Earlier today we told you some of the amazing statistics that the Unchated 2: Among Thieves multiplayer demo has accomplished. Well, those statistics are about to get a huge increase over the course of the weekend because Sony and Naughty Dog are going to be giving away 30 Fortune Hunter Editions in the next three days.
The Uncharted 2 demo has been out for over a week now, and so far it has been extremely successful as millions of you have downloaded it.
Sony are so impressed that they have decided to brag about the success of the demo with a list of statistics.
Getting bored of the demo? Well we have the thing for you: The Uncharted 2 mini-game!
Now available on the European Uncharted 2 website, you can play a mini-game based on the biggest PS3 exclusive so far.
Not so long ago we told you about Twitter support coming to the Uncharted 2. There was a mixed response from gamers on whether this was really a good or bad thing, or if they cared at all.
Sony today has confirmed the final release date for Uncharted 2 in Europe, and it isn’t too far off.
October 16th is the date to put into your diary, and that happens to be only one day after the North America release.
Well, we weren’t expecting this one: Uncharted 2 supports Twitter!
With this new feature in Uncharted 2, you can select the option for the game to automatically tweet your followers when you do certain activities…
What can you do when you’re given 1.5 Gigabytes of space to put a demo out with? A ton, if you’re developer Naughty Dog, that is. We’ve just got more details regarding a demo of one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Uncharted 2, following the announcement we made earlier.
So when can you get your hands on this mega-demo?
That’s right, folks – there’s a new Uncharted Demo in the pipeline.
It’s not just a re-run of that beta demo that some managed to wangle their way into, either.
This will be a fully fledged demo open to everyone, and will available sooner rather than later to boot.
How soon is that?
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be receiving a collector’s edition like many of the other games on the market. Unlike the rest of those games though, this one cannot be purchased, at least until one of them hits eBay.
What makes this edition so special is that not only does it include an exact in-game replica of the Phurba Dagger Artifact and Collectible Art Book, but the Collector case is actually autographed by Naughty Dog!
We knew that Nathan Drake would be tracking through snow and ice in his latest adventure. We saw him run across a crowded city only to be shot at by ground troops and helicopters.
Now, witness Nate taverse a labyrinthine cavern high in the Tibetan mountains. He’ll need all the parkour skills he can muster up if he is to stay alive in this puzzling challenge level entitled Heart of Ice…
Though not as awe inspiring as when we saw it first-hand at Cologne, watching the new Uncharted 2: Among Thieves trailer again still brings a solitary tear to our eye.
Starting in a similar fashion to our first glimpse of Drake back in the reveal trailer all those months ago, bloodied and crawlingthrough a blizzard, the footage goes all Michael Bay on us with copious amounts of slow-mo and a rousing theme.
Rarely do we post anything here at PS3 Attitude without checking out the footage ourselves first. This, however, is one of those unusual occasions where we’re simply going to blind post and hope for the best.
The reason? With the recent multiplayer demo and numerous media reveals, we feel like we’ve already played Uncharted 2 and the game is still weeks away from launch. At this point, some of us have decided to take a step back from the game before we OD (Over Drake) and experience waves of déjà-vu when we finally do get our hands on it.
If you wish to engorge yourself in over 5 full minutes of single-player footage from the new Drake tale – then go ahead. We’re not going to stop you. We’ll be the ones standing over in the corner with our hands firmly clasped over our eyes and ears*.
Those of you hoping for a free demo of the single player mode in Uncharted 2 will be a little disappointed as Naughty Dog has out ruled that possibility.
Not to worry though, because gamers will get the chance to play a multiplayer demo online which is probably just as good, if not better than a single player one.
We’ve no idea why it’s taken so damn long, but it appears our American readers will finally be able to get their hands on something us Europeans have enjoyed for months now.
Drake’s inaugural adventure, the seminal and beloved Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, will enter the annals of the Greatest Hits on August 16th and be available to purchase at a fraction of its normal price.
That fraction being a little more than half.
The Uncharted 2: Among Thieves website has just launched and it features brand new screenshots as well as interactive elements including a 360 degree view of the Nepal Warzone map.
This game looks so stunning it is unbelievable. And Sony aren’t afraid to show off their tonne of awards from the major media websites for their E3 showing.
Now that we know when it’s coming, expect a deluge of Uncharted 2 footage to emerge over the coming weeks in an effort to tide us over before the big day in October.
First up: a new multiplayer video.
Confirmed to Kotaku, and then reiterated in an official tweet from Naughty Dog, the release date for Game of the Year candidate Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in NA is out of the bag.
You can now encircle October 13th on your game calendar as when your other half should plan that long awaited trip to their folks.
You’re going to be busy.
Last week we posted up some new cut-scene footage from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. This week, it’s time to get a look at some actual new gameplay action taken from the Heart of Ice level.
Taking place after the meeting with Karl Schafer, Drake and his sherpa guide have taken to the gelid Himalayas in search of — whatever Drake is looking for this time.
For those of you who want to go into Uncharted 2: Among Thieves fresh, look away now.
For the rest of you esurient hounds tearing the web asunder in the search for new footage of the game, we’ve got something you may want to see.
