North American PS Store Update for December 21st – O_O!

North American PS Store Update for December 21st – O_O!

Best update ever? Quite possibly. There is so much good content it’s not even funny. Where do we even begin? Well, PlayStation Plus Subscribers get a bunch of discounts and a game trial for Borderlands and MAG. Not bad, right? It gets better.

If you’re not a PS+ subscriber, don’t worry, there’s still a bunch of games on sale. Sonic 4, Bomberman Ultra, After Burner Climax, Worms 2, and more. It’s craziness!

Listing all of the downloadable games would be pointless, just know that there are 10 NEOGEO classics now available on the PSN, echochrome ii, Prince of Persia; The Two Thrones HD, Top Darts, and Front Mission 3 for the PSone.

Awesome right? Oh, but there’s more! This week is demos galore – Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 (notice a trend?), Blokus, and Beat Sketcher. Glorious, isn’t it? This week’s content will definitely last you for quite some time.

Happy Holidays!

North American PS Store Update for December 14th – I am Magneto, master of magnet!

North American PS Store Update for December 14th – I am Magneto, master of magnet!

This week’s update is packed with such delicious content. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can now download the DC Universe Online beta. The initial size is deceptively small, weighing in at a meager 117MBs. Don’t let that fool you though, the actual size ends up being 15GBs. It’s definitely worth checking out though.

Additionally, all five episodes of Sam & Max are free to PS+ members, along with Crash Team Racing and Fieldrunners. As usual, there’s a bunch of discounted games as well.

As for everyone else, there’s a bunch of new games in today’s update. Actually, it’s more like a bunch of old games , with titles like Prince of Persia: Warrior Within HD, Galaxy Fight (PSone Import), Prototype (overpriced), and the infamous X-Men Arcade (awesome).

On the DLC front, there’s a free update for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood that adds a new map and gamemode to the online multiplayer. The Force Unleashed II also received a ridiculously cheap bonus mission add-on. Fans of the Legacy of Kain series will be pleased to know that Raziel and Kain have finally been reunited… as a downloadable character pack for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. It’s not quite a return to Nosgoth, but it’s good enough for now. For the music lovers out there, there’s a bunch of new Rock Band songs featuring Billy Joel.

Oh, and there’s a Pocket Fighter Chun-Li avatar ;P

That’s all for now, X-Chickens! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! Welcome to die!

North American PS Store Update for November 30 – More Zombies

Zombies are all the rage right now in gaming. It seems like just about every store update has something that involves the undead, and this week is no different. Dead Nation has finally hit the PlayStation Store and you can go grab it right now for only $14.99. Also available is the cute platformer we showed you yesterday, called Funky Lab Rat.

PlayStation Plus members get a decent haul this week as they have access to a free mini, a 20% discount on Dead Nation, and a 50% discount on Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and three PSone titles.

Other than a couple of items that pack a big punch, this is actually kind of a small update. There’s not a ton of game videos or add-ons that hold a lot of weight but hopefully everyone will find something that floats their boat. Take a look at the complete list and let us know what you’ll be picking up.

North American PS Store Update for November 9 – Fancy a theme?

Hey there, it’s time once again for the PlayStation Store Update! There’s not a ton of content this time around as far as games go but if you like themes or game videos, then this may very well be the update you’ve been waiting for.

Available this week is the new PSN game Crescent Pale Mist which requires you to use ancient magic to save the world from certain annihilation. While there’s no demo or trial to go along with it, there are demos for Apache Air Assault and CSI: Fatal Conspiracy.

If you fancy those nifty dynamic themes then you should definitely cruise down to the theme section and check them out. Nine new themes grace the store today with six of them coming in dynamic fashion. Along with the overabundance of themes, there’s also 22 new videos to watch, including a new episode of Pulse and The Tester.

Click the link to check out the whole update and be sure to let us know what you’ll be picking up.

North American PS Store Update for November 2 – Another late one

North American PS Store Update for November 2 – Another late one

In case you missed it, the world almost imploded for a bunch of PlayStation 3 gamers when there was a delay in publishing the store update… or at least that’s what you’d think if you went over the PlayStation Blog. Indeed the update was a few hours late but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. It’s all updated and ready to go now for your purchasing pleasure. So what do you have to look forward to?

