With the game less than a month away, there is already speculation about downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII.

This is no surprise as the majority of big games these days receive additional content sometime in their lifetimes.

Final Fantasy XIII producer – Yoshinori Kitase – has commented on the fact he’s interested in the possibility of upgrading the game into stereoscopic 3D to take advantage of the upcoming PS3 firmware update.

Is this a viable use of the companies resources?

What goes perfectly together with NBA basketball? If you said Final Fantasy then you are correct because FFXIII is partnering with the 2010 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game to bring sports fans all the JRPG coverage they can handle.

Final Fantasy VIII has finally been dated for a European release.

Despite last week’s reassurances that the game would make a release in January, it will narrowly miss this month and will instead release on the 4th of February.

Heading full-steam ahead into our Top Three Most Wanted games of next year, it’s no surprise to see some of the huge AAA titles coming out to play. And they don’t get much bigger than Final Fantasy XIII.

With its darker, off-kilter variant already capturing eight spot in our list, you could say Final Fantasy – as a series – is due for a massive year in 2010. For us fans, it’s truly a treat: two FF games in the space of twelve months.

SquareEnix, you must absolutely love us.

While some may focus on mega-title Final Fantasy XIII, it’s its darker, more sinister twin that takes 8th spot on our Most Wanted Games of 2010 list.

It’s quite amazing that it made the shortlist at all really, especially considering practically nothing is known of SquareEnix’s surprise package, and it’s only recently that we’ve even seen some gameplay footage. It’s simply a testament to the game’s alluring appeal and apparent departure from the norm that it garnered so many votes from the staff here at PS3 Attitude.

We knew it would be be big, but this big?

Final Fantasy XIII, released on the 17th of December, has already chalked up a monstrous 1,516,532 copies sold in its first four days of release.

The figures are from Famitsu/Enterbrain who also paint a pretty picture for the PS3 in general as SquareEnix’s much-awaited AAA title has also helped shift 245,406 Playstation 3 systems in Japan last week.

Final Fantasy VIII is now available in North America and will be out in Europe very soon. sw00t!!

The application for the PC version of the Final Fantasy XIV beta is now available. PS3 owners are left out at this time, but it does look like there will be a beta sign up eventually.
