Batman: Arkham Asylum Developer Diary

Batman is coming.

If you’ve broken the law, be afraid of the shadows.

Look out for guano because when you get caught it will probably hit the fan. The Dark Knight could well send you to Arkham Asylum. It seems to be the place to be for any up-and-coming bad guy lately.

Until everyone breaks out, that is…

Twitter Weekly Digest for 2009-07-19

Twitter has been rummaging in our fridge here at Attitude Towers for some time now, and it seems that we’ve come to just accept it as par for the course.

With Twitter friends like ours though, we can’t be blamed for that!

This week, we managed to come 6th in GamesAid’s Charity Poker event. Final table FTW!

PSFree Attitude took a quieter turn this week thanks to Develop09 in Brighton, where we got a load of info about a host of new games and features, including APB and the Motion Controller for the PS3.

Playnit; A symphony of gamer hits

Music has become an integral part of video games; sometimes becoming more popular than the game itself. Every gamer probably knows the tune to Super Mario Bros. or recognizes the heavy metal found in the Devil May Cry series. There are even entire concerts dedicated to the music of these games.

Now, gamers can listen to their favorite video game music via a new social website, Playnit. If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen its advertisements up on N4G but have yet to click the link. Perhaps you should give it a try, what could it hurt?

PSN and Cloud; a viable alternative to illegal downloads

The PlayStation Network looks set to expand across non-gaming devices in the near future, and it seems that Sony are looking for the PSN to play a part in helping provide a viable alternative to illegal downloads.

In a recent article by Fortune, extensively detailing the current executive strategies Sony are undertaking, you can clearly understand the importance of the PlayStation Network to the Japanese consumer electronics giant.

Let’s take a closer look at some of their recent statements.

Can Final Fantasy VII top the PSN’s greatest hits?

With the recent news that Final Fantasy VII has reached 100,000 downloads from the US PlayStation Store within a fortnight, there was only one question that sprung to our collective mind.

Could a PSOne title from 1997 actually beat the likes of current-gen darlings such as Warhawk, GT5 Prologue and Ratchet & Clank?

There’s only one way to find out…

Cross Edge – The PS3 Attitude Review

The PlayStation 3 has been lacking in the traditional JRPG department since its infant days as a console. With the release of Cross Edge, we were hoping for a break though game featuring five top developers; Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco Bandai, Gust, and Idea Factory, after all, there is a certain excitement about controlling your own personal Prinny, Morrigan Aensland, Meu, and Aurica Nestmile army.

In reality, the game is like a complicated calculus equation. The road to the solution can be long and arduous, but upon arrival, there is a certain satisfaction. That, and the fact that there were probably hundreds of times we wanted to hurl our controller at the television screen and call it quits…

E3 09; Gaming Gear; the other side of E3

E3 is not just about the video games and booth babes. There’s much more to it than that, after all, you can’t hear that sneaky Helghast sneak up without a decent surround sound system or execute a perfect head shot in Call of Duty 4 with simply a Dualshock 3? Sure, it can get the job done but you want to be the best out there, don’t you?

We had the chance to try out Tritton Technologies latest surround sound headset, the AX Pro, which brings the ultimate listening experience straight to your ears. In addition, we also tested SplitFish’s FragFX controller designed specifically for the PS3.

E3 09; Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Preview – Ayane Edition

Ninja Gaiden Sigma was one of the first must-have games on the PS3. The graphics were beautiful and the gameplay was spectacular. The game had its fair share of problems too, most notably, the camera angles. It’s good to hear, then, that Team Ninja has addressed this issue for the upcoming Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. The game takes everything that made the original Sigma good, and makes it better.

Many thanks to all our new (and existing) followers who dutifully re-tweeted and put their names into the virtual hat for an Uncharted 2 multi-player beta code.

The following people have now all received codes and should be well on their way towards plundering and co-operating with the best of them.

Congratulations to: attattattack, CrashDude55, Eweor, HempEffect, jonathan_bright, MaKUltra, meiklzh, Moose772 and YoBrenoops.

E3 09; Fairytale Fights preview

If you remember correctly, we told you little about our most anticipated game.Well, we now reveal to you the world of you favorite fairytale. In Fairytale Fights, you’ll encounter everyone from the bedtime stories we read as a kid. You play as Little Red Riding Hood, who has fallen out of the spotlight and will do anything to get back to the top, even if that means hacking all of the other creatures to pieces. Do we have your attention now? Good.
