It takes a lot to ensure your FPS title stands out from the crowd these days, especially with the vast array of options available.
Aliens versus Predator does this in spades by allowing you to play in single-player and multi-player as any one of the three main factions in the game; Alien, Predator or Marine.
Coming across like a heady mix of Onimusha, Uncharted, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus and a whole bunch of other titles, you can’t say Mercury Steam’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow doesn’t at least try and tick as many boxes as possible.
Of course, probably the most intriguing element of this new Castlevania outing is the guidance and assistance Kojima Productions are providing to the Spanish studio.
The E3 Just Cause 2 trailer was a guilty little pleasure.
Surprising us with its intense high-action gameplay and lush exotic graphics, the title quickly raced up our interest scale.
Now it’s Gamescom and time for the grappling hook wielding explosion-athon to show us what it’s been up to over the last few months.
ModNation Racers was first revealed at E3 earlier in the year.
It was there we first got a glimpse at this, the next in the PlayCreateShare series of games.
And it wowed the audience with the innovation it demonstrated.
GamesCom was the perfect place to show off the new trailer for the game, highlighting the ease with which a track can be laid down and adjusted.
But there are some neat new things worth noting in this latest footage.
Gravity Crash somehow eluded us when it debuted back in June at E3 but while at Gamescom, we were treated to the announcement that not only would the game be coming to the PS3 but the PSP as well via the PSN Store.
Players will pilot their spaceship through labyrinth style caverns shooting lasers at almost anything that moves. It’s a fun little shooter that packs a big punch…
We know that Sony’s E3 motion controller announcement wasn’t the most popular for some of you, but you can’t deny its significance for the PlayStation brand.
Love it or loathe it, at Sony’s Gamescom conference yesterday, a developers’ update video for the controller was shown to the world.
Let’s admit it, Heaven is where we all want to end up but Hell is where the party is. Come February, everyone will get their chance to follow Dante through the nine circles of Hell as he attempts to rescue his lady love from the grasp of Beelzebub.
The release date has been set for February 9th for North Americans with Europeans joining them shortly after on the 12th. While Hell is reserved for the worst of the worst, that doesn’t mean you have to be one of them. Featured in Dante’s Inferno will be a new Morality System to test your faith…
It’s GamesCom this week, which means that we have a special store update for you!
As with E3 before it, Sony have graciously provided us with a raft of new content in honour of the start of GamesCom, and their incredible Press Conference! Be sure to check out the news here.
Check out the list of videos you can now get on the PlayStation Store in EU regions…
We’re at GamesCom in Cologne this year, and the first order of the day is to cover the much-anticipated Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Press Conference.
Whilst the rest of the Internet has been awash with rumour and speculation, as usual we at PS3 Attitude have bit our lips (and kept the ‘Drawer of Secrets’ locked), preferring instead to wait for the official word.
And now that word comes to you via our people on the ground, (almost) live from Germany.
We’re still at Gamescom and the wi-fi is a little fuzzy at the moment so, just in case you missed our Twitter feed, we’ll keep this brief.
Sony have finally announced a price cut for the PS3 while also unveiling the oft-rumoured PS3 Slim.
Taking to the stage at Cologne, Sony big-wig Kazou Hirai talked about how Sony have a bright future and how Gamescom is officially “the third major date on our gaming calendars” (after E3 and TGS).
But enough of the pleasantries, Kaz also wanted to touch upon form and certain things “slim.”
At Edinburgh Interactive, we got to speak with Nathan Vella about the game Critter Crunch. He was like a kid in a candy store when it came to talking about the game, and rightly so. This game just exudes cute from every pixel.
But also has a massive element of gross-out ickyness, when you think about it.
Nathan was awesome to talk to, so let’s get on with it, eh?
Get ready for three unlikely ninjas with Hiro, Futo and Suzume all hitting the PSN this Thursday in bite-sized demo format.
We’ve been pleasantly surprised with the recent explosion of Mini Ninjas videos of late and with what we saw showcased at E3 this year. Could this tale set in feudal Japan featuring a rag-tag gang of ninjitsu trained misfits be one of the surprise hits this summer?
This weeks PSN Video Store update brings another truck load of movies and television shows but nothing really catches our eye. There is a hodgepodge of content from Babe to Carlito’s Way to Big Trouble in Little China.
The top downloads are still being dominated by less than mediocre films. Why? We have no clue but perhaps something this week will knock them out of the top spot.
Personally, we would recommend Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or Garden State if you’re not in the mood for something as depressing.
You’ll no doubt remember our report on Visceral’s 2nd developer diary for their Hellish title, the indulgent and twisted Lust. In fact, you’re probably still in therapy because of it.
Well, better clear your shrink’s schedule because wait ’til you get a load of the absolutely bizarre and nauseating Gluttony layer in the game. Bring a sick bag. Actually, bring a sick suitcase.
Back at E3 in 2008, on the exact same day as their conference, Sony officially announced and launched a video store for the United States.
But straight away as expected, people from other regions around the world were asking when they would see their own store to download television shows and movies, including some of the latest blockbusters straight on their PS3s.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have confirmed a new Heavy Rain character will be revealed at this year’s GamesCom event in Cologne that runs between the 19th and 22nd of August.
The news started speading when PS3Center claimed that they had information about Sony unveiling a new character for the Quantic Dreams title at the up-and-coming games event.
OK, something is definitely going on.
Apparently if the PSP Go was the “worst kept secret at E3”, the latest in the long line of Sony’s “there’s no smoke without a nuclear blast” big reveals is …
Tecmo Koei president Kenji Matsubara has been speaking to Play Magazine on his interest for Sony’s E3-announced motion controller.
He is so interested in fact that he explained he could consider using it for the Ninja Gaiden series if it is as responsive as Sony claim it is, which is citied as one of the main differences between it and Nintendo’s Wiimote.
The Uncharted 2: Among Thieves website has just launched and it features brand new screenshots as well as interactive elements including a 360 degree view of the Nepal Warzone map.
This game looks so stunning it is unbelievable. And Sony aren’t afraid to show off their tonne of awards from the major media websites for their E3 showing.
