European PS Store Update for 13 October – A day late

European PS Store Update for 13 October – A day late

To clarify, by a day late we mean us and not the actual update. Oh my, think of the craziness that would be taking place on the official EU blog if the update really were a day late. We shudder just thinking about it

Anyway, the update is here and with it is lots of cool stuff. If you’re lucky enough to be a PlayStation Plus member, you have the full game trial of Hustle Kings to look forward to, as well as three different Fallout 3 expansions. Also available is the Killzone 3 beta theme, and although the beta is already locked up as far as participants go, the theme is still in the Store if you’re interested.

Following in North America’s footsteps, you can also find Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 for download, as well as Dead Space Ignition. Speaking of Sonic 4, you have the official PS3 Attitude review to look forward to in the near the future.

Beyond that, there are several new demos and a lot of game add-ons, videos, themes and avatars available. So check out the complete list and let us know what can be found in your download queue this week.

European PS Store Update for 6 October – The Ferrari Experience

European PS Store Update for 6 October – The Ferrari Experience

It’s time once again for the European PlayStation Store Update. This update is a tad disappointing when compared to previous iterations but the way we look at, you wouldn’t know what a good update was unless you had a bad one now and then, right?

Calling this a bad update is really the wrong choice of words, anyway. You’ve got Ferrari: The Race Challenge to look forward to, as well as a full one hour trial if you’re a Plus subscriber. Also new for Plus subscribers is Street Fighter HD Remix and the PSone classic, Kula World. If neither of those are blowing your skirt up, you’ve also got two Mini’s to choose from – Aero Racer and Yeti Sports.

Beyond that, there’s not a lot to be had. There is a demo for DJ Hero 2 and several intriguing game add-ons, so hopefully everyone will find something that wins them over. Click the link for the full list and be sure to let us know what you’re getting!

European PS Store Update for 22nd September – Sonic, Thongs and Kittens

European PS Store Update for 22nd September – Sonic, Thongs and Kittens

It’s that time again – time for the PlayStation Store update! While the update this week might not be quite the size of last week’s, there’s still some great content to be had.

Getting right to the downloadable games, there’s a new Death Spank game to download as well as Sonic Adventures, the port of the highly successful Dreamcast title. If neither of those strike your fancy, you can look in to Sky Fighter and Blade Kitten. Blade Kitten even has a trial game so you can get a taste before dropping your hard earned dough.

If you’re more of a ‘try before you buy’ kind of gamer, there are demos for NBA Elite 11 and Summer Challenge – Athletics Tournament. If Minis are your thing then you’ll be happy to know there’s also one of those – Arcade Sports: Bowling & Air Hockey. Last but certainly not least is the Red Dead Redemption add on pack labeled Liars and Cheats.

European PS Store Update for 15th September – Enslaved demo and so much more!

European PS Store Update for 15th September – Enslaved demo and so much more!

Whoa! This is a lot of content for just one week.

There really is just too much to list. There’s demos for Enslaved, which is developed by Ninja Theory, the minds behind Heavenly Sword and the new Devil May Cry, NBA2k11, PES 2011, FIFA 11, and Space Invaders Infinity Gene.

There’s even a bunch of PlayStation Move demos for the following games: Heavy Rain, echochrome II, Tumble, The Shoot, Sports Champions, and so much more! There’s no doubt that you’ll have something to try out with those fancy new PlayStation Move controllers releasing later this week.

There’s even a bunch of games just waiting to be purchased. If Flight Control HD, My Aquarium, and Space Invaders aren’t enough for you, there is a bundle pack for the Monkey Island games and tons of deals for older titles like Mega Man 10 and Peggle.

Sony Europe went all out with this update and it shows. What will you be downloading?

European PS Store Update for 8th September – Worms, Planes, and flying Hamsters

European PS Store Update for 8th September – Worms, Planes, and flying Hamsters

This is a pretty solid update but there’s still no sign of Castle Crashers. Don’t expect it to release next week either. It’s coming soon though…

Worm 2: Armageddon is finally on the PlayStation Network. There’s no excuse to not try this game out as there’s a trial version just begging to be played. If Worms aren’t your thing then you might be interested in Top Gun.

A demo for Tecmo’s upcoming shooter Quantum Theory is now available in Europe. From what we’ve played, it’s pretty horrible. Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section. We’d love to read your impressions.

There’s also DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, Transformers: War for Cybertron, Mafia II, and Planet Minigolf. Oh, and Snoop Dogg is in Rock Band now. Enjoy!

European PS Store Update for 1st September – Great update even without Castle Crashers

European PS Store Update for 1st September – Great update even without Castle Crashers

Castle Crashers didn’t make it to Europe today. In fact, Sony isn’t even sure when the game will be releasing. Profound Sadness.

More surprisingly, Alien Breed Impact had a stealth release in Europe. This overhead shooter looks pretty interesting, so hopefully it’s fun. There is a trial version available so there’s no reason not to play it at least once.

Europeans received two actual PSone Classics this week in the form of Tomb Raider and Front Mission 3. Tomb Raider might be a bit outdated but Front Mission is still highly playable.

