Though made up entirely of rendered footage, we’re not going to beat up EA Dice’s new Battlefield: Bad Company 2 trailer too much considering just how enjoyable it is.

Focusing on the game’s squad-based elements, witness what four men can accomplish when they put their minds together. As you might expect, these four particular guys have a mind for lots of death and destruction.

When The Dark Knight was released in theaters, it shattered most records including biggest opening day, weekend, and July release. What does this have to do with Battlefield 1943 you ask? Well, the downloadable title is well on its way to claiming the same records.

Battlefield 1943 fans promising to unlock the Coral Sea map and Air Superiority mode as soon as the 43 millionth soldier had fallen in the game, we’re happy to report that DICE have indeed delivered the goods.

Shunning sleep and obviously taking a break from server monitoring, DICE’s Gordon Van Dyke has popped up on the official EA forums stating that the demand for Battlefield 1943 has exceeded everyone at EA and DICE’s expectations.

Don’t worry, however, as the network guys are now scrambling to add more servers to cater for the thousands of people currently trying to get online.

EA’s DICE are the well-loved creators of the (recently confirmed) Mirror’s Edge franchise. It is no secret that there are those of us in the team who simply love this title.

As a result, we have studied the team’s next title, Battlefield 1943, with a distinct sense of growing excitement.

Imagine, therefore, our delight when we discovered earlier today that the release date of the game is far sooner than we thought?

Not to be outdone by Namco Bandai, EA have come out swinging in terms of media for the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

The sequel to 2008′s well-recieved Bad Company is going to feature some rather more frosty locales, from the look of these screens. What’s more, there is even a video to accompany the images.

While you were running around the first game like Kelly’s Heroes blowing up destructible environments as if there was no tomorrow, the guys at DICE were actually taking it easy on you; coddling console gamers as, unlike our distant PC cousins, we’re just not “hardcore” enough to handle the full FPS experience.

Don’t expect such easy treatment in the sequel.
