North American PS Store Update for November 2 – Another late one

In case you missed it, the world almost imploded for a bunch of PlayStation 3 gamers when there was a delay in publishing the store update… or at least that’s what you’d think if you went over the PlayStation Blog. Indeed the update was a few hours late but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. It’s all updated and ready to go now for your purchasing pleasure. So what do you have to look forward to?

If you’re a Plus member, you have the God of War Collection full game trials to play (non Plus Members still get the games but not the trial) as well as a new mini titled BreakQuest and a few other odds and ends things.

Plus members and regular members alike have episode 25 of Qore to download, as well as the new action/strategy game Hoard. If you cruise over to the demo section, you’ll find demos for Rock Band 3, Aqua Panic HD and another Split/Second demo.

There’s far more to see and purchase beyond that but we’ll leave the browsing to you. Be sure to head down to the comments section after seeing the complete list and let us know what you’ll be getting.

Oct 2010; MoH, Castlevania, Vanquish, Fallout, Enslaved, FIFA 11, PES 2011

Medal of Honor, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Vanquish, Fallout: New Vegas, Sonic the Hedgehog: Episode 1, FIFA 2011, PES 2011 and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West: these are just some of the games that have stormed the charts in October.

If July will be remembered for its summer shutdown, then October will be known for its abundance of games. What’s more: they were mostly quality. Yes, some underachieved, and others were predictable, but all were worth a play, and play we did…

North American PS Store Update for October 26th – Zombies and the Forsaken Dragon Ball

North American PS Store Update for October 26th – Zombies and the Forsaken Dragon Ball

This week has quite a bit of content. For downloadable games there’s Blacklight: Tango Down and Superstars V8 Racing, which is nice. It took awhile for Blacklight to hit the PSN for some reason though.

You’ll definitely want to check out the demo for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. This game is made by the developers of Folklore and it’s looking quite beautiful. If that’s not enough for you, there’s a demo for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, Blacklight, and TV Superstars.

The highlight is definitely the undead DLC for Red Dead Redemption. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber you can even purchase it at a reduced price. Not bad! The Fan Axxess pack for Smackdown vs Raw 2011 is now available and this pre-purchases any DLC coming to the game in the future. It’s an interesting idea by THQ, let’s see if it works out in the end. Move support for High Velocity Bowling is now available to all PSN users and it’s still free. If you have a PS Move you’ll probably want to try that out.

If you’re a fan of Super Street Fighter IV, you’ll be happy to know that the first pack of new costumes have been released. Enjoy!

PS3 Attitude’s Top 100 Developers – Part 10

Believe it or not, the PlayStation 3 was released nearly four years ago, and since then the console has been graced with hundreds of great titles. Therefore, we at PS3 Attitude thought we’d take some time to pay tribute to the people who create the games that make our mundane lives just that little bit more entertaining: the developers.
Over the last ten weeks we’ve been revealing our one hundred favourite developers, and we think you’ll agree we’ve included some incredibly talented teams. We’ve now revealed ninety developers in our mammoth list, and today we’re revealing the final ten!

Blacklight: Tango Down gets PSN-exclusive content

To apologise to PS3 users for the game’s delay on the console (we like to think so anyway), Zombie Studios and Ignition Entertainment have announced that the PSN version of Blacklight: Tango Down will not only be fully-updated but also feature an exclusive map, bringing the total number of multiplayer maps to thirteen.

FirstPlay Thursday – Week 29

This week there are reviews of the remastered version of Medal of Honor: Frontline and recent PSN games Lara Croft and the Guardian of and Light and Worms 2: Armageddon, as well as previews of LittleBigPlanet 2 and Vanquish.

There’s also a new feature called Head to Head (which sees two members of the FirstPlay team battle it over which of two games is the best), a look at what’s new on the Digital Comics Store, and screenshot galleries of epic MMO Final Fantasy XIV and upcoming PSN title Swarm.

[Update]Blacklight: Tango Down finally has solid release date

Earlier in the summer when Blacklight: Tango Down was nearing its initial release date, we were actually pretty excited to play it. Our excitement was soon replaced with annoyance as it was delayed for an unforeseen amount of time. Now, we have a firm release date again, but based on when it’s coming out and the other games that surround it, we have to question if anyone still cares.

FirstPlay Thusday – Week 28

On the frontline of this week’s episode (do you see what we did there?) is a review of the modern reboot of the classic Medal of Honor series. Other reviews include the muddy racer WRC: FIA World Rally Championship and the cute PSN title Swords and Soldiers (along with a European-exclusive demo of the game).

Elsewhere there are previews of the imaginatively titled (not) EA Sports MMA, and the awesome-looking multiplayer of Call of Duty: Black Ops. You’ll also find a cool video of Skate 3, and screenshot galleries including Batman: Arkham City and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.

FirstPlay Thursday – Week 27

Lucy Porter is back from her holiday in what almost feels like a bumper episode of FirstPlay. For a start, there’s a record amount of reviewed games this week, including the epic Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and equally awesome Enslaved: Odyssey to West, as well as PSN titles Blade Kitten and Flight Control HD.

They’re joined by (believe it or not) even more reviews, screenshot galleries of Killzone 3, MotorStorm: Apocalypse and Portal 2 (WANT!), a round-up of the latest and greatest minis, and a couple of pretty cool themes to brighten up your XMB. Keep it up FirstPlay!

North American PS Store Update for October 5 – Deadliest Impact

It’s time again for the North American PlayStation Store Update! This week is a tad lighter than the few before it but that certainly doesn’t mean there’s not some good content to be found here.

If you’re a Plus subscriber, you’ve got a new episode to Qore to look forward do (as do non Plus Qore subscribers) as well as a Mini titled, Bubble Trubble and a couple of themes. Beyond that, the Plus update is only discounts to previous released content, although it is worth noting that one of those discounts is for a game that is just being released – Alien Breed: Impact.

For the rest of us, there are two new games: Deadliest Warrior: The Game and Alien Breed: Impact – both of those titles have a demo.

If none of that interests you, there’s plenty of other demos, videos, add-on content and media, so surely you can find something that will tickle your fancy. Have a look at the list and be sure to let us know what you’re picking up.

North American PS Store Update for September 20th – The demon poop hammer returns

The PSN has had ridiculously good updates lately. This update came earlier than usual thanks to a scheduled maintenance. If you didn’t access the Store before the maintenance started then you’re out of luck until it finishes at 5pm pacific.

First, there’s a bunch of deals for the pointless PlayStation Plus subscription service. Zen Pinball is free, amongst other games. Swords & Soldiers is available earlier for PS Plus members as well.

In terms of deals, Mega Man 10 is half priced. Definitely pick that up. If you wait until next week, Mega Man 9, 10, and avatars will be bundled together for $14.99.

Next we have three new games: Blade Kitten, DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue, and Sonic Adventure. Ok, maybe Sonic Adventure isn’t exactly new but you know what we mean. If that’s not enough for you, there’s actually a whopping seven demos to try out.

The PSone Import Store makes its debut this week. The first two games available are Cho Aniki and Gaia Seed, two classic Japanese exclusive shmups.

Enjoy :)
