European PS Store Update for May 2 – Awesome Awesomenauts

Fans of the MOBA genre will no doubt be excited to see Awesomenauts make its debut on the store this week. Others will be surprised to learn that MOBA stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Awesomenaut’s distinctive 80′s cartoon sensibilities make it one of the focal points this week.

European PS Store Update for April 4 – apocalypse fix

You’d think the apocalypse would spell the end of all things but that couldn’t be further from the truth in video games. The end of the world is right when the fun starts. Ubisoft’s I Am Alive hits the store today, putting players in the tremendously average shoes of an every-man hero clinging to life amid the desolation of the end of days.

Other highlights include post-apocalyptic racer, Wheels Of Destruction as well as brand-new downloads for the recently reviewed Street Fighter X Tekken, SSX and Asura’s Wrath.

Have a look for yourself.

North American PS Store Update for April 3 – free games aplenty

PlayStation Plus once again proves itself to be worth your while with a bounty of 5 free games available for download this week. Holdovers and stingy spenders like myself will find it difficult to resist the temptation of the Plus.

Other highlights include multiple discounts on Mortal Kombat themed content, the debut of I Am Alive and the introduction of the Amazon Instant Video App.

Have yourself a look.

Syndicate – The PS3 Attitude Review

Syndicate – The PS3 Attitude Review

Rebooting an old but dated classic is a thankless task. How do you keep the old fans happy while making it relevant for today’s audience? Is it even worth the effort? Starbreeze Studios certainly thinks so.

Their approach to reviving Syndicate has been to ditch pretty much everything. Gone, unsurprisingly, is the isometric tactical shooter gameplay in favour of a trendy first-person shooter style. This has more in common with Modern Warfare than the 1993 original Amiga/PC version.

WipEout Interview: singleplayer and multiplayer campaigns explained

Back in November, at a PlayStation Access event in London, I sat down to discuss the high-velocity anti-gravity racer WipEout 2048 with its lead designer Karl Jones. Over a loud backdrop of New Order and Primal Scream, he took me through the singleplayer and multiplayer campaigns, showing me the exciting things Studio Liverpool has been working on for this Vita title.

…and a Happy New Year. 2012; a PS3 Attitude odyssey

Another year over. A new one just begun.

2011 was a real corker for the PlayStation 3. And for PS3 Attitude too. We got up to all sorts of shenanigans over the last twelve months, and some of us still have the bruises to prove it.

But this isn’t going to be one of those lame retrospective list articles that counts down our favourite moments from the last year. Oh no. This is 2012. This is about what comes next.

So strap yourselves in and get ready for the ride.

European PS Store Update for June 3 – the double dip

Once the PlayStation Store got to once again sample the oh so sweet taste of updates it couldn’t control its thirst for new content.

All of the content we missed during the outage is pouring out of the store. The dam has broken. Let the flood begin.

Welcome Back content is currently available but beware of downloading stipulations. For instance be sure to click through the ‘Welcome Back’ banner instead of heading straight for the games of your choosing. Unless of course you don’t like free games.

European PS Store Update for June 2 – Back to business

Oh PlayStation Store it’s good to have you back. What more is there to say really? We’ve missed you mightily and you’ve now returned to your rightful place upon our dashboards.

One of the few positives to come out of the outage is this rather large update. There’s plenty to look over here so let’s get started.

North American PS Store Update for June 1 – It’s Back

This is somewhat of a unique week for the PlayStation Store in that the content of the update pales in comparison to the fact there is an update to speak of.

The ‘Welcome Back’ initiative is not yet active yet so don’t go looking for your free games just yet. Enough talk, head on in and check it out.

European PS Store Update for April 20 – What’s happenin’ Fancy Pants?

The very solid slate of special offers from last week will remain throughout this week’s update as well. So if you haven’t done so already check out the rundown of discounted titles because it’s a pretty notable bunch.

But if you say ‘nay’ to such fine discounts perhaps you will find The Fancy Pants Adventures or a full game download of ModNation Racers to your liking. Just promise us you won’t download Battle: Los Angeles. Better yet if you’re thinking about purchasing the movie tie-in how about redirecting your funds to support your favorite charitable PS3 site?
