E3 13; PlanetSide 2 coming to PS4
PlanetSide 2, Sony Online Entertainment’s long-awaited sequel to the popular MMOFPS, was originally released as a free-to-play game on PC last year. It was extremely well received by both critics and fans, and Sony has consequently announced a PS4 release for the title.
E3 13; Sony still serious about supporting indie developers
Recently, Sony has made a huge effort in welcoming indie developers onto PlayStation platforms, and the results speak for themselves; incredible original experiences like Journey and The Unfinished Swan, and impressive ports such as Thomas Was Alone and Terraria. So it’s pretty frickin’ awesome to hear that this philosophy will continue with the PlayStation 4.
E3 13; PS Plus subscriptions will rollover onto PS4
Without a doubt, the most welcome news to come out of Sony’s conference was that the PS4 will support used games, and won’t require an internet connection. But almost as good as that was the fact that PlayStation Plus subscriptions will incorporate PS4 games and features at no additional cost.
E3 13; First look at Battlefield 4’s multiplayer

E3 13; Hands-on with the PS4’s DUALSHOCK 4
The PlayStation DUALSHOCK design has remained pretty much unchanged since the original PS1, but the PS4 introduces the newly improved DS4 that adds a touchscreen pad to the face of the controller and a light bar to its top in addition to usual six-axis sensors and rumble feature.
When the PS4 was revealed during February’s Future of PlayStation event, the DUALSHOCK 4 was actually the only thing physically present on stage. It was the first thing we would come to associate with the PS4 and would blend the touchscreen aspects of the Vita along with the precise control of the DUALSHOCK 3. It was different from the design we’ve become accustomed to, and yet familiar enough.
E3 13; This massive Metal Gear Solid V trailer will blow your mind
Let’s be honest; the reveal of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in March was undermined just a bit by the fact that everyone had already made the connection between The Phantom Pain and MGS back in December. For this reason, it’s vital that the game is presented in a positive light at E3. Well, we’ve watched the trailer, and Kojima doesn’t need to worry.
E3 13; Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s The Division
Undoubtedly the biggest surprise to come out of Ubisoft’s conference yesterday was the announcement of Tom Clancy’s The Division. The publisher arguably stole the show at E3 2012 with Watch Dogs, so could it be possible they’ve done the same this year with The Divide?
Judging by the first footage, they just might have.
E3 13; PS4 priced at $399 and will launch this holiday season
Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4 will cost $399/€399/£349 and will release in the US and Europe this holiday season.
The news comes from PlayStation’s annual E3 press conference, where Sony’s Andrew House announced the price, saying “it’s a very compelling price that offers incredible value given the amount of entertainment PS4 will provide to gamers over the next decade and beyond.”
