that will introduce five brand new characters to the episodic franchise.

Let’s be honest; the reveal of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in March was undermined just a bit by the fact that everyone had already made the connection between The Phantom Pain and MGS back in December. Guacamelee! is the latest title from DrinkBox Studios, the Toronto-based developer behind the awesome Tales From Space series on PS3 and PS Vita. Available for both consoles, the team’s latest project is a Metroidvania-style 2D platformer that stars a Mexican farmer named Juan Aguacate, who finds himself in a bit of a pickle when he is killed five minutes into the game.
Fresh off the smashing success that Far Cry 3 enjoyed at the tail end of 2012, Ubisoft aims grow the series’ ever-swelling wave of admiration with a DLC expansion that speaks to a nostalgia for all things gloriously 80’s. Leading up to the expansion’s May 1 target release, Ubisoft sought the help of Corridor Digital to bring some of the main themes to life.
