At Sony’s gamescom conference the company announced some new features planned for PlayTV, the digital TV tuner available in many countries in the PAL territory.

Last week we said that PlayTV is getting a new patch that adds new features including an SD upscaler, skip the menu system to go straight to watching TV, and allowing you to adjust the volume on the Blu-ray remote.
Well the patch has now been released today! The update will take the software version of the PlayTV device to v1.10.
The digital switchover is starting to roll out across many regions in the UK, so what better time for the popular Digital TV adapter for the PS3 to receive a brand new feature-filled update.
PlayTV is currently only available in a select number of countries within the PAL market, and not only does it allow you to watch programmes, you can record them too and even stream content to your PSP.

With promises of TV that I could pause, fast-forward and rewind, as well as record on a whim, I plunged in and bought the diminutive gadgety add-on.
