U.S. PSN Video Content for October 9th – Michael Cera is Michael Cera

This weeks video content update features Michael Cera and Jack Black in their simply average comedy, Year One. In addition to the unrated version of the film, there’s a shaman featurette available in case you didn’t get enough of Michael Cera playing the same role he has in everything else.

In addition to films like Battle for Terra and My Life in Ruins are trailers for Legion and Did You Hear About the Morgans. It’s no wonder Year One is the highlight of this update…

European PS Store Update For 8th October – Keep Digging For PSOne Classics

We won’t shy away from the fact that we have been waiting to get our Europoean old-school on with Digger HD. We won’t shy away from the fact that labeling A Bug’s Life as a PSOne Classic is just plain wrong. Who camped out for a midnight release of A Bug’s Life? No really, stand up so we can beat you with a pointy stick.

Ahem, where were we? Oh yes. Digger HD is live in the EU! If you were alive enough back then (and still have your memories), why not relive the good old days with this updated and upgraded PSN remake?

The Homerun – 8th October 09; Motorstorm, PixelJunk and Wolverine

Welcome to this week’s Homerun that will cover the new PlayStation Home content updates including what we think of them.

Last week we saw the release of a new update, version 1.3, and it has been well received by gamers. This week we see content that complements the patch.

European PS Store Update For 1st October – Brutal Demos For The PSPgo-less

It’s all about the PSPgo and PSP minis all over the world. But for the PSPgo-less crowd (the lot of you we hope) there’s a ton of games for you to sample on your PS3 Phat or Slim. Brütal Legend is the one we have all been waiting for, but there’s also Star Wars, Need for Speed, TMNT (which you can buy) and Up.

Up is a pretty fun coop game for the family. And speaking of family, LittleBigPlanet has a new costume pack featuring characters of a movie that the kids are not allowed to watch. They sure do look cute in sackperson form though. FIFA 10 and NBA 10 get DLC as well, one of which is free.

North American PS Store Update For Septemeber 30th – Brutal Digging Update

The wait for this one was brutal, but well worth the wait. Brutal Legend: The Demo is upon us. We all rocked to Tenacious D with Rock Band, but now you can be the man himself. Jack Black rocks out with his rooster out in the open in Tim “Freakin” Schafer’s Brutal Legend.

But that is not all Digger HD: The Downloadable Game is available for all you digging enthusiasts. We just hope that the multiplayer modes are not full of virtual teamsters slowing everything down. Qore, PSone classics, LBP’s Watchmen costumes, and two Fallout 3 packs round up this very awesome update.

Motion Control – Rad or Fad?

Sony’s upcoming motion controller is all the rage at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Supported games have been announced, demos have been show, and the general concept has been well received.

But is motion control the wave of the future for video games or is it simply a fad that will eventually fade away?

God of War III demo included in Collection bundle, another reason to buy it

If you need another reason to justify the purchase of the recently announced God of War Collection pack, which includes both the first game and sequel remastered in HD, then we have some good news.

Sony are going to make the bundle even better by adding a voucher to download the E3 09 GOW III demo for free.

U.S. PSN Video Content for September 18th – Hugh Jackman is a beast

This weeks PSN video content update features People’s Sexiest Man Alive Hugh Jackman as the claw touting mutant Wolverine, along with a few other less notable X-Men characters.

Not only is the film up on the store, but two featurettes and a bonus documentary are there for downloading as well. We do wonder why the film only appears in standard definition and not HD.

North American PS Store Update For September 17th – WTFIT? (You Know What It Means)

US_PSNSad but true. Us gun toting, Whopper eating folk are still Trine-less. Maple syrup chugging, poutine eating folk hadthe same fate. So we would like to ask: where the (radio edit) is Trine? Not in NA,that’s for sure.

The options? Switch your ball or Interpol. Embrace your inner Sporty Spice and give FIFA and NBA 10 the good college try, or go down memory lane with two more PSone Classics.

European PS Store Update For 17th September – TGIT (Thank God It’s Trine)

We can’t believe it’s time to say TGIT. Hmm, that almost reads something cheeky. We won’t say what though, our mums could be reading this (love ya, send cookies and PSN vouchers).

Trine is the reason for the season, and that reason is pleasing. Pleasing all of us that have waited a long ( looooong) time for Trine. Well here it is ladies and gents; better get buying after all that moaning.

U.S. PSN Video Content for August 28th – This…is…PlayStation!

This weeks new arrivals to the PSN Video Store include action, comedy, magic, and a little bit of mystery. To top off the list is Zach Snyder’s amazing adaptation of the graphic novel 300. Watching it will make you think why is this just now making it to the PSN?

Also near the top of our suggestion list is I Love You, Man staring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal. If you’re a Harry Potter fan then The Order of the Phoenix is the choice for you. If you can’t seem to find a film to your liking, then perhaps one of the hundreds of television shows will catch your eye.

One week after its release onto the PlayStation Store in North America, the new game by TikGames and Creat Studios is arriving in Europe this Thursday.

All Motion games will support at least one controller

Sony’s new unnamed motion controller announced at E3 is already expected to be released next Spring, and with the use of the PlayStation Eye, a number of controllers can be used at once.

They will be sold individually, but one question that has been on some people’s lips since the conference is whether some games may require you to own more than one controller, forcing gamers to fork out more money from their pockets.

GC09; Watch as Ezio takes to the rooftops in Assassin’s Creed II

You’ve likely seen similar Assassin’s Creed II footage from its E3 showing, but have you seen Ezio climb onto the rooftops of Venice while narrated by a German?

The one minute and forty-three seconds of video captured on the floor at Gamescom begins with Ezio knifing a startled enemy before calmly pushing his way through a masquerade party and then up on to the roofs of the city.

EI09; EyePet Preview

With the likes of Project Natal and the motion controller making waves at E3 earlier this year, it seemed that EyePet took something of a back seat.

With all the smoke and mirrors that can be done with computers these days, it was with some trepidation that we recently sat down with the EyePet to see what the monkey-rat could really do when halfwits like us were in control.