Demos for RUSE and Vanquish are ready for download. Be sure to let us know what you thought of both games. If you’re looking for a fast paced shooter with crazy flips and explosions, you’ll probably enjoy Vanquish a lot.

Aside from that, the usual suspects all have downloadable content. Resident Evil 5’s episodic DLC pack is on sale. Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape offer to very different experiences and are very much so worth the purchase. And of course, if you have a PSP, support Valkyria Chronicles II. ^_^

European PS Store Update for 25th August – Who doesn’t want to Shank Naruto?

European PS Store Update for 25th August – Who doesn’t want to Shank Naruto?

This is a pretty solid week for the PSN.

Make sure you download the oversized Shank demo. It’s a really fun game that gives you the ability to lunge at enemies and stab them with a chainsaw. Yes, it’s as awesome as it sounds.

The Joe Danger demo is finally available in Europe after being delayed for a week. Be sure to let us know what you thought of the game. There’s also a demo for Naruto UNS2, but it’s a bit underwhelming once you get past the awesome eye candy.

Don’t forget about PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap. This is an updated version of the original Racers that adds trophy support and makes the game quite a bit easier. Motorstorm 3D Rift will give gamers a taste of 3D gaming. The demo/game hybrid uses ten tracks from Pacific Rift and is available at a somewhat cheap price.

Street Fighter fans will be pleased to know that the Super Street Fighter IV avatars are finally making their way to Europe. The first batch includes characters such as Chun-Li, M.Bison, and Guile.

European PS Store Update for 18th August – So many Gamescom trailers!

European PS Store Update for 18th August – So many Gamescom trailers!

This week is pretty good. It’s almost identical to the North American update aside from the absence of the Joe Danger demo. Don’t be sad though. You only have to wait until next week to try the game out for yourself.

This week we’re treated with two demos: NHL 11 and HAWX 2. There’s only one new game and it’s a mini called Fish Tank. It’s probably as interesting as it sounds.

All the usual DLC is available, including the new Uncharted 2 multiplayer skins, the Marvel LBP costumes, and Skate 3’s create expansion. There’s also a bunch of trailers for tons of games shown at Gamescom. This includes Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and so much more.

Don’t forget to check out the new Uncharted 2 Dynamic Theme. It’s pretty neat.

European PS Store Update for 21st July – Hope you like punching people in the face…

European PS Store Update for 21st July – Hope you like punching people in the face…

The content for this week is pretty minimal. The latest episode of Sam & Max is the lone downloadable title aside from PSP minis (such as Young Thor). The demo for Kane and Lynch 2 is now available in Europe, which is funny because it’s a PlayStation Plus exclusive in North America.

Aside from the above, everything else is deals and DLC. The deals are pretty good, especially if you enjoy fighting games and beat ’em ups. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Final Fight: Double Impact, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online, and Mortal Kombat 2 are all on sale. Take advantage while you can! Even the Super Street Fighter IV alternate costumes received a price cut. Since Revenge of the Wounded Dragons is on sale, you might want to pick that up for some additional beat ’em up action.

European PS Store Update for 14th July – Feel the wrath of the mighty Demon Poop Hammer

European PS Store Update for 14th July – Feel the wrath of the mighty Demon Poop Hammer

There really isn’t much this week. The only downloadable game is DeathSpank and that doesn’t even have a demo for some reason. Similarly to the North American update, there is a multiplayer demo for Blur. The rest of the games are minis, a brand games that just recently sold 1 million copies. Congrats to all you small developers out there!

There is a surprising lack of DLC this week aside from the usual suspects. The highlight is the new level for Trine, which won’t cost you much at all. It should be noted that this was added to the PC version through a free update. A bit of a shame the same couldn’t be done on the PSN. Luckily for us, Trine is a great game and deserves your support.

Enjoy!

European PS Store Update for 7th July – LeChuck’s Groovin’ Revenge

Yar maties! This be a grand update, ye hear? Plenty a booty for all ye downloadin’ needs. Aye, that’s right. Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge be on ye network now, ye see?

There also be DLC for Modern Warfare 2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Just Cause 2, and LittleBigPlanet. Can’t be forgettin’ ’bout me ol’ buddy Sweet Tooth in ModNation Racers either.

Yaaaar!

European PS Store Update for 30th June – Hope you like Tiger Woods…

This update is pretty lame. Aside from demos for LEGO Harry Potter, Aqua Panic HD, and Death Track Resurrection, there’s almost nothing else but special offers and DLC.

Speaking of DLC, did you see the GINORMOUS list for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11? Wow! If you’re actually going to buy something this week make sure it’s the Fat Princess: Fat Roles DLC. Might as well get something good, right?

If you purchased a PSN+ subscription you’ll have a lot more deals to take advantage of and more content to download (although it won’t really be anything new).

What do you think about the subscription service so far? Do you like what it has to offer? Let us know.

European PS Store Update for 23rd June – Happy Birthday, Sonic!

European PS Store Update for 23rd June – Happy Birthday, Sonic!