If you’re a Plus member, you have the God of War Collection full game trials to play (non Plus Members still get the games but not the trial) as well as a new mini titled BreakQuest and a few other odds and ends things.

Plus members and regular members alike have episode 25 of Qore to download, as well as the new action/strategy game Hoard. If you cruise over to the demo section, you’ll find demos for Rock Band 3, Aqua Panic HD and another Split/Second demo.

There’s far more to see and purchase beyond that but we’ll leave the browsing to you. Be sure to head down to the comments section after seeing the complete list and let us know what you’ll be getting.

North American PS Store Update for October 26th – Zombies and the Forsaken Dragon Ball

North American PS Store Update for October 26th – Zombies and the Forsaken Dragon Ball

This week has quite a bit of content. For downloadable games there’s Blacklight: Tango Down and Superstars V8 Racing, which is nice. It took awhile for Blacklight to hit the PSN for some reason though.

You’ll definitely want to check out the demo for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. This game is made by the developers of Folklore and it’s looking quite beautiful. If that’s not enough for you, there’s a demo for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, Blacklight, and TV Superstars.

The highlight is definitely the undead DLC for Red Dead Redemption. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber you can even purchase it at a reduced price. Not bad! The Fan Axxess pack for Smackdown vs Raw 2011 is now available and this pre-purchases any DLC coming to the game in the future. It’s an interesting idea by THQ, let’s see if it works out in the end. Move support for High Velocity Bowling is now available to all PSN users and it’s still free. If you have a PS Move you’ll probably want to try that out.

If you’re a fan of Super Street Fighter IV, you’ll be happy to know that the first pack of new costumes have been released. Enjoy!

North American PS Store Update for October 19th – You are already dead

Atatatatatata!

Today’s PS Store update is pretty awesome. Why? Because there’s a demo for Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage. That’s not your thing? That’s OK. There’s far more than just that.

There’s tons of deals this week for PlayStation Plus members – Burn Zombie Burn, Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee, and Bloons are now available free of charge. There’s even a demo for Tomb Raider: Underworld, which is now available as a downloadable title. The highlight for Plus members is obviously the Killzone 3 beta theme. Download it ASAP, only the first 5,000 will join the beta.

For everyone else, there’s tons of deals as well. The best ones are for both Oddworld games as they are half priced. For those looking for new games to downloads, there’s Aqua Panic and Costume Quest. As we mentioned earlier, Shienryu and Tall Unlimited are the latest additions to the PSone Import Store. In celebration of The Shoot’s launch today, there’s a new demo just waiting for you to play.

In terms of DLC, there’s new content for Zen Pinball, Dead Rising 2, ModNation Racers, and more.

Enjoy before your head explodes!

North American PS Store Update for October 12 – The Hedgehog Returns

It’s that time again! Time for the North American PlayStation Store Update! While the update itself is pretty large, it’s a few of the games and demos released this week that really make it such an awesome addition.

For starters, there’s Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 and Dead Space Ignition. As if those games aren’t appealing enough, there’s a demo for both of them, meaning that if you’re not traditionally a Sonic or Dead Space fan, you can still get in on the action without it costing you anything.

Speaking of demos, there’s also one for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, just in case you want to see what it’s like on the dark side. Outside of that there’s also a special section with all kinds Halloween-themed games, themes, avatars and DLC.

Have a look at the complete list below and be sure to let us know what you’re picking up.

North American PS Store Update for October 5 – Deadliest Impact

North American PS Store Update for October 5 – Deadliest Impact

It’s time again for the North American PlayStation Store Update! This week is a tad lighter than the few before it but that certainly doesn’t mean there’s not some good content to be found here.

If you’re a Plus subscriber, you’ve got a new episode to Qore to look forward do (as do non Plus Qore subscribers) as well as a Mini titled, Bubble Trubble and a couple of themes. Beyond that, the Plus update is only discounts to previous released content, although it is worth noting that one of those discounts is for a game that is just being released – Alien Breed: Impact.

For the rest of us, there are two new games: Deadliest Warrior: The Game and Alien Breed: Impact – both of those titles have a demo.

