Sony has set a release date for the first batch of updates to convert existing games into stereoscopic 3D. On June 10, updates for Wipeout HD, Star Super Stardust HD and Mr. Pain will be available on the PSN.
The great news is that updates for Wipeout HD and Super Stardust HD will be absolutely free, the bad news is that you will have to pay ¥300 (£2.26/$3.28 if converted accurately) to play Mr. Pain in 3D.
Arriving late at a party can be a daunting experience; already, everyone will be overly familiar with each other, they’ll certainly be drunker, and the conversations will usually revolve around some crazy incident you’ve missed. There’s only one thing to do; throw yourself in the mix, drink quickly and hopefully figure out what the hell everyone is on about.
Thankfully, arriving late to the PS3 party isn’t quite so much of a struggle, thanks to the platinum (read: greatest hits) range. This selection of classics separates the wheat from the chaff, making it easier for you to know what is essential. What’s better, they’re dirt cheap, so you’ve got no excuse not go on a massive gaming binge.
A Killzone 3 video interview posted on the PlayStation Blog reveals interesting bits of information about the game.
News leaked over the weekend that Killzone 3 was in production and it came as no surprise. We now have official conformation from SCEE, calling it “David vs. Goliath…if Goliath had thousands of troops and a thermonuclear arsenal.”
Killzone 3 takes place exactly where 2 left off. Viscari is dead and Special Forces members Sev and Rico are all that remain of the ISA on Helghan after a massive nuclear bomb decimated all of Phyruss and the rest of the ISA ground troops. It’s up to them now to put a stop to the Helghast once and for all. The battle may be over, but the war has just begun…
The last 24hrs has seen the internet become awash with Killzone 3 news after scans made it online from the upcoming GamesPro issue which featured exclusive details.
It’s no secret that there will be a Killzone 3 coming at some point – SCEA boss Jack Tretton said so himself – but we’re now starting find out more information, and we’re getting very excited indeed.
Here we are with the latest edition of PS3 Attitude’s ‘Deals of the Week’. Every Friday we deliver our favourite PlayStation 3 game deals from across the Internet.
We’re also fair people here at Attitude Towers, so we have split this segment with two PS3 deals for the United Kingdom, and two for the United States.
A feature on Qore regarding the PS3’s 3D-enabling firmware update has led to reports that Killzone 2 will be getting a 3D update. Sony have since denied these reports.
One thing is for certain, when Jack Tretton is let loose near a microphone, us writers usually end up with something to write about. In a recent interview with Gamestrailers TV, the SCEA boss suggested that if people really wanted to “play about with cameras”, they would be better off buying a PS2 and an EyeToy. Take that Microsoft…
It’s just over a year since Killzone 2 landed on the PS3, and brought with it the best graphics we had ever seen for a console game.
To celebrate the anniversary, Guerrilla Games are giving away four …
Digital Battle has formulated a list of the top ten most expensive game budgets of all time, proving that this generation of gaming is by far the most expensive ever.
There are five titles representing PS3 on the list through Killzone 2, L.A. Noire, Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Theft Auto IV. With a budget of 100 million dollars, Grand Theft Auto IV is way ahead at the top. Final Fantasy XII is the only representative from the PS2 era listed.
There’s a certain tension in the air here at Attitude Towers. The normally carefree (or slightly bizarre in the case of Danny_D) banter has been replaced by hushed, worried whispers.
You see, there are Kittens in the Tower today. This generally wouldn’t be any cause for concern – kittens are cute right?
But these kittens have a penchant for shooting, and routinely sharpen their claws – step forward the Kamikaze Kittens.
Guerrilla Games will be celebrating with champagne and cake on the 26th because they will be celebrating the fifth birthday of Killzone. Sure, the game was released on November 2nd in the US but the team is based in the Netherlands so they celebrate the European release. Time to bring out the candles!
In celebration, Guerrilla Games wants to invite fans to the party. Here are some of the activities they have planned:
We haven’t done one of these in a long time. The very first ‘Beat The Team’ column debuted about six months ago to highlight our very first Killzone 2 clan match. Back then we scored a perfect 7-0 score, securing our first clan win. Since that glorious evening we built a 2-2 Killzone 2 online record.
Now is the time for a PS3A Killzone comeback. A reboot of the clan if you will. Our first match of the new season was upon us, and the opposing clan was primed and ready to go. Will history repeat itself?
Welcome back to another Homerun PlayStation fans! This week we will be giving more news and views on all the new content for PlayStation Home that has arrived in Europe and North America.
In an unusual turn of events, content for Sony’s biggest game this year so far is arriving in North America nearly two months after Europe. We are so used to seeing it being the other way round, although we would rather everyone got it at the same time.
PS3 Attitude is more than a website; we’re an entire movement dedicated to raising funds for charities. The more visitors we get, the more money we make – and we give it all away.
So in addition to what you see here, you’ll find us all over the Internet, spreading the word.
Here’s a quick guide to how you can get more involved with the site, have some fun and win prizes along the way.
Oh, and then there’s the whole Killzone 2 Clan thing…
From Friday at 17:30 GMT until Monday morning at 09:00, soldiers taking to the battlefield of Helghan will enjoy double XP for their hard work mowing down Helghast/ISA scum.
Speaking over at the official US blog, Guerrilla’s Sebastian Downie has some information of how the limited time points bonanza will work.
Guerrilla Studios have announced a brand new bundle releasing today called with the original name of the ‘Map Pack Bundle’ . This bundle combines all three Killzone 2 map packs together for an undisclosed discounted price.
One of the map packs included also releases today and that’s the Napalm & Cordite expansion.
In November 2008 Joris de Man took Killzone 2 to Abbey Road. He asked independent producers Open Book to document his experience and in the film Joris tells us how he has made the music for Killzone over the years.
Learn where in the world the Helghast March was born, the somewhat unusual instruments used in the Killzone 2 score and the amazing talent behind it all. Don’t think that the lengthy history of the famed Abbey Road Studio is lost on Joris or the team involved in the recording process, in fact it was a source of inspiration and drive for everyone involved.
Killzone – as you all no doubt know by now – is about to get the next round of DLC air-dropped in by the affable peeps over at Guerilla Games.
The 1.28 update is pretty much all about the upcoming map pack.
In fact, it is almost exclusively about the map pack. Note we say ‘almost’.
