PS3 Attitude is pleased to welcome on board three new writers. Like the rest of our team, they are giving up their time free of charge to deliver the news to you and help us raise more money for charity.
In addition to our new writers, we’re further expanding our operation to include a number of back-office volunteers who will be helping to maintain our presence across social networks, such as Facebook for example.
So who are these awesome individuals?
One of our awesome team members is taking a three month sabbatical to travel the world, and we wanted to make special mention here so that our regular readers can leave him a ‘bon voyage’ message or two.
And unlike the song lyric above, we do know when he’ll be back again…
PS3 Attitude is more than a website; we’re an entire movement dedicated to raising funds for charities. The more visitors we get, the more money we make – and we give it all away.
So in addition to what you see here, you’ll find us all over the Internet, spreading the word.
Here’s a quick guide to how you can get more involved with the site, have some fun and win prizes along the way.
Oh, and then there’s the whole Killzone 2 Clan thing…
Good day dear readers.
The swanky new login bar we implemented recently just didn’t work out. Once we’d got it home, it started re-arranging all our furniture and brought it’s pet bug collection along with it, so we had to be cruel to be kind and kick it out on the street.
But here’s the good news…
We’re always striving to provide you, our gracious readers, with the best features and tools here at PS3 Attitude, and we hope the latest changes we’ve made will be to your liking.
In one of our biggest updates for some time, we’ve added new commenting features, a great new login system and various other cool additions.
One week ago we announced one of our biggest competitions to date during our PSFree Attitude weekly giveaway feature; the Search, Win and Gloat (S.W.A.G.) Competition.
And the response was awesome – you entered the competition in your hundreds, trawling across the site finding clue after clue until you reached the magic keyword.
Now, we can reveal the two lucky winners of the competition, with a reminder of what they won.
Welcome to our first ever Search, Win, and Gloat Competition, also known as SWAG.
In our recent trip to visit a little expo named E3, we were able to get our hands on some goodies and what better thing to do than pass them on to our readers. Right? Of course!
Over at the Official EU PlayStation Blog, SCEE have been detailing some updates to the already popular Portable ID feature.
In fact, these new updates do remind us somewhat of a certain ‘Trophy Wars’ feature we ran here at PS3 Attitude some time ago!
Yes, soon you’ll be able to compare your trophies online with your friends and see how they’re doing against your tally with a fully automatic leaderboard.
We have had a few great moments at PS3 Attitude over the years, and this weekend we hit yet another milestone.
After jumping on the Twitter bandwagon very late, only starting to tweet on January 26th 2009, we hit the 1,000 follower mark just five months later.
We’ve had our own internal celebration (involving drinks and nibbles), so here’s our gift to you, the people who made it all possible.
Today PS3 Attitude is pleased to announce that not only will we actually be at E3 2009, but we’re also hosting our own charity shindig.
Yes, this is your chance to meet us in person in Los Angeles and have a drink with us and our friends and contacts from the video game industry.
And if that wasn’t enough, as well as helping us raise some serious cash for our Charity Fund, you’ll get the chance to win some cool prizes too.
Starting today, and repeating every Tuesday, PS3 Attitude is becoming PSFree Attitude.
Yes, we’ll be giving away all sorts of freebies to our loyal Twitter followers every week with prizes ranging from PSN codes for new games and DLC to physical swag that we have here at Attitude Towers.
We told you it was a good time to be following us on Twitter, didn’t we?
One word. Everyone’s lips.
Whilst we certainly weren’t the first video game news site to join the 140-character bandwagon, we are making the most of the service.
And soon, you too can make the most of following us on 2009’s favourite social network.
Did somebody say ‘giveaway’?
PS3 Attitude has today handed over its entire operating profit to games industry charity GamesAid.
On the back of this news, PS3 Attitude has decided that now is the best time to further expand the team and help generate greater profits for GamesAid in the future…
We’re back with the second part in our two part Games Database “catching up” series. You’ve probably heard of most of the following games scheduled to hit the PS3 over the next year or so.
Then again, there are probably a few titles that will be a complete surprise (they were to us at least).
Throughout April, we’ve been running our big Spring Competition for everyone who followed us on Twitter and ‘tweeted’ a particular phrase.
Now, the time has come to announce the winner of this impressive bounty…
You asked us for more competitions, and boy are we gonna give them to you!
Here’s a reminder of the first competition in the 2009 giveaway schedule. There is still time to enter before the winner is chosen this Sunday.
We just received word that ThreeSpeech, the semi-official UK/EU PlayStation 3 blog, will be closing their doors on April 17th.
The change is to make way for a new EU Official PS Blog along the lines of the much-lauded US site, and whilst we love that site with a passion it is sad to see ThreeSpeech moving on…
It isn’t just the BAFTA nominations that make the headlines today. Oh no.
Your friendly PS3 Attitude has been nominated in three categories at the Blogger’s Choice Awards, and we need your votes throughout 2009 to help us claim our first award.
Following the incredible work Brodiesan put into the Games of 2009 series, we have now consolidated everything into a single 2009 PS3 Games Database so you can keep tabs on what is on the horizon for our favourite console.
We’ll be constantly updating the database as the year progresses to ensure it is the one place you can visit to find out what is going on with your favourite games. It’ll also be a good place to hang out if you want to impress your friends with some of the more obscure titles (”What do you mean you haven’t heard of Islands of Wakfu”).
You can access the database from our menu (hover over Calendar)
Please give a warm welcome and a comforting hot drink (with cookies) to our latest writer, ‘whoelse’.
Whoelse joins PS3 Attitude as a Contributor and will be adding his unique view on the wonderful world of the PlayStation 3 as we take PS3 Attitude through 2009.
Whoelse describes himself as an avid gamer who has a passion for all things PlayStation. He loves his iPod Touch too, and his favourite vegetable is sweetcorn, “because it’s tasty, especially compared to peas… I hate peas!”.
