What makes Shift 2 different from other racers is that it’s designed entirely from the driver’s perspective and not so much from a car perspective, like say Gran Turismo 5 is.
EA wants you to feel every bump on the road and every head movement. They want you to feel the adrenaline rush of the racing experience, even if it isn’t entirely true-to-life with regards to its driving physics.
In the past six months racing fans have seen Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Test Drive Unlimited 2, and the long awaited Gran Turismo 5. With a lineup like that one wonders exactly what Shift 2 Unleashed could have to offer that differentiates it from the pack.
Perhaps these trailers and the plethora of hi-res screenshots will provide a greater understanding. After all you could use a new desktop wallpaper.
Well then, dear PS3 lovers… it will soon be the Year of the Rabbit, the happiest of all the Chinese zodiac signs.
In Chinese astrology the Rabbit is considered to be happy and popular. Rabbits are known for their artistic talent and good taste. You might say there are certain attributes of the Rabbit that foretell of a great year for Sony’s flagship console.
So, is that the case? Or will 2011 be more a ‘dog of a year’ than a metaphorical ‘lucky rabbit’s foot’?
Earlier this month, EA announced Shift 2: Unleashed, the sequel to last year’s simulation racer Need for Speed: Shift. Curiously, there appears to be less emphasis on “Need for Speed” in the title, although it still comes under the Need for Speed branch of games, and this (along with the suggestive title “Unleashed”) gives us the impression that EA has different plans for the game – that they want the name “Shift” to become famous in its own right, separate from their other arcade racers.
EA has announced Shift 2: Unleashed, the sequel to last year’s intense driving simulator Need for Speed: Shift, with Slightly Mad Studios back developing the game.
