When 505 Games announced Supremacy MMA last year, our first thoughts were not positive. We won’t lie; we didn’t think we needed another MMA game. THQ has that genre sewn-up with their UFC games, and EA Sports’ MMA is a very good alternative. We could not see what Kung Fu Factory could do to supplant them.
So what gives them an edge? “We’re not beholden to any sort of brand or organisation, we’re here to make all of our decisions and at the top of the list is great gameplay”, explains Ricci Rukavina, founder, CEO and creative director at Kung Fu Factory. In front of us is the game and Ricci is showing us its ins and outs. It is not what we expected.

The world of Ultimate Fighting is set to return to consoles later this month with UFC Undisputed 2010.
Can this game fix last year’s problems and deliver a knockout blow to both the WWE and Fight Night games, as well as fending off EA’s upcoming MMA game?
If you’re planning on buying UFC Undisputed 2010, and live in the UK, you may want to buy the game from HMV.

EA Sports have unveiled new footage for their upcoming mixed martial arts title, EA Sports MMA. The in-game footage features excessive posturing from various MMA superstars as well as some brutally violent sparring.
EA Sports MMA is shaping up nicely, but can it compete with the established UFC 2010 Undisputed from THQ?
EA Sports have released a trailer for their upcoming MMA game. As expected, the trailer features several short-haired men trying to turn their opponent’s faces into something resembling an aubergine, and they appear to doing a very good job.
The latest screenshots of UFC Undisputed 2010 shows you how to break faces like a pro.
Details have surfaced of what changes THQ will be introducing with their first patch for UFC 2009 Undisputed.
It’s the usual list of balance tweaks but, if you’re one of the many people out there who have nearly arm-barred a member of your family in frustration due to the amount of cheating going on in the online mode of the game, you’ll be happy to hear THQ are addressing the issue.
THQ officials revealed to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that MMA apparel pioneers, TV stars and cage side fixtures the TapouT crew will be featured as unlockable characters in UFC 2009: Undisputed.
Details about bonus GameStop exclusive characters Ryan Bader and Efrain Escudero were also discussed, so were THQ’s plans for future DLC.
If your idea of a great night out (or in for that matter) is watching two guys beat the living crap out of each other in a weirdly shaped cage that neither can escape from, then you already know that UFC 2009 Undisputed is out next month.
In preparation for this onslaught of triangle holds, rear naked chokes, kimuras, arm-bars and other techniques that hurt as bad as they sound, THQ will be releasing a demo of the game on the PSN on April 23rd.
Color us impressed. UFC fighters are not the only ones accurately depicted with great graphical detail; corner men, referees, ring girls and even the TV crew are too. The audience doesn’t look bad either.
Joining UFC champions Georges “Rush” St. Pierre and “The Prodigy” B.J. Penn are GSP’s trainer and corner man Greg Jackson, referee Mario Yamasaki, and Octagon Girl Edith Labelle among others.
