The PS3A Weekly Roundup: 25th-31st May 2013
Another week, another PS3A Weekly Roundup! It’s been a fairly quiet seven days in the videogame industry (presumably all the big publishers are saving their big announcements for E3!), but there’s still been plenty to think about.
Limbo coming to Vita; release date confirmed
Limbo, the dark and gloomy game developed by Playdead, is being introduced to Vita with the aid of Double Eleven. Whilst not many details have been revealed on Vita-exclusive features, it’s safe to assume that it will look gorgeous on the Vita’s LED screen.
Flower to grace the Vita
Indie-hit Flower, developed by thatgamecompany, is seemingly heading to PlayStation Vita if IndieCade’s list of playable titles is correct. Flower has met critical acclaim on PSN and was followed by the spectacular Journey last year.
Rayman Legends confirmed for Vita
Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will be arriving on Vita alongside its console counterparts later this year. It will come with exclusive features which will utilise Vita functionalities.
PS3A PlayTime: 20th-26th May 2013
Unfortunately DolphGB is still on the road this week, but the rest of us have been trying to fit in as much gaming as possible to make up for it. Specifically, Majiesto has been kicking back with his Vita, MitchJay92 has been beating up superheroes (and playing Persona… obviously), and I’ve taken it upon myself to play as many different games as possible.
PS4 aims for a worldwide release in time for Christmas
Sony is aiming to have the PS4 everywhere by Christmas, judging by their advertisements. Many people were confused by their reveal on the 20th February when they stated PS4 would be releasing in 2013, as they never stated a region, but it seems we were supposed to interpret it as worldwide after all.
The PS3A Weekly Roundup: 18th-24th May 2013
Although the biggest news of the week concerned a certain other company and their next set-top box games console, there was still plenty to talk about in the world of PlayStation.
Epic Mickey 2 makes its way to PS Vita
Disney Interactive’s Epic Mickey 2 will be making its way to Vita on 18th June in North America. We assume that Europe will see it on the 21st as is standard with many releases and, hopefully, it’ll fare better on the Sony handheld.
Terraria – The PS3 Attitude Review
Terraria is a big game with a simple concept – survive. This is done via creating shelter, collecting materials and fighting off monsters who are more than ready to attack you the moment you’re off-guard. Although many people compare Terraria to Minecraft, and the resemblance is easy to notice, does it stand on its own two feet?
LittleBigPlanet to receive Mass Effect themed costumes
LittleBigPlanet is receiving yet another costume pack, but this time it’s featuring our favourite space crew from Mass Effect. It’s nice to see the LBP titles being strongly supported still and we hope these costumes will be compatible with any inevitable LBP games on the PS4, or future games on the Vita.
PS3A PlayTime: 13th-19th May 2013
It’s been a fairly busy week for the PS3 Attitude team, but we still managed to squeeze in a bit of good ol’ fashioned gaming. Getting some play time this week were Final Fantasy XIII, Knytt Underground, Spec Ops: The Line, Terraria, Persona 4: Arena, Persona 4: Golden and Persona 3: Portable (no prizes for guessing who’s been playing those last three!).
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- announced
The latest installment in Arc System Works developed fighting game series, Guilty Gear, has been announced as Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Yeah, we’re not entirely sure how you pronounce Xrd either, zerd, maybe? It seems as if we’re making up new numbers as well as names now! (Remember Revengeance?)
Ratchet & Clank: QForce finally makes its way to Vita
Ratchet and Clank: QForce – known as Full Frontal Assault overseas – is finally making it’s way to PlayStation Vita. It released last November on PS3 and those who already own it will be able to access the Vita version free due to Sony’s cross-buy deal featured on the title.
The PS3A Weekly Roundup: 6th-17th May
Hello and welcome to a bumper edition of the PS3A Weekly Roundup, as the feature moves to Friday evenings. Here is what’s been happening on the site and in the world of videogames over the last week (well, actually the last 11 days).
More FuturLab awesomeness coming to PS Vita
Velocity Ultra, the Vita version of FuturLab’s critically acclaimed PS mini, was released a couple of days ago on the European PS Store. It’s even free for PlayStation Plus subscribers, but the team isn’t stopping there!
Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3 later this year
Yesterday evening, Sony announced the future of Gran Turismo at the franchise’s 15th Anniversary event at Silverstone, the home of the British Grand Prix. It turns out that its future is in Gran Turismo 6, which (as has been widely reported across the internet over the last few weeks) is coming to PS3 this winter.
Rayman Legends to receive exclusive Assassin’s Creed IV skin on PS3
Rayman Legends, previously a Wii-U exclusive, is making its way to PS3 later this year and will include an exclusive Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag skin.
The skin is based on IV’s main character – Edward Kenway – and will see Rayman don his assassin gear on his adventure to save all the Electoons.
