European PS Store Update for March 16 – Time to Move

This week the flow of new content has slowed to more of a trickle. Slam Bolt Scrappers represents the lone new title.

You know it’s a slow week when the highlights come largely from the demo pool. Nevertheless the trio of demos are intriguing. Finally we get to play Crysis 2 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 (Tiger has now been wiped off the cover).

If you are looking for more games that allow you to wave your hands around then you are in luck. The discounted games this week are themed around the motion peripheral. Although the week’s offerings are meek at best you may find that piece of add-on content that you have been waiting for. Go on in and have a look.

North American PS Store Update for March 15 – Spring Fever 2011

Spring is upon us people. Flowers are blooming and baseball’s back. But that’s not all, this week on the PlayStation Store ‘Spring Fever 2011′ brings us a pair of discounted titles and the introduction of one of the year’s most anticipated PSN downloads, Slam Bolt Scrappers.

Other highlights this week include Hard Corps: Uprising (if you’re a Contra fan you are not going to want to miss this one) and a great crop of demos. As per usual we’ve got the update sorted out for you. Go ahead and dive into this week’s batch of new content. There’s plenty to be had.

European PS Store Update for March 9 – Yet another avalanche of avatars

European PS Store Update for March 9 – Yet another avalanche of avatars

This week the cupboards are rather bare. No new games to speak of aside from the trial and unlock for Back to the Future: The Game.

If you’ve noticed that you and your current avatar have grown apart over time and the mere sight of Crash Bandicoot’s face evokes a nauseous feeling, you are in luck my friend. Brand spanking new avatars featuring Killzone 3, Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption are now available. A perfect rebound.

As per usual there is a hefty amount of add-on content hitting the store. Perhaps you will unearth something that strikes your fancy. Happy hunting.

North American PS Store Update for March 8 – The results are in

Well PS fans it’s time to reap what you have sown. Last month gamers were given the opportunity to vote on your favorite games featured on the PlayStation store in the last year.

Of course there’s more but your going to have to head on in and look for yourself. Happy hunting.

European PS Store Update for March 2 – Fast cars and avatars

European PS Store Update for March 2 – Fast cars and avatars

PixelJunk Monsters 2 rules the update this week but what the avatars lack in content they make up for in sheer numbers.

Not to be outdone by the swarm of avatars is a healthy batch of add-on content. The Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack is sure to be the top download of the week but do not look past Dead Space 2 – Severed and the Dragon Age 2 downloads.

All told it looks like a good week. Take a look and download away.

North American PS Store Update for March 1 – Pixel Junk Shooter 2

While we wait for the folks at SOE to count all of your votes for the Gamer’ Choice Awards (let’s hope they’re not based in Florida) there’s a fresh batch of content ready to be downloaded.

This week’s offering begins and ends with the release of Pixel Junk Shooter 2. The physics based rescue story has been refreshed to include an online battle mode that promises to improve the already addictive gameplay.

Other highlights include a full game download of ModNation Racers and a handful of demos. Get in and get downloading.

European PS Store Update for February 23 – Try before you buy

This week is all about demos and add-on content. Yes there are more minis on sale this week (the same from last week) but you saw that coming.

Highlights this week include demos for Dragon Age 2 and Yakuza4. If you’re looking for add-on content, Fallout: New Vegas – Dead Money is hitting the store to go with brand new downloads for Killzone 3 and Need for Speed.

Of course that’s not all the store has to offer this week. Check out the list and start downloading.

North American PS Store Update for February 22 – Vote for your future dollars

North American PS Store Update for February 22 – Vote for your future dollars

Normally as consumers our only vehicle with which to voice our opinions with any sort of weight is with our dollars. How can Activision charge $15 for a pack of broken maps? Because it was downloaded about 2.5 million times in the first week.

This week however we get the chance to actually vote for our favorite games featured on PSN in the last year. Winners will be determined in the following categories: exclusives, PS3 games, PSP games, and minis. Said winners will then go on sale following the March 1 deadline (although if you bought it, loved it, and then voted for it what good would a sale be?). Make sure you get to the store and cast your vote.

