After the disappointment of Black Box’s The Run, this is probably a good thing.

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been searching for the perfect messenger bag, sling bag, or backpack to carry all your gadgets for a long time. I have officially crossed the line of someone collecting imperfect bags to somewhat of a bag whore, and I’m openly admitting that now. But I may have finally found that perfect bag. It’s a tech lover’s dream, but how well does it perform for the portable gamer?

Sega’s next iteration in the kart racing series featuring the fast moving hedgehog was shown off at E3 with two new characters to choose from. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will now include Joe Mushashi from Shinobi and Danica Patrick from…the real world of NASCAR. Is this the best marketing strategy they could come up with?
PS Vita was tragically undersold by Sony during their E3 keynote speech. An early leak spoiled the Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation announcement, so our only “surprise” came when we got a title for an already announced Call of Duty game. Oh, we got a logo too.
We’ve scanned the list of confirmed upcoming games. Here are some of the most noteworthy
EA’s 2012 E3 showcase was amassed around new iterations of publisher’s biggest and most successful franchises. From relatively new (Crysis 3) to unfrozen from carbonite (SimCity), Electronic Arts CEO, John Riccitiello made it abundantly clear that the publishing giant would indeed focus on strengthening an already proven stable of franchises. Among EA’s prized assets is Dead Space and the forthcoming Dead Space 3.
What wasn’t shown at E3 however was this rather large chunk of Dead Space 3 footage which serves as the first real close-up we’ve seen of the third installment in the survival/horror series. Steve Papoutsis, vice president and general manager of Visceral Games would like to take you on a tour of some of the new aspects you can expect when Dead Space 3 makes its way to store shelves. Including the polarizing addition of 2-player drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.
Fears that Dead Space 3 is leaving behind its horror roots have been addressed by EA Labels president Frank Gibeau. In an interview with CVG, Gibeau admitted that the studio is trying to make the game “more broadly appealing” – a clear indication that it is softening – but he also said “[we] definitely do not want to piss off our fans”.
Top names in the gaming industry lend their voices in what looks to be the definitive Transformers video game ever to collide with our planet. Do battle as both the Autobots and Decepticons during their final battle for their dying home planet while listening to the smooth sound of Peter Cullen’s voice. “Roll out.”
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has gone through plenty of changes over the last few years and was even on the brink of being cancelled by Kojima Productions before it landed in the hands of Platinum Games. Rising made its playable debut at E3 this past week and we were able to go hands-on with Raiden and his sword slicing skills. Question is, does the game’s mantra of being able to cut anything still ring true?
The FUS1ON controller from accessory makers PowerA is all about giving tournament players a durable controller where everything is designed from the bottom up to fit the player. Featuring widened analog sticks, durable action buttons, and interchangeable grips, is this the controller that can take your gaming skills to the next level?
Last year, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix wowed us with a darker and grittier Lara Croft than we’ve seen before. Rebooting the franchise to before Lara was the gun touting, ass kicking heroine we’re familiar with, Tomb Raider depicts a fragile girl who is thrust into danger and must survive at any cost. While we weren’t able to go hands-on with the game, we did get to see a lengthy gameplay demo that expanded on what was shown during Microsoft’s press conference.
Disney Interactive has officially dated the sequel to 2010′s paint brush-wielding adventure game featuring the world’s most famous mouse. The one and only Mickey Mouse and his pal Oswald have designs on a release before 2012 comes to a close.
Each week we ask ourselves three simple questions about what we’ve been playing over the past week. Between writing about PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, and talking about our feelings, how do we find the time to play games? We manage to make the time, but wouldn’t you like to know what we’ve been playing?
This week, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon invites guests from the gaming industry to show off some cool new games and toys. The NBC late night talk show starring SNL’s most notorious crack-up artist airs week nights at 12:35 PST/11:35 Central in the US. Can you laugh uncontrollably while watching someone unskilled play a game that you would rather be playing?
When PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was announced, people were quick to dismiss it as just another Smash Bros. clone; after all, it does feature many of PlayStation’s most notable franchise figureheads battling it out in an arena-style fighting game. After going hands-on with the game this past week at E3, we’ve realized that while it may appear similar to Nintendo’s brawler, it’s an entirely different beast.
It seemed like Ubisoft was content to end its brilliant E3 keynote on a chilled-out note with a cheerful eSports promotion with ShootMania. We already had the eye-catching Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3, alongside some fan-pleasing footage of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Backlist and Rayman Legends. It was a solid performance, but it would have been an odd way to finish considering all the great stuff that we had seen.
