We suspect most people will be buying Assassin’s Creed 2 when it hits this Fall, judging by the popularity of the game steadily increasing over the past few months.
From AC: Bloodlines on the PSP having some crossovers with the PS3 game to Ubisoft plugging the game in “all platforms and mediums that could support [their] franchises”, it would apppear that the world is slowly going Assassin’s Creed bonkers.
Now it has been revealed that special editions of the game will be available for pre-order.
Ubisoft have announced today plans to expand their properties beyond the videogame market to include film and “all platforms and mediums that could support our franchises.”
As part of this new direction, the publisher will produce a series of short films based on the popular Assassin’s Creed property.

It is not often that we receive something in the post that leaves us mildly baffled, but this morning was one of those times.
A postcard arrived with a picture of Venice on the front. The rear of the postcard contains none of the usual ‘wish you were here’ drivel that most postcards around the world carry; in fact it carries no text at all. The postmark is clearly from Central Milan, not Venice.
Then we started to notice something recognisable within the picture that gave the game away…
Stepping out from the shadows, Assassin’s Creed II details have surfaced in the latest edition of GameInformer and, thanks to the guys over at C&VG, we can reproduce them for you here.
After months of speculation, endless hours of heated debate and innumerable arguments both for and against the concept of Assassin’s Creed leaving the setting of the Holy Land (not to mention the odd fiery flag discussion), the teaser of the sequel arrives and … we get nothing.
That’s not entirely true of course, as what we do get is a (mostly empty) new site along with some intriguing footage that lends some credence of Altair (or maybe the Son of Altair) moving out of the dust bowl of Jerusalem next time around.
