If you asked me at the beginning of March what my favourite game of the year was likely to be, without a doubt I would have said Heavy Rain. With its incredible atmosphere, innovative gameplay and compelling story, it kept me engrossed for no less than five full playthroughs. However, on 9th March 2010 along came a game that completely blew me away: Final Fantasy XIII.

Square Enix is determined to fix Final Fantasy XIV before releasing the PS3 version.

When Deus Ex: Human Revolution gets released in early 2011, it will become only the third game in the franchise’s ten year history. However, we suspect we’ll be seeing more Deus Ex over the next decade after Square Enix’s President and CEO, Yoichi Wada, told MCV that the company expects to be making a profit from the franchise for the next ten years.

Believe it or not, the PlayStation 3 was released nearly four years ago, and since then the console has been graced with hundreds of great titles. Therefore, we at PS3 Attitude thought we’d take some time to pay tribute to the people who create the games that make our mundane lives just that little bit more entertaining: the developers.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be revealing our one hundred favourite developers, and believe us when we say that there are some incredibly talented teams included. We’ve now revealed seventy developers in our mammoth list, and today we’re revealing ten more.

Ignition Entertainment were proud to walk away from the Tokyo Game Show with the approval of the masses. The 200,000 attendees voted Ignition’s El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron as their ‘Future Game of the Show 2010.’ You can’t fail to be impressed by a game that not only has a distinctive visual style, but one that also finds its inspiration in old religious texts to boot.

So much happened at the Tokyo Game Show that it’s easy to lose track of all the news. There were grown men crying, Samba Buses sliding, Dante looking hellish and Hell looking stylish; NIS embraced Hi-Res sprites and SEGA enlisted zombies. So basically we had a lot of shocks, surprises, some predictability and plenty of wow moments.

TGS, more than anything, showed that Japanese game development is still going strong today, despite rumours of the contrary. Japanese developers are still pumping out hugely inventive, aesthetically pleasing titles – the sort of games that make you say, “that must come from Japan.”

While PC owners only have to wait until late September for the release of Final Fantasy XIV, PlayStation 3 owners have to wait another six month before they can sink their claws into the game. The reason for the delay? It’s all down to memory issues.

Arriving later this year on PSP is The 3rd Birthday, it’s the long awaited third game in the Parasite Eve universe – the first two games arrived on PSOne. If Tetsuya Nomura’s comments are anything to go by, it sound as though Parasite Eve 1 & 2 will be arriving on the PlayStation Store at some point in the near future. This will no doubt be great news for all those dedicated fans.

Square Enix has announced that Fron Mission Evolved will be coming to Europe and PAL territories on October 8th, 10 days after it’s released in North America.

Square Enix has announced that Front Mission 3, the first and only Front Mission to be released in PAL territories, will be coming to the PlayStation Network soon for PS3 and PSP.

For those of you unfamiliar with the series, it is a turn-based strategy RPG featuring giant mechs called Wanzers. Think along the lines of Final Fantasy Tactics. There are two independent storylines, each with their own characters, environments, and situations for up to 150 hours of gameplay.

The first ever gameplay trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution is more cinematic than the title would lead you to believe. It still looks great though.
