Introducing a new weekly feature, in which PS3 Attitude takes an irreverent* look at the world of gaming. Today we’re discussing five sequels that, if we had our way, would never have seen the light of day; although, in a way we’re glad they did, because otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to write this article.

With the end of the Harry Potter movies, we can finally say goodbye to the increasingly awful games. Or can we?
Harry Potter is a franchise that is worth over $15 billion. 7 books with a number of translations exceeded by only the bible, and 8 films that grossed nearly $7 billion alone and a game franchise that revolutionised the gaming industry from the ground up.
Well, maybe that last part isn’t so true.
We’ve already had announcements this week from Capcom, Atlus and Square Enix and now it is EA’s turn to announce their E3 line-up, promising ‘highly anticipated titles in all genres’.
The Harry Potter films are coming to an end with only one book remaining that has yet to hit the big screen. In order to prevent the film from lasting longer than six hours, and presumably milk the franchise for all it’s worth, Warner Bros. decided to release Deathly Hallows in two parts.
It should come as no surprise then, that the video game based on the film will be split up into two parts as well to coincide with the films release.
It’s common knowledge that movie tie-ins come under much more scrutiny and criticism than any other type of game. Most would argue (perhaps justifiably) that this is thoroughly deserved, and that they can never replace such blockbuster titles as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and God of War III. On this front I would have to agree, but why exactly is this the case?
After an eight month delay and millions of Potter-heads damning Voldemort for it, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince released today in North America. The United Kingdom fans have to wait a little more than that, 3rd July for you original Potter-heads. Never fret, PS3 Attitude is here to offer you the launch trailer wherever you may be in this (increasingly less) green earth.
