Planet_51Have you heard about the film Planet 51? It’s a new animated film from the writer of Shrek and Shrek 2. Like almost (every?) new animated film it’s getting a videogame that launches with the movie. But what will Planet 51 The Game will be all about?
Here’s the premise, American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker (that’s you) lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the only person on the entire planet, but the reality is quite the opposite.
It might be a little shaky but at least we get an actual look at the gameplay behind PixelJunk’s next – and still stupidly named – entry: Shooter.
Some new aspects that become apparent from watching this footage captured from Comic-Con included how your little “shooter” thing can overheat and cool down by flying into water. We also get to see some fluid dynamics when shooting from under water which is a nice touch but, and this is the best thing yet, you can dock your ship and take on a LAVA CANNON.
Guerrilla Studios have announced a brand new bundle releasing today called with the original name of the ‘Map Pack Bundle’ . This bundle combines all three Killzone 2 map packs together for an undisclosed discounted price.
One of the map packs included also releases today and that’s the Napalm & Cordite expansion.
Batman: Arkham Asylum may well have been delayed a while, but that doesn’t mean that can’t ogle the latest trailer.
Not only that but we have also managed to snaffle some great shots of these guys looking all dark and mean.
The bad news?
French publisher Nobilis have released a brand new trailer for what is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated PSN games ever.
An action and puzzle solving game, Trine marries a combination of classic 2D gameplay with modern 3D graphics.
There are a total of three characters that you can take control of and the physics in the game allow players to choose many different ways at solving the puzzles set out. They even say you may find some that the developers never originally planned!
Today we travel back to Hell again with Dante in this new trailer from the folks at EA. Watch as he uses Death’s Scythe and his cross to destroy the creatures of the damned. He looks a lot like Kratos to us with the way he swings from place to place and slices the surrounding enemies. Thankfully, that isn’t a bad thing.
As you’ve no doubt seen recently, we’re suckers for highlighting the various “developer diaries” that are appearing of late.
Offering up an insider view on some of the hottest new properties in gaming, there’s nothing like seeing passionate people talk about something they truly love.
And when that something is also a game we can’t wait to get our hands on – it’s a big win for everyone involved.
With Zipper Interactive revealing more MAG mayhem on a weekly basis, it’s now Ubisoft’s turn to offer us some glimpses inside the production of Assassin’s Creed II.
The guys over at Obsidian have put out a new dev diary outlining how realism and the concept of cause-and-effect feature heavily in their new tactical RPG, Alpha Protocol.
Published by Sega and due out this fall, the game looks to be shaping up very nicely with this new footage describing the level of character customisation and freedom available to players.
What’s also interesting is to what extent the designers have gone to make the game feel “real”. Lead Artist at Obsidian, Aaron Meyers, talks about the setting of the espionage filled adventure and how his objective was to “nail reality as hard as possible.”
EA’s DICE are the well-loved creators of the (recently confirmed) Mirror’s Edge franchise. It is no secret that there are those of us in the team who simply love this title.
As a result, we have studied the team’s next title, Battlefield 1943, with a distinct sense of growing excitement.
Imagine, therefore, our delight when we discovered earlier today that the release date of the game is far sooner than we thought?
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, the #1 arcade sensation in Japan, is finally upon North American fighting fans. Developed by Arc System Works, creators of the outstanding Guilty Gear franchise, BlazBlue arrived today for the PlayStation 3.

As of this writing, online retailers GameStop and Amazon are still offering the Limited Edition of BlazBlue at the standard edition price of $59.99.
We hope you had enough of FIFA 09, because FIFA 10 is just around the corner. EA is churning out this year’s update to the football (not to be confused with gridiron football) franchise like only they can.
FIFA 10 aims to “deliver a new standard for authenticity with gameplay refinements and innovations that will make it the most complete and intelligent simulation of football”. We may have heard the same about FIFA 09 last year; apparently standards for authenticity and innovation get yearly updates as well.
The following took place during a recent Capcom photo shoot to promote the upcoming PSN videogame Marvel vs. Capcom 2. PS3 Attitude was there as a guest director.
The events that unfolded were captured by the surviving camera crew in video and pictures. This is the first of a series of unfortunate set of events during said photo shoot.
After an eight month delay and millions of Potter-heads damning Voldemort for it, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince released today in North America. The United Kingdom fans have to wait a little more than that, 3rd July for you original Potter-heads. Never fret, PS3 Attitude is here to offer you the launch trailer wherever you may be in this (increasingly less) green earth.
This July sees the arrival of one of a select few First Person Shooters to the PSN.
Coming out shooting, The Punisher: No Mercy will see players taking up the role of ol’ Skull Chest himself as well as a host of well-known allies and villains from Marvel’s Punisher universe.
By now, if you don’t know about Brutal Legend, we would like to be the first to welcome you out from under your rock.
Long story short, Jack Black is a roadie who gets shunted into another world.
To set the scene and give us all a taste of the sort of humour to expect, Jack has provided us with the 3rd in his series of, erm, unique videos.
Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen (Transformers 2 to the rest of us) has hit the cinemas everywhere now, and the reviews are (mostly) praising the gargantuan mechanical monsters.
As with all the biggest film releases, T:ROTF (no, not ‘twits: roll on the floor laughing’) has been made into a game.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is the next in the series from 1C, developers of the previously PC-only series of aerial combat simulators.
With some serious gaming pedigree behind the game’s latest iteration, there are high hopes among the team for the title.
Happily, we have a trailer for your perusal so you can see if this gets your altimeters working overtime too.
June 18 marks a special day for our little black and white dimension defying friend as echochrome will be receiving an update to version 1.02. The last time the game was updated, we received trophy support. This time, we will see the ability to share our creations with the world…
Fuzzyeyes are working day and night [you'll get the reference soon] to bring us the incredible steampunk adventure, Edge of Twilight. We have managed to get hold of the new trailer for your delectation, in which hero Lex gets choppy with the bad guys.