If none of that interests you, there’s plenty of other demos, videos, add-on content and media, so surely you can find something that will tickle your fancy. Have a look at the list and be sure to let us know what you’re picking up.

North American PS Store Update for September 28 – The Demo Edition

It’s that time again! Time for the North American PlayStation Store Update! We’ve effectively named this one the ‘demo update’ because it containts six demos. So if you’re the ‘try it before you buy it’ type, then this is the update for you!

Aside from all the demolicious goodness, we’ve also got 3 new games to download. If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, this might not be as exciting for you since 2 of them were available for download last week. Regardless, Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue, Swords & Soldiers and the long awaited Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light are all available.

If none of the above interests you, then there’s plenty of other add-on content, wallpaper, avatars and price drops to take a look at. Put some thought in to it and be sure to let us know what you’ll be picking up.

North American PS Store Update for September 20th – The demon poop hammer returns

The PSN has had ridiculously good updates lately. This update came earlier than usual thanks to a scheduled maintenance. If you didn’t access the Store before the maintenance started then you’re out of luck until it finishes at 5pm pacific.

First, there’s a bunch of deals for the pointless PlayStation Plus subscription service. Zen Pinball is free, amongst other games. Swords & Soldiers is available earlier for PS Plus members as well.

In terms of deals, Mega Man 10 is half priced. Definitely pick that up. If you wait until next week, Mega Man 9, 10, and avatars will be bundled together for $14.99.

Next we have three new games: Blade Kitten, DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue, and Sonic Adventure. Ok, maybe Sonic Adventure isn’t exactly new but you know what we mean. If that’s not enough for you, there’s actually a whopping seven demos to try out.

The PSone Import Store makes its debut this week. The first two games available are Cho Aniki and Gaia Seed, two classic Japanese exclusive shmups.

Enjoy :)

First, the legendary Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is only $4.99. Castlevania Chronicles also received a price drop and you can buy that for only $2.99. Speaking of PSone Classics, Soviet Strike is now available. That alone is pretty awesome.

There’s also a bunch of price drops and bundles. Mega Man 9, Age of Booty, and Monkey Island 2 are only $4.99 now. Even better, the Monkey Island 1 & 2 bundle can be purchase for $7.49. Now that is a deal!

You want games, right? Well, there’s Space Invaders Infinity Gene, My Aquarium, Tumble (PS Move), and Worms 2. Looking for demos? There’s plenty of that too. North American PS Store Update For September 7th – Worth the wait

This week has a very good amount of content, although PlayStation Plus members are still getting ripped off. A trial for Warhawk? Seriously? Come on, Sony.

The Resident Evil 5: Untold Stories bundle is now on sale for $5.99. That’s a very good price for Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape. You won’t regret that purchase.

TerRover is the lone downloadable game for the week and there’s a demo just waiting for you to try out. The fun doesn’t stop there. Also available are demos for the very ugly looking Quantum Theory, Sengoku Basara, and Legend of the Guardians.

And of course there’s a bunch of DLC from all the usual suspects. Enjoy! ^_^

Awesome update is awesome!

If that’s not enough for you, be sure to try out the demos for Vanquish and RUSE. In terms of add-on content, Minerva’s Den is now available for Bioshock 2. Yakuza 3 also received DLC in the form of a Challenge Pack. This pack lets you play competitively against friends in Pool, Bowling, Darts, and Golf. It also features alternate costumes.

We don’t talk much about the PSP but today is a great day for Sony’s handheld. And that’s simply because Valkyria Chronicles II was just released. It’s truly a must-have title.

Tons of games are also on sale, including Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and all nine titles from TikCreat.

Enjoy :)

North American PS Store Update For August 24th – Shank, PixelJunk Racers, and a whole lot more

This week has a lot of content for everyone. PS Plus members can download Mushroom Wars, 2Xtreme, and Vempires for free. Perhaps the best deal is the Soldner-X bundle pack. It’s only $10.79 and includes both games. Alternatively, you can just buy Soldner-X 2 for $9.09. You can’t go wrong with a great game.

PlayStation Plus members can also buy a 2 year PS3 protection plan for $44.99. Normal PSN users only get one year protection and that costs $59.99. Perhaps this isn’t the best use of the PS + benefits.

