We have two brand new games added to the weird name mix today; .detuned and topatoi. The long as hell to type Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars makes a return as well, in the form of a limited time price drop. But .detuned has our full attention this week, we can’t wait to see what we come up with our music collection.
BUZZ is also staging a comeback with BUZZ! Junior: Monster Rally and a new space question pack that Buzz Aldrin would be proud of. Mushroom Wars, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (PSone), and a demo for NBA 2K10 flesh out today’s update/ Excuse us while we get our umlauts on with Brutal Legend’s Rock Band pack. Kyle! Where are you?
We can’t believe it’s time to say TGIT. Hmm, that almost reads something cheeky. We won’t say what though, our mums could be reading this (love ya, send cookies and PSN vouchers).
Trine is the reason for the season, and that reason is pleasing. Pleasing all of us that have waited a long ( looooong) time for Trine. Well here it is ladies and gents; better get buying after all that moaning.
Not long ago we gave you a look at some of the games that were expected to be seen at the Tokyo Game Show. Now that the show is a little closer, we have more for you to salivate over.
Just recently, Sony Computer Entertainment of Japan announced the full list of playable PS3 titles that will be gracing the Sony booth at TGS.
Assuming you’re one of the few planning on attending, what can you expect to see?
One of the announcements we pretty much brushed aside from GamesCom this year was PSP Minis – Sony’s answer to Apple’s App Store and its plethora of instantly downloadable bite-sized games.
Now that SCEE’s Zeno Colaco is talking about the possibility of the micro games making the logical jump to the PS3, we’re a lot more comfortable discussing the upcoming service.
We’re big fans of the classic Sony DualShock design here at Attitude Towers, so whenever we are presented with the opportunity to use optional third-party hardware to control our games, our eye is often super-critical.
So what did we think when we tried out the most unusual controllers yet devised for the PS3; the SplitFish Dual SFX Evolution and the FragFX v2? And do they make you better at online gaming?
Welcome back to another Homerun PlayStation fans!
This week we will be giving you more news and views on all the new content for PlayStation Home that has arrived and been announced for Europe and North America.
We are not quite sure what to make of this update. We got Qore, NBA 2K10 Draft Combine (game and demo), Battle Tanks, Cool Boarders 3 for the PSone, Guitar Hero tracks (no EU love?) and whatever Europe got (see: not much more).
SCEA managed to get a handful of themes available, three of them of the dynamic persuasion. Better than Europe’s update, sure. But is it a good update? We can’t reach an agreement, so you tell us.
Speaking of themes, we hope those premium prices get dynamic too. $3.99? Come on! No wonder the zebras are taking over. While there’s no BZB! theme for NA (doesn’t that burn you?), NA gets away with PixelJunk, High Velocity Bowling and PAIN dynamic themes. How fitting that PAIN gets a premium theme, those prices hurt.
Hong Kong will be getting getting their burnination on (I made a rhyme, again) this week with a Burn Zombie Burn promotion to write home about. Make that to wear Home around. Buy Burn Zombie Burn and get a free BZB tee for PlayStation Home, available in his and hers. Does that make you want to look for a Hong Kong PSN card?
This week, the HK Store is your destination if you missed all those deliciously new (by then) Gamescom videos. Heavy Rain, LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank, EyePet, Modnation, Savage Moon, Hustle Kings, Gravity Crash; all available for download and HD ogling. Well come on! Start ogling!
And that dear readers is what’s up in Hong Kong, stay tuned for what’s going on in your neck of the woods. PS3 Attitude, highlighting what’s up in the Hong Kong PlayStation Store since last week.
Remember in our EyePet preview we revealed the system by which you can clean your rat monkey critter?
Well, now there is a video showing this off.
High quality cam footage from the floor at GamesCom 09 lets us all see the creature (and the game) being put through its paces in real time; no smoke and mirrors here. It’s at the end of the video, for the impatient out there.
Europe, stop giggling. Yeah it took longer than usual, but thanks to some expert help the North American PS Store update is up and running. It also took us a little bit longer to post it but hey, we were a little busy.
Invincible Tiger debuts in super-duper 3D. Finally! We can use those Rad Racer glasses again. This week’s PSone classics are brought to you by the number two: CoolBoarders Two, Tomb Raider Two and SimCity Two…thousand. There are four demos this time around, all of them previously available elsewhere, if you happen to own a ‘summer home’ abroad that is.
That’s right, Disgaea 3 has dumped a massive amount of DLC into today’s Europe’s PS Store. EA style. But today’s update is much more than that.
Crash Commando gets a price drop, Smash Cars and Battle …
For as long as we can remember, Final Fantasy fans have been nudging Square Enix to remake their most favourite game in the franchise; FF VII.
The PSOne classic recently hit the PlayStation Stores around the world and the request for a remake has never been higher.
The PS3 re-design was recently revealed by Sony at GamesCom in Cologne.
While we were not surprised to see the new PS3 unveiled, it struck me as somewhat odd that no-one had thought that a re-design of the PS3 would look like the model that was unveiled.
Why?
Heavy Rain has got the gaming community in a spin, what with the stand-out realistic graphics, amazing sound and impressively large script.
But the game has also gained a fair number of detractors, stating that the ‘quicktime event’ gameplay is hackneyed and more akin to Dragon’s Lair than a PS3 blockbuster.
So it was with great interest that we grabbed a DualShock 3 controller and headed off into the world of Heavy Rain for the first time. Here’s the story of what it really feels like to play…
Sony’s new unnamed motion controller announced at E3 is already expected to be released next Spring, and with the use of the PlayStation Eye, a number of controllers can be used at once.
They will be sold individually, but one question that has been on some people’s lips since the conference is whether some games may require you to own more than one controller, forcing gamers to fork out more money from their pockets.
Despite GamesCom being ‘dead’, we still have a lot of GC09 coverage to deliver for you, starting with our hands-on experience of two forthcoming PSN titles – PixelJunk Shooter and Dead Nation.
Whilst we all knew in advance about PixelJunk’s latest title, Dead Nation was one of a number of ‘quietly announced’ titles at GamesCom. So, how do they both play, and will you be wanting to spend your hard-earned cash of either of these games come launch day?
It appears that more evidence has risen that suggests Gran Turismo 5 will be releasing this year after all, despite no official announcement at Gamescom.
A picture from GTPlanet that is said to be of the game’s official brochure given out by Sony at Gamescom strengthens the possibility that the game could still release before 2010.
Now that Gamescom is over, we look forward to the third big event on the gaming calendar, the Tokyo Game Show.
Held at the Makuhari Messe, in Chiba (which is in Tokyo, naturally), TGS takes place this year between the 24th and 27th of September. Want to know just some of the games that will be on display?
Waiting in the wings to see how players react to Borderlands, Gearbox head honcho Randy Pitchford is promising that gamers’ reactions to the title will dictate how they will proceed with upcoming downloadable content already in development.
And if the bazillion weapon combinations isn’t enough to spend your time on, the game also has more content than you could shake a gimp-mask wearing mutant at.