European PS Store Update for February 16 – Time to play some Killzone 3

Well folks there are again more minis to be had this week as the February Mega minis Sale rolls on. A brand new slate of minis has burst onto the scene replacing the tired, old slate from last week.

Minis aside the highlight of the update has to be the Killzone 3 single player demo. A game that looks promising enough to be one of the system’s landmark titles this year. All that stands between you and shooting Helghast are 1522MB.

There is more to be had here so get in and start downloading.

North American PS Store Update for February 15 – Great Scott!

It’s update time PlayStation fans. This week we’ve got yet another PlayStation Plus update and there is plenty to be had for those of us yet to subscribe to the premium service.

Highlights this week include a Yakuza 4 demo and a flashback to the wild and crazy 80′s when skateboarding nobodies were able to travel through time with eccentric kook scientists in an appalling car. You may notice that the normal GuitarHero update is missing and it will continue its hiatus into the foreseeable future.

Crack open this week’s gift box and see if there’s anything for you.

Final Fantasy I and II coming soon to PSN in Europe

The PSN is home to many of the great Final Fantasy games such as VII and VIII but soon European gamers will get the opportunity to purchase the two titles that started it all; Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II.

That is of course if you missed out on the original NES version, PSP version, or any of the many other versions out there.

European PS Store Update for February 9th – a few great games and the minis sale marches on

If you haven’t done so already the PS Store is determined to save you some coin with the continuance of the Mega minis Sale. Although one could make the case that purchasing BREAKQUEST at any price is counterproductive.

Those of us not into the minis can look forward to a trial and unlock for the critically acclaimed Plants vs. Zombies and the release of Explodemon! and Tim Schafer’s Stacked. Other than that it looks like we have somewhat of a dry week and Vicheous’s craving for The UnderGarden will unfortunately continue on to next week. But who knows you maybe you didn’t even know you wanted a Tron avatar. Have a look and see.

North American PS Store Update for February 8th – blobs, zombies and nesting dolls

North American PS Store Update for February 8th – blobs, zombies and nesting dolls

It’s safe to say that this is a pretty nice time to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. Last week’s PS Store update gave said subscribers three games for free. For an encore PS+ gamers are granted free access to Tim Schafer’s Stacking (this not that) , an innovative new downloadable title that has players jumping in and out of a multitude of uniquely powered dolls.

If you’re still on the fence with PS+ there’s no need to fret because we’ve got a couple of great games making their debut on the store. If you are the one person that has yet to play Plants vs. Zombies then this is your week to get on board. In the end this is a good week to own a PS3 so let’s get into it.

Ubisoft’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was the best selling game for the period, selling 190,000 units. However, it was The Behemoth’s Castle Crashers that churned out the most money with $2.1 million from 143,000 units sold.

European PS Store Update for February 2nd – a fist full of minis

This week on the European store minis are brought to the forefront via the February mega minis sale. We’ve got 20 minis that have been discounted plus two all new minis.

Also get yourself in on the Killzone 3 multiplayer open beta and check out the trial and unlock of Tetris because believe it or not the game shaped up to be worth a go given the implementation of online leaderboards and multiplayer. If new fangled games aren’t quite your bag take a trip to the past with Crash Bandicoot 2 and enjoy the polygonal visuals or get back to your arcade roots with X-Men Arcade.

North American PS Store update for February 1st – a PS Plus hat trick

This week on the PlayStation Store Ps3 owners once again get access to a bevy of new content and those of us that saw fit to subscribe to PlayStation Plus are being granted three games for the unbeatable price of free.

Some of the highlights of the week include Bionic Commnado: Rearmed 2 (the sequel to the downloadable remake) which looks like it plays similarly to the previous outing and Assassin’s Creed II Deluxe Edition which is comprised of the full game plus all available downloadable content. Don’t forget we have got a review up for Tales from Space: About a Blob and a rather interesting interview regarding The UnderGarden.

European PS Store Update for January 26th – Get your discounts

Perhaps their isn’t a great new game to be had this week on the PlayStation Store but we do have access to a host of discounts on previously released downloads.

Some of the gems of this week’s harvest include Red Faction: Guerrilla and Mega Man 9 & 10.

Do any of these markdowns warrant your money?