You want new games to play, right? Well, you’re in luck. Shank, Press Your Luck, PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap, and Motorstorm 3D Rift are now available to everyone on the PSN. There isn’t a demo for Press Your Luck, but there is one for Shank. Motorstorm 3D Rift acts as a bit of a demo in itself, but it’ll cost you $9.99.

The Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 demo finally hit North America today. There isn’t much in this demo aside from a boss battle. There’s no versus mode so you’re stuck using Naruto. There’s also a new beta for MAG out now and you’ll need the full game in order to participate. Oh, and there’s already an update. Yay!

North American PS Store Update For August 17th – Go download the Joe Danger demo

North American PS Store Update For August 17th – Go download the Joe Danger demo

This is a good week for the PSN. There has been tons of Gamescom news, but how about stuff we can actually play right now?

Top Gun is now available and its the lone downloadable game for this week. Be sure to read our preview if you haven’t done so already.

Don’t worry though, there’s more content for everyone. There’s a demo for Joe Danger, NHL 2011, and HAWX 2. These demos should keep you occupied for awhile. Let us know what you thought of Joe Danger.

The usual DLC suspects are all present. There’s more downloadable music for Rock Band, the Rock Band Network, and Guitar Hero. Fans of Marvel will be pleased to know that there’s a new LBP costume pack featuring Magneto, Storm, The Hulk, Green Goblin, and The Punisher.

You’ll also find new DLC skins for Uncharted 2, new karts for Modnation Racers, and the create expansion for Skate 3. Enjoy!

North American PS Store Update For August 3rd – Groovy deals and a worm named Jim

North American PS Store Update For August 3rd – Groovy deals and a worm named Jim

Haggar approves of this update! RAWR!
*piledrives a car*

Tons of deals this week. We already mentioned the contents of the Summer Sale but there’s even more! Most notably, Final Fight: Double Impact is 50% off. There is nothing more satisfying than piledriving your way through countless waves of thugs as you try to save your daughter from a dude in a wheel chair. Yeah!

PS3 owners finally gets their hands on Earthworm Jim HD today. It’ll be interesting to see how new gamers react to the very oldschool design. Gameloft didn’t make any changes to the gameplay at all. All the problems that existed then are still an issue now. There is a trial so let us know what you thought of it.

Lots of DLC this week from all the usual suspects. The 3rd Marvel pack for LBP is out. Now you can dress your sackboy up as Wolverine and slice your way to happiness. Trine has a new downloadable level and it’ll only cost you a dollar. Not bad, although it was free for PC owners. Perhaps the most bitter DLC of the bunch comes from Aksys Games. Squirrel girl Makoto is now available, which is nice, but she’s $8. There’s also a bunch of other pointless DLC for the game that will cost you quite a penny. Colors, voices? Really? Why would someone buy that? Just stick with the Squirrel and you’ll be fine.

North American PS Store Update For July 27th – Disney Takes Over

It’s time for the North American PlayStation Store update again, and unlike last week, this one is packing some content… assuming you like PSone classics or are a PlayStation Plus Subscriber.

If you answered yes to PlayStation Plus, you’ll be very interested to see that there are three new free games that have been added to PlayStation Plus lineup – Critter Crunch, Syphon Filter and Kahoots.

Or if you’re one of the gamers that have been trolling the PlayStation Blog comments section demanding more PSone classics, you’ll be thrilled to see an unprecedented four new titles – Toy Story Racer, A Bugs Life, Hercules and The Emperor’s New Groove.

That’s a whole lot of Disney…

North American PS Store Update For July 20th – Deals and DLC (again)

This week is pretty meh. There’s a craptacular PSone Classic that nobody wanted and a new episode of Sam & Max. Oh, and if you have PlayStation Plus you can try out Kane and Lynch 2. That’s it. The rest of this update is DLC, Deals, and Avatars.

The deals are quite good. After Burner Climax and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 are 50% off! Definitely take advantage of that deal while you can. For the fighting game fanatics out there, there are four avatars from Street Fighter III – 3rd Strike (Hugo, Q, Elena, Alex). Pretty boring update…