This week has a lot of content but it’s mostly DLC. Outlaws to the End for Red Dead Redemption is the clear highlight here. The best part? It’s free! There’s also the Interdiction pack for MAG, Onslaught Mode for Bad Company 2, and the free Helghast costumes for Lost Planet 2

There’s a few downloadable titles. Secret of Monkey Island, Fret Nice, Sam & Max Episode 3, and more! There should be enough content here to keep you busy for quite some time, especially if you’re playing Monkey Island. If you somehow missed out on PixelJunk Monsters, be sure to purchase this brilliant game while it’s on sale. You won’t regret it.

European PS Store Update for 9th June – Woo! Joe Danger!

European PS Store Update for 9th June – Woo! Joe Danger!

There isn’t too much content today. It’s the quality that matters though and that’s exactly what you’ll get.

Aside from there being a bunch of PSP games on sale, PS3 owners can now enjoy Joe Danger. This game has been getting a lot of publicity as of late and it’s for a good reason. It’s awesome.

The lone demo for this week is for Backbreaker. This should be an interesting game to try out. Let us know what you thought of it.

Everything else is pretty much DLC. There’s the Heavy Rain costumes for LittleBigPlanet, Alternate costumes for Super Street Fighter IV, and much more. Nothing too exciting.

Remember, there is going to be a maintenance later today. Be sure to visit the store before 16:30 BST or else you won’t be able to.

European PS Store Update for 2nd June – Abe’s Exoddus

This is a pretty good week. Aside from Toy Story 2 being added as a PSone Classic, a really awesome game is now available in Europe. Please welcome… *drum roll* Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus! Yay!
There’s a …

European PS Store Update for 26th May – Melodies of Life

[Alone for a while, I’ve been searching through the dark
For traces of the love you left inside my lonely heart
To weave by picking up the pieces that remain
Melodies of life, love’s lost refrain]

O_O. Can you believe it? Final Fantasy IX is now available in Europe! That was unexpected. The game wasn’t even announced for a European release yet! We definitely aren’t complaining though. Enjoy this beautiful RPG. If it’s your first time playing IX, you’re in for a treat.

Aside from a very awesome PSone Classic, there’s also Fret Nice, Voodoo Dice, Soldner X-2, and Sam & Max Episode 2. Yup, four downloadable games. If that’s not enough for you, there’s demos for Fret Nice, Voodoo Dice, SBK X, and PixelJunk Shooter.

Such a great week… and there’s more! As always, you’ll find a healthy amount of DLC for various games, including Just Cause 2, Lost Planet 2, and Super Street Fighter IV.

Enjoy!

[And so it goes on and on
Melodies of life to the sky beyond the flying birds
Forever and on]

European PS Store Update for 19th May – The one with the ModNation Racers demo

European PS Store Update for 19th May – The one with the ModNation Racers demo

This week’s update should keep you busy for awhile. Critter Crunch and Mushroom Wars are on sale until the 26th. If you haven’t bought those games yet, you might want to get on that.

The ModNation Racers and Tiger Woods 2011 demos are now available. No Iron Man II demo for Europe it seems. Don’t worry, you’re not missing much.

There’s DLC for Dragon Age, Split/Second, ModNation Racers, Rock Band, and Guitar Hero.

Take some screenshots of your ModNation track and share them with us. We’d love to see your creations.

European PS Store Update for 12th May – Deals, DLC, and an Opossum dressed as a Knight

European PS Store Update for 12th May – Deals, DLC, and an Opossum dressed as a Knight

This update is definitely better than the one in the US. It’s still underwhelming though. There’s a bunch of games on sale for games like Critter Crunch and Thexder Neo. If you haven’t picked those up yet, you might want to do that now.

This week features two downloadable games: Catan and Rocket Knight. There is a demo for Rocket Knight so there really is no reason to at least try it out (it’s also the only demo). Hopefully the game lives up to its potential.

Everything else is pretty much downloadable content. There’s DLC for Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, Super Street Fighter IV, LBP, and more. And of course, the latest episode of FirstPlay is now available as well.

Enjoy.

European PS Store Update for 5th May – Wednesday updates are weird…

European PS Store Update for 5th May – Wednesday updates are weird…

The content for this week is pretty meh. It is better than the US update though. Why? Because there is a demo for Split/Second. It certainly looks nice, but how does it play? We’ll know soon enough. The UFC Undisputed 2010 demo can now be downloaded by everyone. No need to register to the UFC Community website anymore.

There are three new games this week: Anarchy: Rush Hour, Kick-Ass, and Feeding Frenzy 2 (there was a part 1?). For add-ons, the Stimulus Package for MW2 is finally out and there’s a space zombie expansion for Burn Zombie Burn. That should be interesting.

If you have a PSP make sure you take advantage of the price drops on Petz: My Puppy Family and Petz: My Baby Hamster. Two quality products right there…

Don’t forget that Episode 5 of FirstPlay is now available. Let us know what you think of it. If you liked the music from Flower, you’ll be happy to know that you can now purchase the soundtrack. Oh, and there are some new EyePet avatars to purchase. Yup…
