Dead Space 3 was Electronic Arts big reveal of E3 this year, and the game introduces audiences to a whole new kind of Dead Space. The biggest news is that the game will feature drop-in/drop-out co-op, pairing Isaac Clarke with the newly introduced John Carver. Now that you’re no longer alone, questions arise as to whether or not Dead Space 3 can still deliver the same survival horror atmosphere as its predecessors.

Lately, the Medal of Honor franchise has been in the shadow of the FPS behemoth that is Call of Duty. 2010′s Medal of Honor reboot received generally positive reviews and Electronic Arts aims to eclipse that with Medal of Honor: Warfighter. To set the game apart from all of the rest of the war shooters in development, Warfighter introduces individual Tier-1 Operators that are crafted after real-world combat specialists. In the end, there will be 72 unlockable Operators from all over the world, each with their own unique skill set and weapons.
Not to be upstaged by Sony and Ubisoft, Electronic Arts has also had a strong showing at this year’s E3, as the likes of Dead Space 3, Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Crysis 3 are sure to excite gamers.
Our only complaint is that all of the games shown were sequels to existing franchises. Everyone loves a good sequel, but it would have been nice to see EA show off some new interlectual property. Well, that or Mirror’s Edge 2.
But we digress; on with the trailers…
It has to said that Ubisoft had a terrific conference at E3. This was partly because it was presented by comedienne Aisha Tyler, but mainly because the company has arguably the strongest lineup of games of all third-party publishers.

Sony announced before E3 that they would unveil the “future of PS Plus”, and that is exactly what they did during their keynote speech. It wasn’t quite as revolutionary as some of the rumours had predicted. There was no cloud streaming service announced, for example.
What we did get however, while not as headline catching, was fantastic news for all PS3 owners. As of today in the US and tomorrow in the UK, an Instant Game Collection will be available for all PS Plus members. This is an ever-expanding library of free games – worth over $260 (in the US at least).

Coming spring 2013, can’t get any more tentative really, Splinter Cell: Blacklist aims to rectify the lack of Sam Fisher on our XMB toting blu-ray disc console. PS3 may not have had Conviction, but it will get a Blacklist.

The event run from 5-7 June, but there will be plenty of announcements around these dates.
Castlevania was one of my highlights of 2010. It was a fantastic reboot of the series, offering an engrossing story, great voice acting and brilliant combat. So naturally the reveal of Lords of Shadow 2 has me bounding about with joy.
Note: spoilers ahead for those who haven’t finished Lords of Shadow 1.
