We’re back with the second part in our two part Games Database “catching up” series. You’ve probably heard of most of the following games scheduled to hit the PS3 over the next year or so.

Then again, there are probably a few titles that will be a complete surprise (they were to us at least).

Virtua Tennis 2009 is not your average tennis game. Sure you have your tennis pros, real life stadiums, single player, offline and online multi player, tournament and career modes.

But if the picture to your left is any indication, there’s something more. Something that includes pirates.We know what some of you are asking yourselves right now: Will there be ninjas too?*

We got a live one over here! Two for four on the good PlayStation Store updates. This one looks even bigger than the European counterpart, although size isn’t everything. But it helps sometimes. If you know what we mean. Like the size of your proctologist’s fingers. The smaller the better. Think about it.

Dear diary,
We recorded a video in which we talk about what we think will be the best PS3 tennis game of 2009. Since it looks like this will be the only PS3 tennis game in 2009 we are feeling pretty good about that claim. Never mind that, we are throwing the kitchen sink just in case. Gorgeous graphics, new locations, new players, and even new 3D crowds. We can still feel that new crowd smell, probably because Timmy keeps wearing it as cologne.

When it comes to smaller, niche and even retro games, the PSN is where it’s at these days.

Speaking over at the official PS Blog (we’ve mentioned that we love that site, right?) Senior Manager of the PlayStation Store, Grace Chen, has announced “PSN Spring Fever”.

SEGA is back on the court with another Virtua Tennis for your PS3. The third SEGA tennis game to grace the PS3 (Virtua Tennis 3 and SEGA Superstars Tennis being the other two), Virtua Tennis 2009 will return with major enhancements and additions this year.
