US PSN Video Content update for January 29th – This Is It!

You’re supposed to say the title in your best Spartan voice impersonation but since this is the internet and things get lost in the typing, the exclamation mark will have to suffice.

This weeks video update brings the late Michael Jackson by way of his final performance, This Is It. In addition to the film, there is an exclusive PSN clip available free of charge.

Firmware 3.15 now mandatory

It’s always nice to be given the option, but, truth be told, we’re not entirely sure why the recent PlayStation 3 firmware update (3.15) wasn’t obligatory.

Either way, you can’t escape 3.15 anymore as it’s now mandatory.

US PSN Video Content Update for January 15th – 20 wonderful years of The Simpsons

It’s crazy to think that The Simpsons has been on television for 20 wonderful years, making it the longest running American sitcom, animated program, and entertainment series. In its 21st season, you can now download and watch episodes from the comfort of your PS3.

If animated TV shows aren’t your fancy, then you’ll be pleased to know that a new section has popped up on the PSN Store; Reduced Movies. This section features films that have received a permanent price drop.

US PSN Video Content for January 8th – THE Final Destination

This weeks US PSN video content includes the cheesy horror film The Final Destination. This is the forth film in the series and proves that nothing is ever final. We’d recommend some better movies such as District 9, The Hangover, and Paranormal Activity; all of which make appearance on this weeks Top 10 Movies.

In the free category there’s a sneak peak of the new season of 24 as well as the five part mini series The Bannen Way to check out. It’s all free so you have nothing to lose.

Premium Avatars actually exist and will be coming to Europe today

This was unexpected. The HK PlayStation Store just updated and it contains LittleBigPlanet Premium Avatars to purchase. Could this be a sign of things to come for other regions? Yes, at least for Europeans.

EU PSN Video Content Update for December 11th – Short & Sweet

This weeks EU update isn’t quite as large as the US’s but it sure does have a lot more quality films. The EU Store is definitely starting to build a quality place for all your movie needs.

The Hangover tops off our most wanted list, with Inglorious Basterds coming in at a close second. In addition, there are a few films that have been given the 5.1 audio update so if you’ve been waiting for those, now’s your chance to grab them.

Sony change PSN Terms of Service [UPDATE]

In what will likely become an unpopular move by many, Sony has changed their PlayStation Network Terms of Service with immediate effect and this will have consequences for some people.

In the past, many people have abused the allowance of activating a PSN account on up to five PS3 systems and chose to share their login details to other users so that they can get those games and other paid items for free.

Gaming: The Hard Edge of Sanity?

“I see gamers as the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see it squandered. Damn it, an entire generation playing rubbish film tie-ins and redneck shallow shooters on cheap consoles riddled with design faults…

What are we going to do about it?”

U.S. PSN Video Content for October 30th – It’s Stan Helsing!

This weeks video content update is a warm welcome after the rather disappointing content last week. The most notable films include The Born Ultimatum, The Proposal, and Orphan if you’re in a Halloween mood.

Even more interesting is Stan Helsing, a parody on the vampire hunter himself. Why Kenan Thompson thought to go from Saturday Night Live to this is beyond us…

U.S. PSN Video Content for October 23rd – Ninjas Rule

U.S. PSN Video Content for October 23rd – Ninjas Rule

This weeks video content update is rather mediocre in the film range, featuring many no name movies and ones you just don’t want to watch. To make up for it, the PlayStation Store is offering the first episode of Naruto Shippuden Uncut for FREE. So if you’re a fan of teen ninjas anime, then you’ll be very pleased.

Other additions to the store included trailers for Armored (sweet) and Stepfather (meh). Wolverine continues to dominate the top spot with the relatively unknown Trick ‘r Treat coming in close behind.

U.S. PSN Video Content for October 16th – Bats, Vampires, and Erin Brockovich

This weeks PSN Video Store update brings some good stuff, some bad, and some we’ve just never heard of. Halloween is just around the corner so why not bring out the costumes. Batman Forever, Blade, and even Superman make an appearance on the store.

If you feel like a good scare, then there are a few horror movies to wet your whistle as well…
