Goozex, the number one video trading site, has released a list of its most requested games of 2010, and in a surprise twist, three of the top ten are PlayStation 3 exclusives.
Selecting a game of the year is rarely easy, and it has been no different this year.
Play.com are running a fantastic deal offering customers who pre-order Vanquish with a free copy of PlatinumGame’s other title, Bayonetta.
The game costs £39.99 to pre-order (£10 less than the RRP) so it already pays to get in early, but to get a free copy of Bayonetta is a steal.
Believe it or not, the PlayStation 3 was released nearly four years ago, and since then the console has been graced with hundreds of great titles. Therefore, we at PS3 Attitude thought we’d take some time to pay tribute to the people who create the games that make our mundane lives just that little bit more entertaining: the developers.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be revealing our one hundred favourite developers, and believe us when we say that there are some incredibly talented teams included. We’ve now revealed fifty developers in our mammoth list, and today we’re revealing another ten.
“Japan is at least five years behind [Western developers]” and “everyone’s making awful games.” That’s the bleak view Keiji Inafune has of the Japanese games industry right now. Capcom’s head of global research and development even includes his own company in his criticism, “Capcom is barely keeping up.”
Bayonetta, the last project for Platinum Games, was an excellent game, one which we would encourage all PS3 owners to play. It was fast, slick and wonderfully inventive. That being said, us PS3 owners had reasons to be dissatisfied because we ended up with a lesser product compared to the Xbox 360 version.
Thankfully, Platinum Games won’t be making the same mistake with their next game Vanquish, the PS3 is the lead platform this time round and Shinji Mikami (the game’s developer) has assured fans that this approach has been “a success”.
Welcome to the fourth edition of PS3 Attitude’s ‘Deals of the Week’ feature. Every Friday we deliver our favourite deals on PlayStation 3 games that we have discovered across the Internet.
Fortunately our UK base has been unaffected by the Volcanic ash, so we are once again able to bring you deals for both the United Kingdom and the United States.
We are pleased to be able to bring you more great games at great prices this week, each one with our expert opinion why you should not waste any time in clicking the ‘Buy Now’ link underneath.
Shinji Mikami, the legendary games developer, the man behind Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and the hotly anticipated Vanquish, has admitted that he was given “too much freedom” during the production of God Hand.
Christer Ericson has confirmed, via Twitter, that God of War III won’t require a mandatory install.
Ericson is Director of Technology at Sony Santa Monica, the team behind the brutally gory, but exhilarating action-adventure title.
This will come as good news to those short on space on their hard drive, and for anyone who finds waiting for an installation excruciating.
It seems to be the case that the more powerful consoles are becoming, the rarer it is that we can just pick up and play a game. Instead, our time is being spent downloading and installing patches to rectify bugs which should have been resolved prior to release.
It begs the question: has the ability to release downloadable updates led to developers becoming more complacent than in previous generations regarding the bugs in their games?
The Bayonetta update to help fix the long load times is now available to download in Europe.
If the old adage that sex sells is true, then Platinum Games’ Bayonetta must be having a fire sale.
The latest from the man who gave us Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami, Hideki Kamiya has labelled his witch starring action romp Bayonetta as the game he always wanted to make.
If such is the case, it’s safe to assume Kamiya-san has a penchant for three things in life: highly-sexed women, the supernatural instilled with a heavy dash of religious overtone, and action. Action that can literally cause eyeballs to extend out from their sockets in disbelief.
Annoyed by the long load times in Bayonetta? SEGA is hoping to alleviate this issue by releasing a patch.
The third in a series on Bayonetta Developer Diaries has been published and we have it for you to see.
In the video the director Hideki Kamiya, who is also behind the Devil May Cry series, discusses the ability for Bayonetta to transform into other animals.
Bayonetta has already received a perfect score from multiple sources including Famitsu and EDGE Magazine.
Xbox 360 users were given special limited access to the demo and now the entire community of gamers will be able get their hands on what one can assume will be one of the best games of the new year.
The Bayonetta demo is now out in Japan and we have a gameplay video that shows the first climax.
Is Bayonetta worth your time?
Google Chrome was recently updated with a new stable release that saw the addition of ‘themes’, the ability to customise the look and feel of Chrome to suit your tastes.
Initially, there weren’t many themes available but yesterday Google released 130+ new customisations that include designs from Oscar de la Renta, Anita Kunz, Tom Sachs, Kate Spade, Donna Karan and Kid Robot.
But what really caught our eye was the inclusion of Bayonetta and Ratchet & Clank Future 2 themes in the latest batch of updates.
When a recent report appeared online indicating that the PS3 version of Bayonetta suffered from a laggy frame-rate and other graphical anomalies, we have to admit that we got a little worried.
Up until recently, all …
Along with our preview of Alpha Protocol, SEGA gave us a preview of Bayonetta. Not only that, but producer Yusuke Hashimoto himself held the controller to give us the very best experience.
The very first thing you notice is just how damn good this game looks. The graphics are outstanding, and every animation is smooth as silk. Which is handy, given the amount of the stuff our sexy witch wears (and rubber, leather etc.).
But as he played through the game, Hashimoto-san had a surprisingly powerful new weapon to reveal to us.
