Staff credits shouldn’t just be a list of names; they should be a reward for completing the game. Unfortunately most titles choose to take the former route, forcing us to make a cup of tea until we can take control again. However, very occasionally, a game’s credits more than justify the time spent getting up to that point, and remind us why we started playing in the first place.
Fat Princess rolls in at #12 in our ’20 Days of PSN’. What is it about this particular title that launched it, probably via a catapult, ahead of other great PSN games such as Warhawk and Dead Nation?
Read on and find out why it is finally possible to have your cake and eat it. And eat more. Go on – have another slice…
The PlayStation Network has come a very long way in the last five years.
Believe it or not, there was a time when merely a handful of games were available on the PlayStation Store, and only a fraction of those were actually worth playing. However, nowadays, Sony’s online service is full to bursting with quality titles that have no doubt had your virtual wallet begging for mercy on more than one occasion.
Believe it or not, the PlayStation 3 was released nearly four years ago, and since then the console has been graced with hundreds of great titles. Therefore, we at PS3 Attitude thought we’d take some time to pay tribute to the people who create the games that make our mundane lives just that little bit more entertaining: the developers.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be revealing our one hundred favourite developers, and believe us when we say that there are some incredibly talented teams included. We’ve now revealed eighty developers in our mammoth list, and today we’re revealing ten more.
Are you the biggest Fat Princess fan? Prove it! Atomic Operations are currently holding a contest to find the biggest Fat Princess fan and plan to immortalize him or her in a future PSN update for the game as an in-game AI character!
All you have to do to earn your place in the game is create a video or photo of why you are the biggest fan and post it to the game’s Facebook page. Below are the official rules.
Earlier today, Fat Princess was patched to version 1.05, which adds a handful of technical fixes, as well as two free new snow-themed maps, entitled Frost Bite and Candy Mountain.
Massive Japanese publication Famitsu have listed their favourite games on the Japanese PlaySation Store.
At the top of the pile sits Valkyria Chronicles 2 then second is Phantasy Star Portable 2, both available on the PSP. Coming in at third place is Wizardry: The Labyrinth of Lost Souls, the highest rated PS3 title.
Famitsu also list their favourite PSOne classics with Final Fantasy VII unsurprisingly taking top spot.
Many of the selection are sadly not available in North American and even fewer make it as far as Europe. Are we missing out?
Fat Princess is kicking off the new year with something great and no, it isn’t some lame resolution that has already been dropped. Hitting PS3s everywhere tomorrow is Patch 1.04.
Not only does this fix a few issues but it brings us one new free city-themed map; Brownie Town.
Cake lovers rejoice as today marks the completion of Patch 1.03 for Fat Princess which is ready for imminent release. The biggest addition included in the patch is the brand new map, New Pork City, which will be available free to everyone.
Nothing beats free cake…nothing.
Showcased at PAX over in Seattle last week, friend-of-the-site (yes, we’re going to mention that every single time) Jeff Rubenstein from the PlayStation blog was privy to some new and exciting developments in the land of cake and, well, more cake.
Fat Princess is to get a new DLC map entitled New Pork that will not only allow players to unleash havoc on one another, but also feature new gameplay.
Who’d have thought after the appearance of ninjas and then pirates over at Titan Studio’s official blog last week, we’d still be reporting on new classes days later.
We suppose it makes sense.
After all, if pirates are the natural enemy of ninjas, we can’t have cheeky chefs running around unanswered. Strange though as it may seem, these culinary misfits will not be countered by abrupt waiters or an acerbic food critic class, but with another royal newcomer. Kings.
Fat Princess Ninjas we can understand. And then when we heard ninjas were coming, pirates were almost to be expected. But chefs?
We’re not sure what’s going on over at Titan Studio’s blog but it appears a day can’t go by without the developer revealing a new class for the cake-centric Fat Princess.
As any great scientist will tell you, it’s just not possible these days to add ninjas to anything without complimenting the balance with the addition of some swashbuckling pirates.
With the covert masters of stealth appearing over at Titan Studio’s blog earlier this week, we are not shocked in the slightest now by a similar Pirate invasion coming to Fat Princess.
We’ve been keeping an ever-watchful eye on Titan Studio’s blog of late. After all, with recent rumblings of patches and even some gameplay hints of late, who knows what else could turn up.
Look what we found this morning under the title of “Check it!”
Yep – it appears that Fat Princess is about to get a Ninja class to round off the mage, priest, warrior, worker, and ranger classes currently available.
Hats off to Titan Studios for when they say they’re on something, there’s really on it.
Completing the trifecta, we’re happy to report that the “Why Can’t I Connect?” Fat Princess patch (aka 1.02) has now finally spread to Asia.
With NA, Europe and now our friends in the east receiving this assuaging connectivity fix, we’re hopeful anyone who wants to play with a Chubby Cake-Muncher, now can.
True to their word, Titan Studios have updated their official blog announcing the availability of what they’re calling “the connection and lag patch” for EU territories.
Of course, we’re calling it the “it’s about time and we better be able to connect now” fix.
Though the update focuses on the connectivity woes, the Titans also took the opportunity to tweak numerous elements within the cake-filled game.
Europe may still be waiting for that connectivity salve that Titan Studios recently administered to their NA customers, but it hasn’t stopped the studio from cracking on with even more bug fixing and tweaking to …
They weren’t kidding when they said an update was imminent.
Reported over at the official US blog, Fat Princess maestro Chris Millar from Titan Studios has confirmed that a patch promising to remedy “the majority of …
By now you’re likely to have finally gotten your hands on all that delicious and forbidden cake.
You’ve therefore no doubt also realised that the game has not only brought numerous gastro-inspired delights to the table but a less palatable menu of glitches, bugs and — the bane of all online gamers — latency issues. That’s “crippling lag” to the rest of us.
Speaking on their official blog, Fat Pricess developer Titan Studios have confirmed that not only are these teething launch issues known, the studio are hard at work getting a patch live as soon as possible that corrects the more blatant of technical hiccups.
