“The pinger attacks at E3 2010.” Those are the ominous words from Crytek in the latest Crysis 2 teaser trailer. It produce two responses from us: we fear for the safety of our employees who will be attending E3, and we wonder who or what is this Master Pinger.
It’s the year 2027 and human biomechanical augmentations are standard, if you have the money of course. It’s a futuristic world filled with corporation conspiracies and global agendas, not unlike the popular sci-fi film Blade Runner.
At the heart of this one particular conspiracy involving one of the most popular augmentation facilities is Adam Jensen. He’s gone through some pretty hardcore augmentations to his arms and is in search for the truth.
Enough with the talking though, just watch the trailer…
CVG are reporting that Rockstar, the publisher behind Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto, will be having a low key presence at E3 this year.
It was expected that Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire would be on show at the press event in LA, but Rockstar have changed their plans because they fear there will not be enough time to show as much as they would like.
E3 is exactly one month away now, and there is expected to be a lot of new announcements that will make all of us very excited!
So Sony have launched a new website for gamers and anxious journalists to dribble over while counting down to the company’s conference.
The waters of E3 have been choppy as of late. The convention was well known for its size and grandeur, but it was this that led to its eventual reduction in size as companies struggled to foot the bill for large and lavish stands.
The new look E3 tanked though – as it equated to nothing more than a few boring looking meetings. Last year saw a partial return to the E3 of old, but apparently that was nothing to what we can expect this year.
Excited? Us? Well, maybe a little (lot).

We are sorry to say that the wait to see the Versus game may be even longer that expected.
The PlayStation Network has been a huge opportunity for Sony to re-release the classic games that defined the PlayStation era. Unfortunately, for countless weeks Sony underwhelmed fans by ignoring the library of quality games that the PSone has to offer.
During E309, Sony stated that the number of PSone Classics available on the US PSN will increase to nearly 60 titles by the end of the year.
Is Sony on track in keeping its promise? Not only that, but are the games actually ‘classics’?
Crysis 2 for the PS3 is going to be one of those games that will either re-invent the FPS, or fall flat on its face. Though it will surely be a pretty game, a lot depends on whether or not Crytek can match their legendary visuals with compelling gameplay and story.
Check out some new demo footage of CryEngine3, the engine that will power Crysis 2, taken by a fairly steady hand over at Gamescom.
