An unspecified number of staff have been laid off at LucasArts as the company reorganises “its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio.”
The Star Wars developer doesn’t want to to go into specifics but one source has described the layoffs as being a “massacre.”
The Star Wars game time line is one that is crammed full of ups and downs. Unfortunately 2008s ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ was a mediocre affair, and didn’t really live up to the hype that surrounded it.

LucasArts and TT Games have announced that the award winning LEGO Star Wars franchise is making a comeback – this time set during the Clone Wars. Will the Force be strong with this one, or are LucasArts flogging a dead Wookie?
The release of Dragon Age: Origins in November marked BioWare’s first appearance on the PlayStation. Clearly the company enjoyed developing for the PS3 as they’ve already started working on new titles to come our way.

Fans of Lucas Arts’ brilliantly written, though not necessarily brilliantly executed, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed now have yet another reason to pick up a lightsabre and dabble with the Dark Side once again.
Announced back in July, the game’s trophy update is now available.
LucasArts have announced that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will see further expansion this Autumn through a new downloadable level that promises to take the story in a new direction.
In addition, they also announced Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, a special new version of the game that will show gamers the deepest, darkest side of the Force in a story that puts them on a collision course with Luke Skywalker himself.
The Ultimate Sith Edition will include all of the original missions found in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as well as content previously only available via download and an all-new exclusive bonus level.
