European PS Store Update for February 8 – Satisfaction

It is within the realm of possibility that you may not find anything to your liking on the store this week but it isn’t likely. This week European PS3 enthusiasts are granted access to a veritable cornucopia of content. There’s Shank2 and Gotham City Impostors and Catherine and The Simpsons Arcade Game and so on and so forth.

Go on a Bughunt with these new Aliens vs Predator maps

Aliens vs Predator will be getting its second batch of downloadable content on July 7th with the Bughunt Map Pack. For $6.99, players get four brand new maps; two for Multiplayer and two for Survivor.

Not only that but these new maps are the first to feature environmental hazards and new weather effects. And we though the only thing you had to worry about about was pools of acidic blood and invisible spears.

MAG Monday week 2 – “A soldier will fight long and hard for a bit of coloured ribbon”

Welcome to MAG Monday week 2. This is quite an important week for MAG, as people should now know whether or not this is the online game for them. So will the servers be empty? Or has MAG won our hearts – despite poor supply from retailers.

As always, Team Attitude are here to give our thoughts.

GC09; Aliens versus Predator – the PS3 Attitude preview

It takes a lot to ensure your FPS title stands out from the crowd these days, especially with the vast array of options available.

Aliens versus Predator does this in spades by allowing you to play in single-player and multi-player as any one of the three main factions in the game; Alien, Predator or Marine.

Aliens Vs Predator drops complex class system

When you think of Aliens and Predators facing off against one another — undoubtedly with some Colonial Marines frantically dying in the middle — you probably think of three obvious groups: Aliens, Predators and Dead Guys.

However, with the influx of complex class systems in the likes of Killzone 2 and the Call of Duty games, more and more people are expecting weird and wonderful roles for their characters when they jump online.

Would a Colonial Marine medic for example be proficient in the skill of face-hugger removal? And what of Predator snipers? Would they come fitted with a specialised shoulder-mounted laser-turret?

Confirming in an interview with GameSpot, developer Rebellion have announced that they see the three main factions within their upcoming game as “a beautiful purity” and will not be over-complicating things further with an intricate class system.

North American PS Store Update For April 23rd – Undisputed Red Guerrilla

Sorry mates, this update takes the cake. We share the same demos, most of the add-on features and videos; but North America edges out Europe thanks to Sonic, Disgaea, Naruto, and a couple of Alpha Protocol dev videos. Oh yeah, let’s not forget a crazy little thing called Pulse. But today, the demos take the center stage.

Games Database – Redux Part One

You’ll have to forgive us. After spending over fifty hours creating our comprehensive Games Database (212 games documented!), we were somewhat burned out and a little hesitant to return to the scene of the crime anytime soon.

That said, we’ve definitely neglected our new baby and, since the database’s debut, buckets of new games for the PS3 were announced (or, you know, we’re pretty sure they’re coming).

Rather than just surreptitiously update the Database in the background, we thought you might be interested in the new games that are now tagged and sitting pretty on our virtual shelf.

5 voice actors’ CVs that go on forever

Contrary to popular opinion, voice acting can be an extremely stressful job, and painfully difficult to sustain a livelihood from. However, a handful of talented people make the job look (and sound) easy, and their extensive portfolios are a testament to their skills. This week, PS3 Attitude is paying tribute to five of our favourite voice actors, and taking a look at their established careers.

Nothing warms the heart of a young child quite like a stocking full of gifts on Christmas morning. That’s why this year the PlayStation Store is making it easier than ever to purchase some great games for your loved ones. Sit back and enjoy the sight as they pull the strips of paper you used to scrawl the download code on from their otherwise deflated gift sock.

North American PS Store Update for October 4 – The bass fishing game you’ve been waiting for

It’s quite in vogue to wax nostalgic about the days of the Dreamcast, and why not, Sega’s last console gave the public some excellent games even if most of us never owned a Dreamcast. This week the PSN adds two popular Dreamcast titles to its library with Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2. One for anglers and one for fans of the obscure.

Also, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the debuts of NBA Jam On Fire Edition, Crysis Console & Eufloria. Time to check it out.
