To celebrate the imminent releases of LittleBigPlanet Karting and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, SCEE is currently running a couple of massive sales on the PlayStation Store. With literally dozens of discounts on both racing games and some of the most popular franchises on PlayStation 3, it’s easy for the great deals to get lost amongst the not-so-great deals. Never fear though, as PS3 Attitude is on hand with our picks of the titles you’d be mad to miss out on.
It’s once again time for PS3 Attitude to take a flippant look at the world of gaming. This week’s trope is impossibly obese bosses, all of whom could definitely stand to lose a few pounds; or a few stones; or, in one case, a few million tons. We had a fair amount of fat – sorry, big-boned – characters to choose from, but these are the five that made it onto our virtual weighing scales.
From tiny outfits that provide no more protection than dental floss, to massive armour that even Chuck Norris would struggle walking in, it has to be said that costumes in videogames often look pretty ridiculous. We could have picked five games at random for this list and they’d still have been relevant, but these are the characters we chose in the end (after we picked them at random).
As much as I’d like one, unfortunately there’s no way I can justify, let alone afford, getting a PS Vita right now. Instead of looking upon owners of Sony’s latest handheld console with envy (well, to be fair I’ve been doing that too – obviously), I decided I would simply dust off my old PSP.
If you were a fan of platformer games on the PlayStation 2, then you’ll likely have played at least one of the Jak and Daxter games. The franchise is widely regarded as one of the best and most loved on Sony’s second home console, and now the original three games have been remastered in HD and released on a single Blu-Ray disc; but does the series still impress on PS3?
It’s been rumoured for a few months now, but this week Naughty Dog and Sony finally announced the Jak and Daxter Collection for PS3, an HD remake of the original trilogy on PS2.
In other news, Ubisoft has revealed that Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc will also be getting an HD release next year on the PlayStation Network.
Jak and Daxter was a popular franchise made by Naughty Dog. Spanning four PS2 games and a popular PSP spin-off, the series has been left alone for quite a while now.
So can we expect anything for the future of Jak and Daxter?
Before Uncharted, Naughty Dog were famous for games such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon and Jak & Daxter.
In fact Jak & Daxter was one of the biggest game franchises on the PS2, and many people including us would love to see it again on our TV screens.
